‘This is another pandemic’: a female survivor of domestic abuse in China speaks out

Chinese cyberspace is filled with videos showing violence against women and activists say only real social change will stop the abuse

Seems to be a cultural problem and the courts aren't backing women who are attacked, raped, and worse. Then, because it doesn't show "social harmony", the govt censors these attacks and any video proof.

It’s China, anyone expect something different?

Women's rights are part of the Chinese Constitution, but like many laws it contains, they all disappear when anyone politically connected is the other party.

China has a terrible women's equality history, regardless of what any laws say. We don't have to go 50 yrs into the past to see this. Just in the last few years, there are numerous examples where the law and police have failed women.
