And I find it extremely interesting how you nearly always defend Communist China

?? I don't always defend them. They have a horrible track record.

then claim that the Communist Party of China isn't Communist

I've never claimed that. What I've pointed out is the fact that it's not a communist state. That's simply what the CCP would have you believe. It's their party line.

and that Communist China's actions are not threatening

They are extremely threatening, and I've never claimed otherwise.

Xi said a rising China would seek “peaceful” means to resolve territorial disputes....

If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth, eh Xi? That's why you're using force against Viet Nam and the Phillipines.....

I really don't care if China is "communist" or not. They're the aggressors in this and need to have an international coalition ready to stand up to them. If somebody had stood up to Nazi Germany (are "national socialists" "communists?" Maybe the common theme is one party rule?) we wouldn't have had WWII. I would like to avoid WWIII.

StrangerlandMay. 22, 2014 - 09:51PM JST China does not follow the tenets of communism, and therefore communist China does not exist. I find it interesting that you keep pushing the party line that they are communist.

And I find it extremely interesting how you nearly always defend Communist China, then claim that the Communist Party of China isn't Communist and that Communist China's actions are not threatening.

Now, back to reality, what is the title of Document Number 9? Was it, we aren't Communist and renounce Communism?

Answer is, no.....The title was....

Communiqué on the Current State of the Ideological Sphere

A Notice from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s General Office

Document Number 9 was a declaration of war against any type of reform or change within the Communist State. Anyone that isn't a Communist can see that Xi has been promoting a return to Maoism Communist values. Because he feared that the Communist regime was losing it's grip around the throat of the Chinese people.

So with one swift stroke and lots of political dissident disappearances, beating and arrest of journalists, arrest and beating of bloggers and crackdown of anyone that speaks out against the Communist Party Xi has managed to return Communist China back to the bad old days of Mao.

But, can he actually keep this up without scaring away customers? Remember, money talks and right now there is a whole lot of money in Communist china. And with this new found wealth comes political struggle. Can he continue his move to a more hardline Maoist state?

Only time will tell. But, as always I will correct you again, Communist China is Communist. If you don't believe it then go and read Document Number 9.

Veiled threats are the newest strategy coming out of Communist China.

China does not follow the tenets of communism, and therefore communist China does not exist.

I find it interesting that you keep pushing the party line that they are communist. They want people to believe they are communist, hence the party name. But anyone who hasn't been brainwashed by them knows they are not actually communist, but rather an oligarchy.

But Xi said: “China stays committed to seeking peaceful settlement of disputes with other countries over territorial sovereignty, and maritime rights and interests.”

Don't forget these words Xi or anyone else, bullying is not peaceful neither is ramming other nations vessels.

Veiled threats are the newest strategy coming out of Communist China. It knows that it can't force the US of A out of the Pacific without help.

Next it will begin flooding money into nations in the hopes of winning allies where there aren't any. Folks will take it's money, but no one will ever kowtow before it. So once more Communist China believes that it is more than it really is.

But, reality is one hell of a MotherF. Communist China is the most disliked nation in the whole of Asia and the most distrusted. No one will actually follow it. So, when that tactic fails it's only other recourse will be the classic Communist tactics of coercion, thuggery and Communist terror.

Communist China's Dream is leading the world to another World War and Communist China doesn't care.

Speaking at an Asian regional security forum in Shanghai, Xi said a rising China would seek "peaceful" means to resolve territorial disputes.

Communist China's idea of being a leader is by pointing a weapon at it's neighbors head and telling them to sign on the dotted line or the 9 Dash line.

SerranoMay. 22, 2014 - 08:03PM JST Gosh, all this misbehaving by the Russians and the Chinese...makes ya wonder if McCain had been in the White House since 2009 perhaps some of this misbehaving might not be taking place...

One big problem there, McCain picked someone who didn't know the job of the VP was. At least Biden had/has half a clue.

To beef up an entrenched or military alliance targeted at a third party is not conducive to maintaining common security," Xi said, without naming names.

Man I love those veiled threats..

The only reason that Xi is threatening his neighbor's is that he fears that the US of A might swat his nation across the nose with it's giant rolled up newspaper and told to sit in the corner if it keeps being bad.

Players from other parts of the world need to play a constructive role. They should refrain from starting fires and stoking flames, "it said in an editorial.

Communist China wants the US of A out so it can complete it's conquest of the South China sea. Communist China is also upset that Japan will be arming up and joining the rest of the world with a more modern military. That's why the 300 Communist here in Japan are marching and protesting against the removal of article 9 every chance they get.

