Always amazes me how gullible people are when it comes to revolutions and how they so dearly want to believe better times are ahead when often the opposite is true. Watching "The last king of Scotland" about Idi Amin's regime in Uganda is quite fascinating for example.

It is Egypts version of the Iranian islamist revolution, and like Jimmy Carter made the disastrous mistake of helping Khomeinj to take over and create his Shia-style shariah dictatorship, Obama made the disastrous mistake of helping Morsi to take over and establish his Sunni-style shariah dictatorship.

And, like in Iran, the islamists of course will never give back the power once they have it.

It is like Western politicians simply refuse to learn.

No, it is not. The Copts in Egypt are only a meagre 5% of the population, and they will simply be beaten down by the Sunni muslim masses. And there are hardly any Shia, Druzes, or other minorities in Egypt, it is Sunni islam throughout, and with the Muslim Brotherhood in power, it is not Sunni fundamentalist islam. Don´t think Lebanon.... think Saudi Arabia.

This kind a thing happens through out history.

The French revolution comes to mind where the Burbon dynasty was over thrown only to be replaced by Robespierre a tyrant himself got executed during the Thermidorian Reaction.

Dr. Morsi had to apply such rules in order to protect the country from the followers of Mubarak who still possess lots of power and money. Going with this rules, the constitution should be ready in 2 months after the approval of the Egyptian people. After that an election of the Parliament can be done. Whenever a Parliament is elected, it will be responsible of putting the rules according to the new constitution and the power of Morsi will be limited.

Shouldn't be hearing these words in a countries leadership title, "Islamist President", what if every nation had to go by a religious/political leader title? "Christian President of the US" or "Buddhist Prime Minister of Japan" etc?

HonestDictator - it is not just his religion - the Muslim Brotherhood of which he was a member until immediately before the election - banned in Egypt as a terrorist group until the revolution, is a parent group of both Hamas, and spawned guys like Al Zawahiri - ideological leaders of Al Qaeda.

It's not just a statement of which temple he goes to. He is politically alligned with a religious political party with some pretty extreme world views...

Still congrats to him on winning the election, and best of luck to secular Egypt (and granted, the secular dictators of Egypt did everything to justify their removal).
