BIden will not run.

Good choice. I don't see what he brings to the table we Dems don't already have. Other than, of course, his recent promise to work with Republicans... [Roll eyes]

Biden jusr finished his speech at Rose Garden, He will not run. .

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Political eunuch Biden is predicting at last minute Hillary will fall on head for second time and he will take over almost finish job.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

I still think men candidates should either dye hair or use a wig so that tfey did not look seniled. They were in Vegas where manymale hair dressers work for males.

Have to agree with much of Ralph Nader's analysis of the debate here:

I disagree with this headline. My guessia that DEM people are tired to wait his slow attitude. Beside that he is nothing to attract Hispanlc voters, Jebb, Trump,Hillary, all think about them.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wasn't say that so I'm guessing you missed my point. No big deal, let's move on.

MarkG: Today's Democratic Party is like this, "What can your country do fo you?" Now isn't this what we are seeing? What a 180 degree reversal.

This is what Republicans talk about when they want to avoid their party's implosion and potential default on the national debt. How's the speaker's vote going, by the way? Seems like no one wants it. Your party is completely toxic right now and no one has any way out.

But please, continue on about Obama.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Of course none of that is a result of the structural change brought about by the Great Recession under GOP rule. It's all because Obama came into office and tanked the economy.

So what you're saying is, you should justify bad behavior with MORE bad behavior? Well, I guess the next president will blame Obama for destroying the country because it'll take TWO full terms to fix the country after what the Democrats have done screwing it up.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Because the current democratic part is suicidal to the nation and their heads are so deep in the sand they can't even consider it. Instead they attack, accuse, deflect and label others KD.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

A welfare state cannot co-exist with open borders, yet democrats advocate both positions.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Obama had nearly seven years to reboot the economy! When the GOP nominee is elected in 13 months will he or she be credited for national debt reduction or will you libs credit Obama?

And for you Socialists out there, USA can in nowadays be compared to Denmark, Sweden or Norway. USA has generations of entitlement recipients. I love those countries and they are very well managed unlike USA where greed steps in and mismanagement takes place. Hillary claims to have left th White House broke.....look at them now! Will the Clintons willingly pay 90% tax? Not in the real world!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I think DEM will sett;e with Hillary in order to keep 4 more yrs in WH. Now, GOP may have chance with Jebb as he will steal Latino rooted voters from DEM. He has own campaign fund and he does not have to beg in Vegas like Rubio is doing. Unless Hillary choose Latino rooted established DEM politician as her VP choice. Jebb has a good chance,

1 ( +1 / -0 )

From a famous democratic president -"ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

Today's Democratic Party is like this, "What can your country do fo you?" Now isn't this what we are seeing? What a 180 degree reversal.

I guess I am an old school democrat.

Obamacare....enrollment down, costs up, uninsured growing. Do some research, it's there.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

bass: Hmmmm....with 45 million on Food Stamps and 50 million homeless, 49% of college graduates can't get a job,

Of course none of that is a result of the structural change brought about by the Great Recession under GOP rule. It's all because Obama came into office and tanked the economy.

Denmark --- Hillary knew where and aize while others had no idea what was discussed. Also, others did not know comm collges and state U in Calif are tuition free, Just raised reg fees. Gow messy now and recommending free univ. for everybody. They were talking like Ubnv will be juvenile detention center.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Denmark wouldn't be a bad target.

Then to all the people that want FREE stuff should move there. "Ses dig senere go kom ikke tilbage."

Many in the GOP/American Taliban would have the US resemble Saudi Arabia in terms of barking mad religiosity along with even deeper wealth inequality.

Hmmmm....with 45 million on Food Stamps and 50 million homeless, 49% of college graduates can't get a job, I would say the Dem/ISIS government dependency cult have already had a head start.

You're improving. The use of 'most' is very encouraging. While we are here, is 'everyone' still after your guns?

Pretty much.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

'Sanders actually debated ideas. Some people can't get their heads around that rather quaint idea.'

'About turning the US into Denmark and promising about $39 Trillion on top of the $20 Trillion in massive entitlements. As usual most liberals are extremely bad at math, I keep forgetting that.'

All of these people are qualified to be President. That bar isn't really very high. Over 35 yrs old and born as a US citizen.

The debate was entertainment, not good entertainment, but entertainment on some level. Trump is more entertaining, but the thought of him or Ms. Clinton being President scares me.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Already some insured have had 200-600% increases is that for the greater good?

That comment would show that you don't really understand the meaning of 'greater good'.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Does Biden have his own decision? He is slow poke waiting for boss's command all the time

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I wasn't trying to be funny with the Washington Post idea. Why would you take that as trying to be funny? You work for the Washington Post - a very respected publication which I read from time to time and I'd just like to know what your colleagues ( among them some very knowledgeable world-class journalists ) think about the relative strengths and weaknesses of both parties. That's all. I'm sorry if you think that is rude or intrusive.

