Sadly, that’s the Democrats doing.

"It's all someone else's fault!"

Do you wake up like this everyday?

Little Don, Joe and Mikey went to the Library...

When they came home, Joe and Mikey had several books in their backpacks that they didn't check out. They both called the Library and admitted they took the books by accident, They returned the books the same day and said the Library can come to their houses and check to see if there are any more....'

Don had a backpack full of books, When he came home he hid the books in his closet and said nothing. When the Library found these books missing they called Don - Don refused to answer the phone. The police then came to Don's house - Don refused them entry. The police got a warrant - and found over 30 books. Don said they were his, not the Library's. Don's parents sent a formal letter to the police saying no more Library books were at his house but someone living there said there were more. The police searched and found 20 more books. Don then said he used his mind to own all the books by "thinking" about it. Don now says he took only the book covers, not the books.

Don is in big trouble...

It seems Pence, like Biden, is doing the right thing to keep himself out of jail, and not obstructing, but rather voluntarily bringing himself into compliance.

He may be a bit of a weasel, but he's generally a pretty ethical one.

Bass: This further weakens Garland case to try and politically use indictment as a weapon to stop Trump from running

Wait, what?

Garland's priority is to get any indictment so Trump can't run again? That seems pretty far fetched. Can you tell me your source?

Hmmmm

Trump told the Proud Boys to stand by

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump told the Proud Boys to stand by

And then he told them to march on and attack the Capitol

Trump called the Proud Boys heroes.

The newest discovery, which was first reported by CNN, thrusts Pence, who had previously insisted that he followed stringent protocols regarding classified documents, into the debate over the handling of secret materials by officials who have served in the highest ranks of government.

It is just everyone pointing fingers at everybody, and all guilty.

Neo-con war criminals Bush and Cheney criticize Trump. Theocrat fanatic Pence tries to take the high ground against seditionist opportunist Trump. Democrat neo-liberals impoverishing working Americans attack alt-right Republican antics.

The duopoly has become a farce.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Good point, wallace. The GOP wants to investigate Biden over docs but refuse to do the same with Trump. Let's see how this plays out.

I'm not a Pence fan, but I don't think he's stealing docs. There are probably a few of them circulating around at houses somewhere. Biden and Pence did the honorable thing in turning themselves in. Trump decided to make a farce of himself.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Looks like Trump is still the document champion. But Trump people think the way Trump did it was ok and the way Biden did is criminal. Trump people think that (still) Marolago is part of the WH and it's ok for classified docs to stay there.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump when he was president had a 60-minute secret meeting with Putin without it recorded.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Trump said nothing on Jan 6 about the riot and instead hid in a darkened TV room refusing to listen to his advisors and daughter Ivanka to call in the National Guard.

White House counsel and White House officials testified that Trump did not make any calls to the secretary of defense, the attorney general or the secretary of homeland security during the siege.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Pence isn't a pathalogical liar, so I'll give him the benefit of my doubts, until he obstructs and stops cooperating.

This seems to be a systematic problem of politicians. I know if I'd taken any classified material home, I'd have been fined and may have seen jail time, just for removing them from approved locations.

Again, the last week of any national politician in office should have FBI teams searching the personal residences and removing all things classified. President, VP, Senators and House members.

Make each member sign a paper committing that they've had their people search already and have provided XX documents uncovered.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Don't forget that Trump will have to deal with the local prosecutor in Georgia....that is Republican red Georgia

6 ( +6 / -0 )

It sounds like an oversight, and unintentional, rather like the Biden case.

No evidence of wilfully withholding docs or obstruction unlike a certain ex-elected official I could name

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Anyone who served at high levels in any government office is likely to have LEFTOVERS in his garage or offices, as for Trump he took the documents and denied having them then tried to hide them.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump had 11,000 documents.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Trump did as well.

Exactly. He talked to them and said "they are mine and screw off" Yes he did work with the FBI Trump style.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

This entire issue is a matter only for American voters anyway.

