And she better aware the 'territorial disputes in space' between US and China when their satellites flew over China airspace! That was more appropiate to her concerns!

...in return she will get rare metal from a "reliable" supplier ! what about Japan? nothing at the moment !

Uh oh, more questioning the Chinese reactions and behaviour? No doubt this will NOT make Xinhua news without editing.

Sec.of State Clinton proposed a three-way meeting with U.S. China and Japan. Why involve the U.S.? Why not make the three-way between U.N. China and Japan?

Typical. Airspace is not controlled or "owned" by a nation when it is high enough to sustain stable earth orbit for an object like a satellite.

Yang told Clinton that the United States should act with discretion and >make no “wrong remarks” on the sensitive issue of the islands. He also >repeated Beijing’s claim to the islands and insisted the U.S. should >respect China’s stance.

Thinking that China can tell us what to or not to say is a joke. And China's "claim" which suddenly appeared after 1970 despite evidence of China's acceptance of the Senkakus as late as 1969 is also a total joke. This arrogant attitude is invariably going to bring China to heads with the entire world.

These language in these news reports always depicts the USA as an arrogant meddling nation. For example, the comment "We made very clear that we want the temperature to go down on this issue". What an utterly arrogant comment. The USA is clearly NOT an unbiased party and yet they have the arrogance to facilitate mediation of trilateral talks? If I were China - I'd respond coolly also - in fact I'd just ignore the comment as the rantings of an imbecile utterly lacking in common sense.

Is this the best our nation can produce in terms of leaders and leadership?

Yang told her that “China has no intention of withholding these materials from the market.”

The only thing more incredible than how Chinese government officials tell blatant bold-faced lies is that they think people believe them!

Last week, as reported in the Harold-Tribune, a Chinese government said that 'The Chinese government has not reduced, in any way, the shipment of rare earth materials, but that perhaps companies decided to do so on their own accord because they have issues with Japanese government policies.' What the official failed to explain is why each and every one of these companies happened to do this ON THE SAME DAY or why (a dozen or so) foreign companies producing rare earth materials in China would have issues with Japan's government policies!

The lies we so ridiculous that I laughed out loud!

I believe the PRC should adhere to the recommendation of former leader of the People's Republic of China, Deng Xiaoping. "(paraphrased) these kinds of issues should be addressed by future generations, but not now." This is not the time to determine borders w/ neighboring states, but a time of caution. From 2011 to the end of 2012, great turmoil is in the cards, and a time to be ready for an unsettling storm.

I think they are giving too much credit to Clinton. Headline should read, "Chinese laugh at Clinton's tough talk"..

China is just trying to test the waters, so to speak, they are like a little bird, in a nest trying to see how much they can flap their young wings, but in this case, the same nest also has Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, P.I. etc..and they are also wanting to be respected, by say the big mean black crow in the nest with the little cuter Asian swallows. We need the bold American eagle to kind of you know, let that big mean crow know that it can be picked out by the American eagle, if say, push comes to shove.

As usual you have it wrong. United States good. US Allies all good. US adversaries bad. Get it?

China simply needs to get over this idea they have that they can bully all of Asia because they are bigger and more powerful. Frankly that may not be possible under the one party dictatorship tht has been in power since 1949.

A statement on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website said Yang told Clinton that the United States should act with discretion and make no “wrong remarks” on the sensitive issue of the islands. He also repeated Beijing’s claim to the islands and insisted the U.S. should respect China’s stance.

No nation is permitted to make 'wrong remarks', except China - of course. I am surprised China has not used their favorite adage 'interfering in internal affairs' yet. It will happen soon enough and the Senkaku will become another Tibet. Fortunately the heavy Chinese boots won't trample on humans; on the islands, I mean.

The sensitive issue of the islands.

I doubt China comprehends the meaning of 'sensitive'. But that aside, the islands China mentions are not just the Senkaku, they will insist, are going to insist, all islands in the east china sea, e.g. Formosa/Taiwan, the Japan archipelago, etc, belong to China since ancient times. Prepare for the apocalypse.

Let me get in the game. China bad, US "world police" funded by China also bad. There are no good guys or bad guys here. Both pose threats to Japan's sovereignty and are putting a strain on each others relationship. The GOJ shouldn't be playing "choose or die", and just maintain good relationships with everyone so they can focus on internal issues.
