Chinese man becomes first to sue government over smog

I'd love to visit China and maybe some of the surrounding nations except that I know I'd have permanent respiratory problems just going there. I sincerely hope this man's case is successful because the last Chinese person I spoke to said, "its just fog" and when they sent me pictures of the place where they lived (quite far from Beijing) the sky was just filthy as well as the water. Both air and water pollution are detrimental to human habitation. One needs air to breath, and water to drink (so do the little tasty fish that we like to eat). Hopefully this will encourage a more reasonable approach to developing the country into a more environmentally conscious society. As it was said, "we have the technology...."

Now, I know a person can sue his Government in China if he/she hires an attorney.

You can see, smell of smog while the radiation is invisible, no odor. It is bad as well as smog. And yet, the Japanese government has been successfully hiding the danger of radiation leak to your health.

You are entitled to your personal opinions as I am. The day I see "rationality and balance" coming out of the Chinese dictatorship propaganda machine and their internet nationalist minions, and China stats behaving like it wants to be a cooperative and friendly member of the International Community, I may change my mind. Lu Guixin is a patriot who is standing up for what is right for the Chinese people, despite the odds heavily stacked against him. Those on the forum are supporters of the CCP dictatorship.

The Japanese government needs to clean up its own yard before criticizing others. You guys are not told the truth about the Fukushima nuke radiation disaster. Here is the most updated findings you should read. ALL Japanese citizens were/are exposed to radiation.

I don't think you are reading the posts carefully. All the posts are supportive of the man and are critical of the Chinese dictatorship government.

Would not want to be the nail that sticks up ANYWHERE in China. I'm sure China won't use a regular hammer but a 10kg sledge hammer instead. Great idea, wrong country to stage that lawsuit.

I'm not criticizing him, I am just wary of what is most likely going to happen to him.

Good for the country and the whole world!.....I pray for his safety and welfare while he stays in China.

Expect two or three more detainees in their political prison. Also, the Chinese will be blaming Japan for moving so many factories to China. They would not easily allow the Japanese to close down and move back to japan so the fault is obviously Japanese atrocities for going there in the first place. All these might sound funny but really, I expect that's how the Chinese will react to the smog.