Actually, It's a matter for the DOJ for Trump as he is not in office, not protected by OLC guidance anymore and now subject to the law for crimes committed after he left office.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It's beginning to look as though it's fashionable for these bigwigs to have top secret documents scattered around the house.

There is a systematic problem in how classified materials are stored and handled within the White House. In the military one must go to special secure spaces to view classified materials. They have to be checked out and checked back in. Somebody is responsible for ensuring they stay within the secure space and are returned to their proper safe when the user is done. Each night the check out sheets are double checked and if all is well, the safes are closed and locked. You never have classified material outside a classified space unless it is with a courier who has special training how to handle such material in transit.

But my guess is those rules are not applied in the White House so national leaders can conduct business from their usual desks, including classified business, rather than have to traipse down the hall and maybe to another floor to view a classified document. They are accustomed to being spoon fed, er, I mean briefed, at their desks, and as a result classified materials get co-mingled with all the other papers on their desk, then get packed up hurriedly when they leave. That's just a guess but I will bet it is pretty close to the truth.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It has become a merry-go-round. So will the Republicans launch another investigation like with Biden? Republican supporters demanded to know why a VP had classified documents, so now?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Biden and Pence did the honorable thing in turning themselves in. Trump decided to make a farce of himself.

And there's plenty of photographs that shows Trump's guilt. Scads of boxes, documents spread out all over the floor. Many of them 'Top Secret'. Never mind the secret closed meetings he had with his Master Vladimir. 'I can do what I waaaaaaant', Don the Con whined. Even now he's sneering, 'Witch hunt! All set up! Wah! Try to smear me! Bluuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.....!'. He just doesn't know how to shut up.

Say what you will about Biden and Pence but at least they're cooperating with the FBI and DOJ, not screaming like sassy brats like Traitor Trump always does.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Wait, what?

Garland's priority is to get any indictment so Trump can't run again? That seems pretty far fetched.

Yes, indeedy. Garland's priority is rather to keep the corrupt duoploy from imploding by providing off-ramps for the powerful and slipping get-out-of-jail-free cards to an ex-Potus and his accomplices in crime among the politicians and their dark money paymasters.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

@lincolnman, that is the best and most succinct description of the situation imaginable. Bravo!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

This is hilarious, but what is even more hilarious is watching all the Repubs who downplayed Trump's stolen classified stash, then went apoplectic when Biden's was discovered, now are having brain freeze when asked about their hero Pence...

That is except for some of Pence's 2024 rivals....

“No one is above the law," added Republican Sen. Rick Scott, another potential 2024 candidate. “I don’t know how anybody ends up with classified documents. ... I mean, every classified document I’ve ever seen has a big ‘Classified’ on it."

Repub Rick Scott turning the screws on Pence.....ROFL....

Asked by AP if he took any classified material with him after leaving the administration, Pompeo replied, “no,” adding, “No one should have classified information out of the appropriate place for classified information, anytime, full stop, period.”

Repub Pompeo getting in his shot at his former VP...and 2024 rival...

So when will we hear from the Ultra MAGA King? How about Nikki Haley? Little Marco? Who's the next Repub to diss Pence?

This will just cause the Repub Civil War to get even bigger as the RINOs do their best to protect Pence and the MAGA-maniacs go ballistic...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Cute how liberals think any Trump supporter cares about anything Mike Pence does any more.

As long as he doesn’t go against Trump’s coup attempts. Then they’ll want to hang him.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Seems to me that whatever agency is responsible for keeping track of classified documents has done a pretty bad job over the years. Even the library seems better at keeping track of the books it lends out.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I know if I'd taken any classified material home, I'd have been fined and may have seen jail time

Not true unless you were intending on selling them to North Korea or something. I read about this in an article. Let's say you are an engineer working on a high security government project and did some work at home (especially with COVID-19 these days). You move on or retire but discover classified docs in your house remain (or they later realize and tell you). You simply give them back and explain... sorry...etc and it's then the issue is closed.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Mike (like Joe) did it right.

