Birds of a feather flock tougher and both know the USA will be stretched thin if there is a military crisis in both Asia and Europe.

Hey, they find themselves in the same situation. Only difference is Russia isn't as blatantly stupid as China's government has been and barging into every area they think they can get their greedy hands on.

Didn't Xi have anything to say about Russia annexing Ukraine's Crimea?

gokai_wo_manekuMay. 20, 2014 - 07:53PM JST The result of Obama's Asian pivot: Russia and China driven together.

This has absolutely nothing to do with President Obama or any US President. Sino-Russia have been very friendly since around 1993.

You can't push the willing and Russia and Communist China are as close to allies as you can get.

Any deal forged between two countries renowned for their 20th century cold war rhetoric, entrenched ideological division, and territorial confrontations, can never garner mutual trust..

President Putin wants to pump China full of natural gas, President Xi Jinping wants to haggle the deal to down to bite your arm off rates. Predictably there have been false starts, Gazprom would have to build a $20 billion pipeline to transport the 32 bn cubic meters of natural gas annually to the Chinese mainland, supply would not begin until late 2020, and would represent 22% of current consumption.

Now here's the rub, Russia want EU benchmark rates, China is haggling a central Asia import based rate.

Over the 10 year deal the margin is going to be harsh even on $350 per thousand cubic meters.

"Together Russia and China will be able to better influence world policy and steer away from pro american world order. Together those two couriers ( countries ) would be unstoppable."

Lord help us.

"Together holding the land, population, natural resources and of course the veto power at the UN table."

This why the UN is also known as the Useless Nations.

I just hope that one day russia and china use this power to influence global economy away from the self-righteous but quickly and mostly errelevant ( irrelevant ) US grip on the world."

Lord help us.

"Definitely glad I was born in the USSR."

The Russian sector, right?

China's Xi and Russia's Putin meet facing West's criticism

Reminds me of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.

They should call this one the Xi-Putin pact, but knowing the egos involved they would go to war to get their names placed first.

The result of Obama's Asian pivot: Russia and China driven together.

This is exactly right and only natural considering the hypocrisy of the west towards both countries. Together Russia and China will be able to better influence world policy and steer away from pro american world order. Together those two couriers would be unstoppable. Together holding the land, population, natural resources and of course the veto power at the UN table. I just hope that one day russia and china use this power to influence global economy away from the self-righteous but quickly and mostly errelevant US grip on the world. Definitely glad I was born in the USSR.
