Cue the apologies & grovelling from Musk.

Gotta keep the Chinese masters happy

Gitta keep spewing that sweet anti-Elon propaganda.

Musk wants to keep making his cars cheaply in China, so yeah, he will apologize profusely over this.

Musk wants to keep making his cars cheaply in China,

The catch is his Model 3 starts at approx. $48, 000 (not including destination fees). Hardly cheap!

The Chinese 5=cent armee blast whatever the CCP wants them to. Right now, it is important to get the Uigur & Tibet genocide as well as Peng Shui out of the news. So they blast away at Musk.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Well, of course. After all, the CCP extracted some $275 billion in "concessions" from Tim Cook a few years ago. Wonder if Musk will play along or tell them to shove it?

They may not sell cheaply, but they are made cheaply in China, far cheaper than the US.

Musk wants to keep manufacturing in totalitarian China. Recipe for disaster.

11 billion dollars in tax and he is supposedly a “freeloader”.

plus he made me a lot of money that I will also pay tax on. As well as many others including the people who call him names.

Thanks Elon!

Plenty of social credit points for everyone who joined in

And is also still 11 BILLION dollars from one guy.

China is already claiming territory as theirs in space. Same old song.

Fighto!

They may not sell cheaply, but they are made cheaply in China, far cheaper than the US.

Not fair to single out Musk. Most Western big companies are heavily dependent on China production and the China market. Including media darlings like big pharma and "green" technology companies. And did you take a look at social influencers like Hollywood and the NBA?

@zaphod

you are correct, &

the sooner they all wean themselves off China, the better

But he makes it so easy. Suckle at the teat of government subsidies to prop up his failing companies, right up until his competitors start getting subsidies too. Then he’s all for cutting off tax-payer funding.

The guy’s a hack whose only successful company is the one he bought from someone else.

Musk/Tesla received $4.9 billion in government subsidies.

“This country has socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor.” Martin Luther King Jr.

This country has socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor.

Thanks for the reminder.

I've read the originator of the notion was Charles Abrams. "Socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor." But the point seems clear enough.

Again, thanks.