Communist China knows that there are two real threats stopping it from achieving it's Communist Dream for the conquest of the whole of Asia. One is Japan and the other is the US of A.

Pot, Kettle, Black.

China's problem is that they expect to lay down the rules and others to "peacefully" follow them. Any kind of resistance is evidence of a country getting out of line. I sometimes wonder if they really believe others countries will go along with their plans to own everything, and sometimes I think it must be the case given their views about their neighbors.

They are completely inept when building allies. I thought they would learn a little something by this point but they seem to be doubling down on stupidity. What others see as aggression, I honestly think the Chinese see as a right.

Remember who owned the codes the algorithms to all the software developed for these technological weapon not China not Russia yes do I need to say! End game!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Russia still would not be dumb enough to sell China its more advanced weaponry as they already see how China behaves already with their theft and consistant abuse of neighbors not strong enough to stand up to them.

Things can go nasty here pretty soon. When are the other nations going to realize that China can't handle economic power wisely under the CCP? The democratic countries tried the "engage and include" economic trade to develop China's society and living standards under the hopes that the CCP would fall. Well they have a stranglehold they're unwilling to let go and they've assumed they're "rich" enough to start acting like a "big boy" super power by using that "wealth" to take aggressive measures against the rest of the region that they think they're entitled to. Looks like WW3 is going to start in Asia and Japan had better start forging stronger alliances. SK, Phillipines, Vietnam, Thailand, etc had better stop with the WW2 antagonism and deal with a more immediate threat.

Xi was speaking at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), a relatively obscure forum which China is seeking to build up in importance.

No longer obscure. Now making lots of people laugh.

Earlier this month, Southeast Asian leaders expressed “serious concern” over worsening territorial disputes in the area, calling for a peaceful resolution and presenting a rare united front against Beijing.

Formerly rare.

China’s official Xinhua news agency urged countries from outside Asia not to raise tensions.

“Players from other parts of the world need to play a constructive role. They should refrain from starting fires and stoking flames,” it said in an editorial.

And we'll get people saying "Pot, Kettle, Black". Please remind me which countries are sending ships to China and ramming anything sent out to stop them. Hmm, can Japan claim of all the Korean peninsular and coastal China because Wako (pirates) went there since "ancient times"?

Japan needs to gets its act together, letting short-sightedness go if it wants to be relevant in long term.

Japan needs to get it's act together and rearm. Now.

Xi said a rising China would seek “peaceful” means to resolve territorial disputes

Yes, that's true. After Xi has had all of his neighbours killed, there will be an abundance of peace. The dead don't talk you see. That peace will last all of five seconds, before China is nuked off the face of the planet. You want peace Xi? Here's a suggestion: shut up. Stop claiming other countries' territories as your own, stop making aggressive unilateral movements, stop deploying oil rigs in disputed waters, stop bullying your neighbours, and start acting like the adult you're supposed to be. China is the root cause of all this tension, and statements like this only escalate the tensions. Xi is the God of Idiots.

Speaking at an Asian regional security forum in Shanghai, Xi said a rising China would seek “peaceful” means to resolve territorial disputes.

Nonsense. China defines "peaceful" as it declaring that it has rights to the entire South China Sea and then bullying any country that contests it, because they hold such a huge advantage in military size/capability. But with the Asia pivot, the shoe is on the other foot, because China is seeing first hand what a true "blue-water" navy looks like, and the power that it can wield.

A state-owned Chinese newspaper took direct aim at the United States on the issue Wednesday, calling it a “mincing rascal”....

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney responded, "Oh, yeah? Well, you're a sashaying ragamuffin!" before giving a long raspberry while putting his fingers in his ears and wagging them.

‘But Xi said: “China stays committed to seeking peaceful settlement of disputes with other countries over territorial sovereignty, and maritime rights and interests.”

I seriously doubt that Xi is seeking or investing on political/diplomatic solutions at this juncture given recent Chinese records of handing territorial disputes with China’s neighbors.

Unfortunately, Ukrainian ongoing crisis has inevitably pushed Russia to build closer political, military and economic tie with China as a way to fence off the isolation exerted by the US and the West. As a direct result, we might see the G2 model tossed by Obama and Xi last year to be challenged in big way for short term and medium term. To make the matter worse, TPP, the economic leg of Obama’s Asia Pivot, is apparently blocked by American long-term ally – Japan. Four years has passed, we are still sitting pretty and just doing the talking without an agreement. Yet, today the Russians and the Chinese signed off a 400 billion dollars gas deal.

Japan needs to gets its act together, letting short-sightedness go if it wants to be relevant in long term.