Instead of speculating, I think the best way to get a better Idea of what some of the other journalists are thinking is too keep reading and to keep a lookout for the particular journalist that you like.

Sanders actually debated ideas. Some people can't get their heads around that rather quaint idea.

About turning the US into Denmark and promising about $39 Trillion on top of the $20 Trillion in massive entitlements. As usual most liberals are extremely bad at math, I keep forgetting that.

Indeed it does. At taxpayer expense. Over and over. But the liberal conspiracy must be exposed! You go Trey!

Now all of a sudden liberals care about tax payer expenses? So basically if a scandal can be costly to the Democratic base it's OK, but if it doesn't apply to them then it's a conspiracy theory all of sudden? Hypocrisy, hypocrisy....

Yes, this is a clear outrage that is not politically driven in any way, as demonstrated by Kevin McCarthy and his suicide bombing of the GOP. Fox-viewing Americans want the truth

That's 120 million minds that want to know. That's really huge!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The refuse to budge an inch on their positions!

Ah - thanks for reminding me about another GOP lie, Mark - sequestration! The GOP wants to renege on the deal, raising defense spending while cutting elsewhere, and plan to hold US credit hostage if they don't get their way.

Planned Parenthood? - please. The GOP position on this is worse than a lie: it is a mistake. Not only does it alienate some 86% of Americans, it inhibits scientific research. But what else can we expect from the "party of stupid" ( in Jindal's words).

Prediction: Benghazi investigations will continue until the day of the 2016 elections and not a smidgen after. Whoever wins, their purpose will have been complete.

"Clinton under federal investigation" - you must have missed the NYT mae culpa for that - but go ahead and believe it if it rocks your boat. It is, however, completely untrue.

So thanks for proving my point, MarkG. How's the weather in your bubble?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

have recently been exposed in selling fetus tissue. Will you or anyone condone that? The services are a fo profit service couldn't the newly covered obamacare insured just go to any hospital for the same services? Why are the majority of PP offices in minority areas?

Fo profit, yo! All facts! It's a liberal conspiracy!

Benghazi.....the investigation continues.

Indeed it does. At taxpayer expense. Over and over. But the liberal conspiracy must be exposed! You go Trey!

The Clinton emails.....Hillary is under a Federal investigation. She has potential to be indighted! This is no GOP driven issue.

And who really killed JR? Inquisitive minds want to know.

'The Clinton emails.....Hillary is under a Federal investigation. She has potential to be indighted! This is no GOP driven issue. Not to mention he lies referring to the emails over the preceding months. And with this Bernie Sanders discounts the importance of emails!!! Sanders could have questioned Hillary's credibility at minimum.....he did not. Almost as if he doesn't want the nomination.'

The Bernie Sanders moment when he focused attention on what matters most to people who've been screwed for decades was absolutely excellent. Sanders actually debated ideas. Some people can't get their heads around that rather quaint idea.

Heh, more Americans watched the Mets vs. the Dodgers (also shown on cable TV) than the Democratic Party "debate" moderated by a member of the Clinton Global Initiative and attended by professional race baiter Je$$e Jack$on and the Real Wives from somewhere. . . .

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Laguna....your somewhat misguided. The full effects of obamacare won't kick in until 2017 and it's not in favor of the middle class. Already some insured have had 200-600% increases is that for the greater good?

Ask Obama and Harry Reed about governing he house. The refuse to budge an inch on their positions! It my may or the magical executive pen!

Planned parenthood is funded to the tune of a half billion dollars and the have recently been exposed in selling fetus tissue. Will you or anyone condone that? The services are a fo profit service couldn't the newly covered obamacare insured just go to any hospital for the same services? Why are the majority of PP offices in minority areas?

@Bass I see. So,I can totally disregard your comment about there being nothing to attack the GOP on apart from Bush. Ok. Sorted and out of the way. Yet another one for the bin.

I wasn't trying to be funny with the Washington Post idea. Why would you take that as trying to be funny? You work for the Washington Post - a very respected publication which I read from time to time and I'd just like to know what your colleagues ( among them some very knowledgeable world-class journalists ) think about the relative strengths and weaknesses of both parties. ...the GOP on, but they don't have a problem with lying to people the way Dems have been doing,

Global warming. Supply-side economics. Replacing Obamacare without 17 million losing insurance. Ability to govern the House. Benghazi. Planned Parenthood. In fact, the list of things the GOP does not lie about seems shorter than that about which they do.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

There are a lot of things I can attack the GOP on, but they don't have a problem with lying to people the way Dems have been doing, I'll agree, they can be pushy on many issues, but trying to eat the cake without being caught is something that the Dems are masters of.

