Government and Russian-backed separatist forces

Many in the Azov Battalion have unabashed Ukrainian nationalist sympathies, prompting rebels to label them neo-fascists. From time to time, Azov fighters in Shyrokyne greeted one another with ironic Roman salutes and then grinned at their own humor

Here the problem - Russian with all its heart hate Nazi .

So they have no intention to live together with these good guys in one state.

And after- putsh governement strongly bet on Nazi troops in creating a "new Ukraine"

Here a real base for the conflict : one side can't live without Nazi and other side can't live with Nazi

Weasel worded headline to begin with. This apparently an isolated area. Combat in that area does not make the entire truce a mockery. Then who is responsible for the truce violations. I think it is likely the far right and, yes, fascist Avov Battalilion. The far right Right Sector said they would not honor the truce, so it is likely the Azov are not either.

Do not trust the main stream media, speak nearly always with one voice.

@BB

Having a loyalty problem with your army Poroshenko?

Exactly. Many of the generals in Ukranian army have been trained in Soviet union and nobody knows where their loyalties lie.

@Olegek This doesn't make much sense. The half of the Azov battalion actually are Russian origin East-Ukranians. Why they would fight for the "New Ukraine", if they would shoot themselves to the foot by doing so?

On the other hand the peace plans dictates that unofficial armies would be disbanded and honest elections would be made. (East Ukraine would have the autonomy.) International forces would watch that everything goes smoothly. Why this is unacceptable for the rebels?

To repeat. The Nazi Right Sector declared the the East Ukraine rebels (or patriots) were terrorists and they would not honor the truce. It would be fair to guess that the Azov Battalion is following suit. We are not explicitly told who violated the truce first in this article. The Mainstream media speaks with virtually one voice in the matter and should be doubted--or presumed to be propaganda before proven otherwise.

Again please note that the truce so far has been largely successful. How long it will hold is anyone's guess.

Nazis! Nazis everywhere! They are coming to Russia's borders! How many? Less than 500, but, trust me when I say that they are in complete control of a The Ukraine and they are coming for us! Mighty Russia is trembling!

I'm guessing these Nazis were around when Russia controlled The Ukraine, right? And the Russians certainly didn't mind working with the "mayor of "Donbass." a self-proclaimed Nazi who is part of a a Russian Nazi group. Is that being reported on in Moscow?

hameln Having a loyalty problem with your army Poroshenko? Exactly. Many of the generals in Ukranian army have been trained in Soviet union and nobody knows where their loyalties lie.

Sorry - for 22 years Ukraine is a independent state. Ukrainian government have a lot of time to reorganize army and grow up loyal generals officers and soldiers.

22 years !! Approximately one generation !

And if Ukrainian generals after 22 years of independence still loyal to Moscow.... than Ukraine is a fake...

@Olegek This doesn't make much sense. The half of the Azov battalion actually are Russian origin East-Ukranians. Why they would fight for the "New Ukraine", if they would shoot themselves to the foot by doing so?

Noup, there were no Jews in the Waffen SS. There are no Russian in Ukrainian Nazi combat teams.

Ukrainian Nazi battalions formed in West and Cental part of the country from Ukrainian nationalists. They come to south-east to kill Russian population.

It's a normal ethnical conflict. And not about Democracy vs Totalitarism

On the other hand the peace plans dictates that unofficial armies would be disbanded and honest elections would be made. (East Ukraine would have the autonomy.) International forces would watch that everything goes smoothly. Why this is unacceptable for the rebels?

Today it is no strong central power in Kiev. Nobody can dissolve "unofficial armies" . To say the truth - any organised group with weapons in modern Ukraine can control some area gain money and form it's own "policy"

There are no "Ukrainian state" at all. For example - most famous Ukrainian oligarch Kolomoisky - controlled significant part of the country has his own army and did not obey central government

And Ukrainian parliament - Rada - totally refused to give special status to south -east (even temporary) and declared these territory - "occupied"

And the population of south -east that not supported Kiev's politicians - "terrorists"

Still waiting to hear about the reporting in Russia regarding working with Nazis in Donbass. Surely it must have been front page news since Nazis are coming to take over Moscow.