Made a mistake. Self-report, get it out.

No subpeona needed.

No search warrant needed.

No obstruction of justice.

And that is why Mike and Joe are not going to be charged (although Joe is going to take a political hit) and Don is.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It's beginning to look as though it's fashionable for these bigwigs to have top secret documents scattered around the house.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

A VP? Oh my.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

And told them to stand down, listen to law enforcement and leave peacefully.

This isn't even remotely true or accurate.

He told them to stand back and stand by which they correctly interpreted to be a call to be ready to take (illegal) action.

On the day of the attempted coup, he said nothing UNTIL his coup had already failed.

THEN to cover his behind, he said "We love you, go home in peace" and a whole host of falsehoods. And that was AFTER his attempted coup had failed and he had to be dragged into doing even that much.

There is a word for falsehoods that one knows to be false but states anyway.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Source?

It's just coming out now, to be widely reported.

Or history. Either one.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Nobody will convince MAGA warriors that their “arguments” are utter nonsense. When facts and solid logic are presented, they are swatted away with ROFLs and “because libs say so?”s. Time to close down the thread. The same thing will happen day after day.

Lincolnman’s excellent analogy was spot on, and there has been no legitimate response to it.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

In all honesty, does anyone think the (V)POTUS does his own administrative work or is it really his team that does it.

And how often are executive summaries containing classified information written and updated. Just feels like perhaps some of the documents referenced are copies or summaries written and presented by the respective teams.

Perhaps there isn't as much spoon feeding as I presume there to be.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Democratics and Republicans both a shambles. I don't know how anybody but the most extreme left or right wing can defend either side anymore.

Entire country (very sadly) becoming a joke and needs an entire reset.

Trump, Biden, Harris etc etc - All should just disappear from politics and let a new generation find their feet.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

yes, you are right about one thing. Garland has a “conundrum.” It is that Trump whack jobs want to pretend (lie) that Trump behaved in the same fashion as Biden and Pence.

No, its the law, Dershowitz, Turley, both Hillary supporters and the best legal minds in the nation said so. I trust their political expertise over any media outlet.

He did not. To say he did is a deliberate lie. Deliberate. Lie.

If you want to use the partisan liberal media CNN, NYT and msnbc standards, probably.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

What a pathetic farce, it is not known which is worse, that is the political class that is leading the US to its own ruin..

Democrats are a farce but Republicans are a much bigger farce, the country adrift giving millions of dollars to the kyiv regime while the country is falling apart in shootings, drugs and corruption..

Meanwhile on the other side of the world, China is moving forward to the success..

What a pathetic circus, lol...

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Biden is the President, the President can legally have access to any Classified docs, without any legal consequences

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Assange has been in jail for many years and these only get a slap in the hand.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Actually, It's a matter for the DOJ for Trump as he is not in office,

True, but the way it's looking, Garland seems to have lost the upper hand in this.

not protected by OLC guidance anymore and now subject to the law for crimes committed after he left office.

True, but now that Pence has been thrown into the mix it complicates things further for Garland. Trump must be laughing his booty off. I sure did.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

no, not for the same charge. Only one of the 3 took a swing at the cop, Bass.

No, the same charge, classified documents were taken.

I realize this point seems to elude you, but these are in no way “identical” cases.

No, I think reality seems to elude you. Again, Garland knows he has a conundrum on his hands. Either all 3 men walk or he takes a partisan approach, he knows politically he has no room to stand on, even Dick Durbin admitted that much. Not a fan of the man, but even he knows the jig is up and Joe has nothing.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

No crime here.

And it will not make a difference come election time.

This entire issue is a matter only for American voters anyway.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Mike (like Joe) did it right.

Taking documents as VP?? Did it right? I guess anyone can get them, maybe I can as well.

Made a mistake. Self-report, get it out.

As did Trump and the DOJ discussions they had.

No subpeona needed.

No search warrant needed.

