Trump is too toxic to be associated with.

The left had a right to protest but not to physically block the other side from exercising their legally protected right to march.

Don't know what Kal was doing there, in the first place. Probably a misguided sense of duty to the arts.

Still; this regressive, racist, divisive and evil Presidency is crumbling. It's good but the legacy from it will not disappear overnight.

There will still be nazis and there will still be those who see nothing wrong with them.

@Lizz - I disdain Trump and more so disdain the white nationalists, however I agree with you. The ACLU actually intervened, on behalf of the white nationalists, and defended their right to have the rally.

I think Trump handled the situation terribly and is a buffoon. He is not capable of running the country. I would like though to know what exactly in his response to what happened was "hateful". I live in Japan so I did not hear all of what was said. If someone could point that out it would be appreciated. The things I did hear him say (although he sounded a bit infantile) were perhaps inappropriate or ill timed but I did not hear anything hateful. Furthermore the comparisons to "Nazi" or "KKK" are a bit tiresome as his son in law is a conservative Jew who does not work on the Sabbath and his grandchildren are being raised Jewish.

There is more than enough to criticize Trump for but it seems to me some of the comparisons only take away form the logical arguments against him.

Personally I think he should resign as it is obvious he is not capable of leading the country or uniting the population (which maybe no one can do at this point anyway).

One America News did an excellent extended report on the Charlottesville incident tonight - at least three journalists were attacked, including one who needed several staples to close a wound in her head. The entire affair has got to be investigated by the Department of Justice as a violation of civil rights - the freedom of speech of those with a permit who were denied the right to assemble and speak, and now the freedom of the press to do their job.....

I am glad these Marxist apologists quit. Most of the violence came from Antifa and BLM.

"Supremacy, discrimination, and vitriol are not American values. Your values are not American values.

Well said. Trump's followers are a minority in the US and do not reflect the values of the majority of Americans. It’s unfortunate but not surprising that many of the followers Trump called ‘poorly educated’ have been influenced by FOX ‘news’, Alex Jones and other rightwing Americans spouting bigoted vitriol, which has then been further spread by the ‘international’ troll army.

@rawbeerivic I am glad these Marxist apologists quit.

Curious that the PutinTrump crowd said people who criticized Trump’s white male house were on a witch hunt, reminiscent of the McCarthy days when rightists were finding commies lurking everywhere. Now the same PutinTrump crowd are saying those opposing Trump and neo-nazis are commies. No question some of those involved in anti-neo-nazi protests identify as Communists. Some identify as nihilists, others as anarchists, but some - most?- are peaceful people frightened by neo-nazis, who represent the ugliest side of American society. Kudos to those who peacefully oppose neo-nazis.

Even if this were true; which it isn't - it's just demonisation of ordinary folk, black and white - I'd rather have them standing up for my rights than nazis and KKK.

How is Kal a Marxist, btw? His heart is in the right place but he's bourgeoise. Certainly something Karl and Friedrich would turn in their graves over.

@RawBeer Yes, now Trump can bring in all his white supremacist and Nazi friends.

You're right. Some are and some are not. I am speaking of the many different groups identified in the Durham Confederate statue that was pulled down. The groups identified in the Routers article were definitely communist in name. As far as I'm concerned, let these right and left extremist groups alone. They are so small in numbers it shouldn't matter. But when they start going around tearing down statues, then they must be arrested and called out. I don't like the neonazis. Can the left people here say the same thing about their extremist groups who fomented the violence in Charlottesville, as well as the Mayor and Govoner?

How cute that they felt the need to spell out "resist" in code. What are they 12 years old?

Kal Penn is a Left wing activist- hardly ordinary folk. And would you really want Marxists and Anarchists standing up for your rights? Neither the far Right nor the far Left are interested in the rights of individuals.

The Nazi's and the Klan have a long and well known agenda. The Antifa and BLM are newer to the consciousness of the average citizen but they both have roots in radical politics and violent movements. Both have major Marxist influences. Marxism is a toxic authoritan ideology. Millions have been killed in nations the world over by its adherents.

Maria Chappell-Nadal a Missouri state senator and ardent supporter of Marxist's such as the murdering thug Che Guavara just called for the assassination of President Trump. That is the state of politics in America today. Mainline Democrats are calling for assassinations and a Republican president is slow to condemn Nazi's. This after 8 years of a Dem president unable to condemn radical Islamic terrorism by name.
