Well China can offer millions of educated, well re-educated people, to be used as the Taliban wish. And Afghanistan can in return ramp up drug production for the west. It’s a win win there.

They mostly want the mineral deposits and biomaterials indigenous to the area.
They can also sell them weapons in exchange for making sure no Urighurs cross their borders to escape China's grasp and/or military assistance and training for those people who want to fight Chinese oppression.

At least they can compare notes and have detailed discussions on the suppression of locals.

The Chinese are worried that Afghanistan will become a base for anti-Chinese, pro-Uyghur Islamic extremists. ISIS-K keeps them awake at night and Taliban are not prepared or equipped to control them.