I know you are, but what am I?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Are you sticking by that statement?

There are a lot of things I can attack the GOP on, but they don't have a problem with lying to people the way Dems have been doing, I'll agree, they can be pushy on many issues, but trying to eat the cake without being caught is something that the Dems are masters of.

As a non-partisan, you see nothing to attack in the GOP at this moment in time?

Such as....

Have your colleagues at the Washington Post put their fingers on anything

If you think when you can get me annoyed or get a rise out of me or get under my skin, it's not working. Libs are not good at comedy, just leave it.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

@Bass You didn't answer my question. You said you cannot attack the GOP apart from attacking Bush.

Are you sticking by that statement? As a non-partisan, you see nothing to attack in the GOP at this moment in time? Have your colleagues at the Washington Post put their fingers on anything?

Haven't watch but interesting that Bernie did very well according to many other news outlets.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I'm sorry to be the grim reaper, but the DNC base is not exactly overflowing with heightened enthusiasm. It's barely holding on to life support.

I'm looking forward to reading more of this razor-sharp analysis in the Washington Post.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

I think this article got it all wrong, If you read more local American media and look at the posting on social internet sites it is definitely Sanders that got more out of it than Clinton.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Come election day, I just hope all the Bernie people will actually vote. This piece, mirroring that of CNN douchebaggery, is going to be just one example of media manipulation in this election.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

You cannot attack the GOP on anything else, eh? This party must be very highly respected in the US. Who's that leading GOP candidate....Ronald Pump or something.

Yup and Carson and Fiorina. I know the Dems are getting nervous because they know, this election will NOT be a simple coronation. I'm sorry to be the grim reaper, but the DNC base is not exactly overflowing with heightened enthusiasm. It's barely holding on to life support.

That's a neat way to ignore the Veterans who lost their lives, limbs, families and futures over Bush's lies.

So how many times has Obama made a solid commitment to them? When has he made the veterans front and center issue of his policies to give them the absolute best care or to fix the crumbling bureaucracy and facilities? When does he talk about them and the entire problems they are facing?

Also, do you complain about Obama putting 45 million people on food stamps over the last 48 months? How about the 50 million people that live in poverty, US citizens, so does Obsma get a pass on that as well? Or do you want to try and implicate Bush managed to sneak back into the White House screw the economy and create a giant dependent society?

Not an unexpected insult to their sacrifice.

What sacrifice?

Also a simplistic dismissal of the remaining 38 years of debt AWOL made to the tune of Seven Trillion to accomplish nothing.

What about the 20 Trillion Obama racked up, you keep forgetting to add that to the bill, which doesn't include the tip.

Not to mention the 100,000 innocent lives of Iraqis Bush managed to churn into dust, along with their children. So much for personal responsibility.

But we'll just gloss over the sectarian violence that caused the majority of the deaths, destruction in the region, but what about Obama turning his back on the Kurds, Jordan, Israel and the Yazidis? Why no mention of our glorious anointed president that so willingly and directly tossed our closest allies under the bus?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

What a sad circus American politics is. I couldn't trust Hilary Clinton as far as I could throw her but I thoroughly despise the whole Republican line up. And somehow a big proportion of the people don't seem to understand what liberal means, thinking it socialist, and seem to believe that people who from other parts of the world look practically fascist are in fact socialists. They say you get the politicians you deserve and American ignorance seems to prove that.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Still, as clearly stated: "One can only guess some are so indebted to falsehoods and embarrassment of failure they imagine, in their paranoia, the previous administration's moral failures that cost so many lives to achieve no demonstrable goal for the American People, are of no importance."

It is always nice to read the American blowhard who can hold forth with so little care, concern or conscience. No wonder Rump is their choice for President of the United States. They all seem cut from the same cloth. Why would these fans find mocking Senator McCain's five years as a POW objectionable when they now dismiss the Veterans who sacrificed for Bush's lies?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@ toshiko - Perhaps First Ladies Man ? !

3 ( +3 / -0 )

If she becomes president, every criticism of her will be met with "you just can't handle having a woman as president." Sadly, that's how debate goes in the US these days - either agree or be an evil racist/sexist bigot.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Let the fair minded not imagine he would guide, or be a part of any administration that might "further devastate the country".

Whoa!!! Wait a minute! I think Biden is a man of honor, but that doesn't mean, he's qualified to be president. As much as I hate Hillary, she's more presidential material than Biden and Obama is just a joke compared to her, but Hillary disqualified herself with her hibitual and constant lies and waffling.

One can only guess some are so indebted to falsehoods and embarrassment of failure they imagine, in their paranoia, that someone of Vice President Biden's character would be, in any way, associated with the disasters of the previous administration or perpetuate those moral failures that have cost so many lives to achieve no demonstrable goal for the American People. They should be thanked for their kind words.