For the same charge...dunno...if it's not political, Garland needs to think very fast as to how he wants to deal with this, charge all 3 or exonerate all 3.

No obstruction of justice.

Not for jump constitutionally, Biden and Pence....different story.

And that is why Mike and Joe are not going to be charged (although Joe is going to take a political hit) and Don is.

Naw, it looks like no one will be charged and if that was the plan of Garland, he would never outlive the scrutiny and public condemnation of presiding over an already deplorable and corrupt DOJ, so if he doesn't want more attacks on him and his agency, he either plays fairly or he admits we have a  two-tier justice system and he's just a partisan hack and just charge Trump.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

wow, who would have thought of such a concept? Certainly not your side. where is the screaming about hoaxes and witch hunts? Not sure what you hoped to prove with this.

Democrats are getting tired of Biden and as Durbin said as well as other Democrats, they know Biden has now nothing on Trump and they have to hold one standard otherwise they will have even less validity than they already have.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Bass, you should reread Lincolmans neat little story over and over again.

ROFL!

Maybe by the 75th time you will realize what’s missing from your position

Nothing.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Not supported by any data or evidence of any kind.

Because you say so? Why?

And again, just lazy. When one cannot even be bothered to write in complete sentences, and depends on copy/paste, are one's "thoughts" even worthy of consideration?

You did the same, not to mention make hilarious predictions that haven't panned out over 7 years.

In the educated world, the answer is a solid "no."

I would disagree, vehemently.

This isn't even remotely true or accurate.

Wrong! Very accurate.

https://www.rfi.fr/en/international/20210106-trump-tells-capitol-storming-mob-of-supporters-to-go-home-peacefully

He told them to stand back and stand by which they correctly interpreted to be a call to be ready to take (illegal) action.

He also said: "You have to go home now, we have to have peace,"

On the day of the attempted coup, he said nothing UNTIL his coup had already failed.

Ahh, but he did say to step down on that day. Which day was that? January 6th.

THEN to cover his behind, he said "We love you, go home in peace" and a whole host of falsehoods. And that was AFTER his attempted coup had failed and he had to be dragged into doing even that much.

You can flip that logic around and say that Trump wanted a peaceful protest and the left only focused on the tragic part.

There is a word for falsehoods that one knows to be false but states anyway.

No, the left is just ticked off because their plans at trying to get Trump once again have been foiled and miserably.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

.

Democrats are a farce but Republicans are a much bigger farce, the country adrift giving millions of dollars to the kyiv regime while the country is falling apart in shootings, drugs and corruption..

Garland's priority is to get any indictment so Trump can't run again?

Yes.

That seems pretty far fetched.

Can you tell me your source?

History.

Trump said nothing on Jan 6 about the riot and instead hid in a darkened TV room refusing to listen to his advisors and daughter Ivanka to call in the National Guard.

We heard that that's one part of the narrative and the other part he wanted a peaceful protest, so we have two parts of the situation. Anyway, the J6 hearings are done, now we can focus back on Trump, Pence, and Biden as related to the documents.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

I'm not a Pence fan, but I don't think he's stealing docs. There are probably a few of them circulating around at houses somewhere. Biden and Pence did the honorable thing in turning themselves in. Trump decided to make a farce of himself.

This further weakens Garland case to try and politically use indictment as a weapon to stop Trump from running, this has become a nightmare for the guy.

Biden’s as well.

Many of them 'Top Secret'.

Biden had them in his Corvette, you serious and as a former VP???

Never mind the secret closed meetings he had with his Master Vladimir.

There were No documents confirming this.

*'I can do what I waaaaaaant', Don the Con whined. Even now he's sneering, 'Witch hunt! All set up! Wah! Try to smear me! Bluuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.....!'. He just doesn't know how to shut up. *

Biden thought so, we want him to shut up and he keeps talking as if it’s ok to just take whatever documents he wants and even Dick Durbin said, Biden lost the high ground on this issue and other Democrats are now calling for an investigation.

At least Pence and Trump had legitimate reasons for having those documents.
