“proper and necessary response”

I really hope they do. It would be nice for the CCP to throw Xi out of office, release all political prisoners, let Hong Kong actually elect representatives who they want, hole 100% democratic 10+ party elections throughout mainland China and begin discussions about Taiwan's democracy merging with mainland Chinese democracy in 20-30 years.

Then Taiwan and China can stop wasting money on military arms and spend it to make the lives of Chinese better, lifting up ALL Chinese citizens, while not screwing over/stealing knowledge from the rest of the world. China can definitely compete, once they get rule of law that is equally enforced, open their markets, stop govt aid for 80% (my uneducated guess) of their economy and end protectionism.

That would be a proper and necessary response.

The CCPs best hope is to get Biden as president. In that case, we go back to bad old days of subservience to China

oh, Zaphod, this is like shooting fish in a barrel! TRUMP has a chinese bank account! Can you imagine the impeachment hearings of a Democrat if he or she had one!? Clutching pearls the GOP would be, but repigs have no such values or principles. Law-breaking is a-ok! And Trump has many, many, many times his own crap made in China—his dang hats are all made there!! And then he gets his Ivanka knock out stuff tariff free. Tell me who is China’s friend!

This would be the country that the Trump family is heavily invested in?

Xi being the dictator that 45 has praised on numerous occasions?

LOL

The problem with a huge navy or army is like a Porsche or new Telsa car, you want to take it for a spin. All armies and navies have throughout history been used or used up!

Toasted Heretic

That is country that Trump is the first president (after a long line of globalists) to have taken on in regard to jobs relocation, unfair dumping, industrial spying, and intellectual property rights. I guess you forgot that your fellow antitrumpers have been complaining about the "trade war" that he was supposed to have caused. Having it both ways?

And the talking about about some stupid Trumps neckties being made in China is really silly. If anybody is "heavily invested" it is a certain hunter-gatherer whose laptop has been blanked out in the media.

Xi being the dictator that 45 has praised on numerous occasions?

You do not publicly insult other leaders who your trying to negotiate deal with. Of course you put pressure on them, but public insults are hardly the way. That is a really childish accusation.

This is the most naive assessment I've ever seen of the China-Taiwan situation...laughable.

China vowed Wednesday that it will make a “proper and necessary response” if the U.S. proceeds with its latest planned arms sale to Taiwan.

The CCPs best hope is to get Biden as president. In that case, we go back to bad old days of subservience to China.
