Probably. His work is about the past not the present, and often in the 1947 period.

Oh wow...I'm so glad, he's really good, an excellent, compassionate author, poetry and humor even in tragedies.

Also he always describes very funny, absurd and raunchy encounters between ordinary men and women...he makes these raw, primordial human experiences very palpable.