No, no illusions, just the facts that Bush is long, long gone and you Dems need to get over it, but I know that's the only Arsenal you have, you cannot attack the GOP on anything else, so let's rehash everything from 9 years ago, just brilliant. 7 years of Democratic hippie love is coming to an end.

It's funny watching the Republicans complain about the quality of the debate.

First of all, it was no debate. Can someone please explain to me what Chaffey, Webb and O'Malley were doing on stage? Especially Webb, there's nothing really liberal about him. He's as liberal as Trump is conservative. Hillary definetly won that debate. Bernie couldn't wait to talk about giving free stuff away, it was just an interesting thing to watch. Funny, but most of it, nothing new, the typical usual talk about taking stuff from other people and making sure the polar bears don't get a sunburn.

It's almost like they didn't recognize it as a debate, not understanding the concept of not trying to be the most extreme in a group, and destroying your opponents.

True, it wasn't a debate, it was the 2015 Woodstock reunion get together.

The good news is that the more Republican debates their are, the more they will not be able to recover after the debates, ensuring a democratic president after the next election. Same as what happened in 2012.

ROFL...you guys! Boy and to think my parents thought I was off the reservation when I told them, I wanted to purchase Disneyland.

I love the GOP's latest attempt at spin - that the Democrats were promising lots of "free stuff" last night.

Never mind that their leading candidate has promised to build a 1600 mile long wall that will miraculously not cost us anything.

If its privately built, that's great and to keep out the illegals, I don't think people would care, especially if you live near the border states as I do. The only people that would object are the open borders crowd, people that don't live near a border state or is content with flooding the country with illegal aliens.

The Shia Tea GOP hasn't any standing to criticize any discussion after the reruns of "Birthers on Parade", "Who's Not MY President", "Where Fore Art Thou Benghazi?", "Ooops! That's Not MY Gun Law" and "Is That An Immigrant in Your Pants?"

Oh, boy do they ever!

The insistent drivel of the FOXNews Fall line-up is too dull to score any ratings.

But their ratings are through the roof. Every other network would love to come remotely close to the numbers FOX is doing. CNN did get a slight bump. I know they were drinking champagne and breathing a sigh of relief.

The last effort for Shia-GOP broadcasting will be "HEY! Where's My Email?!" and "Those Kenyans, Their Always Up to Something".

Hey, when Hillary decides to tell the truth, stays honest and transparent with the FBI, this will be behind her, she doesn't, it'll drag on. That makes news, so Hillary is a God Send in that regard for the news outlet.

Goodness, having to hear Senator Sanders suggest there's some mischief afoot in the revolving door of regulation? Snoozers! Those Liberals cannot get a decent program like Murdock's, "I Know You're Not Black, But What AM I?"

Well.....

Only five more of these "debates" left and the Shia Tea will finally have the three branches wrapped into the fascism Americans have been begging for forever. Saluté!

Omg! Rofl. And the dreams keep mounting.....

Exactly how did Biden serve his country? - comments

There's this weird new thing, it's like the computer but it provides answers to really dumb questions. It sounds like goggle or grabble. Some high schools have it.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Exactly how did Biden serve his country? He received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War, which was incidentally, the same number of deferments received by former VP Dick Cheney, and later was disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Hillary was not even debated. Moderators were also very easy on her. Just let the gloves come off, she will choke!

Then again, it seemed like a Clinton/Sanders dem ticket possibility with his pandering. The problem is where is the dream world USA money going to come from? The big money holders will simply find shelters and at $19 TRILLION debt today the USA is unsustainable.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

A third run would come only if the vice president, whose early adult life was marred by tragedy with the death of his wife and daughter, could overcome the anguish of losing his son Beau earlier this year to brain cancer.

As some have observed, Vice President Biden is a man of honor.

While Madame Clinton is capable and experienced, Mr. Biden will better serve the American People as a continuing part of mending the suffering and profound damage created by the disasters of AWOL Bush and the now perverse Shia Tea GOP. Gods Bless Vice President Biden and America.

I'm not going to denigrate Biden, although I don't agree with the man politically, he did serve his country and he's not a dumb politician, at least he has more brains than that cackle woman and the current creator of the universe, having said that, I don't think Biden is in the right frame of mind to run for the presidency after recently losing his son that would be a heavy burden and he would have to go through a lot and I don't think he's in that mental state right now. But having him as president would allow a 3rd term of the Obama presidency which would further devastate the country and that is something we just cannot afford anymore.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Vice President Biden has served his country with distinction and honor. He is far more important as a support to the People of America and their next President.

While Madame Clinton is capable and experienced, Mr. Biden will better serve the American People as a continuing part of mending the suffering and profound damage created by the disasters of AWOL Bush and the now perverse Shia Tea GOP. Gods Bless Vice President Biden and America.
