Ok. maybe 49%.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

What an insane comment. Clearly, it's well over half. The others are simply stupid.

5 ( +14 / -9 )

Apparently the GOP doesn't think that being racist, homophobic and/or Islamaphobic is deplorable.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

I think it is a great comment. Every Trump voter, upon hearing that comment has to think, "Hmm. I hate Hillary, but I wonder... is she talking about me?" Then, if they have any sense at all, they will decide that "She is wrong about me!" And now they are set up to look at their fellow Trump supporters and are set up to look at the candidate more objectively.

Next time Trump slips up, And there will be a next time, they will be primed to jump ship and abandon all those losers. Will they grudgingly admit that Hillary was right? Probably not, but at least Hillary's comment presents them with a decision they all have to make.

And you know the ones who can't manage that introspection? Those are the ones Hillary is talking about. So the right people are going to hear Hillary, and the wrong people are too far gone anyway. The more it gets reported, the better.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

“Hillary Clinton’s low opinion of the people that support this campaign should be denounced in the strongest possible terms,” Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana and Trump’s running mate, said at the Values Voter Summit in Washington. “So let me just say from the bottom of my heart: Hillary, they are not a basket of anything. They are Americans, and they deserve your respect.”

Actually, they don't.

Your presidential candidate is retweeting white supremacists. I don't have to respect that just because the racists are from the US.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I think it is a great comment. Every Trump voter, upon hearing that comment has to think, "Hmm. I hate Hillary, but I wonder... is she talking about me?"

What an insane comment. Clearly, it's well over half. The others are simply stupid.

Oh you guys are so cute. It's always been about anti establishment, something Hillary will never say. Apparently JT has banned the term War P$g. Why is that? Maybe JT has stock in Lockheed. As for the rest of you war p$gs, come November, tissue sales will go up.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

She was right, both with the statement, and her realization that she shouldn't have said it. It's just not a presidential thing to say. Can you imagine Obama saying that? Not a chance. He's got way more class than that. And he's been smeared at least as much as her.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Cleary there is bias going in the media when it comes to Hillary and Trump. Sure, I don't like either side doing the name calling, but when Trump does it, you libs are ready to pop a vein. I too, don't understand why calling Hillary a war p.. will get your post zapped. After all, she is part of that Washington elite that was a huge supporter of the Iraq war, a war that liberals are still screaming about and on that issue alone, she should be disqualified. Seems like there is a double standard when it comes to men and conservative men. But it seems like you libs and are perfectly content with the Washington establishment carrying on business as usual, the corruption, the sales of money and arms to countries we say, we loathe as well as countries we respect, Hillary has greatly and financially benefited from this. It's amazing how much money the Clinton's have and how they accumulated it, but how? Even if you add up all the speeches, the money doesn't add up and you guys are ok with this. Hillary is sorry ONLY because if there are people out there that still have an emotional time voting for Trump, calling them stupid is not the best idea and that's why she apologized, someone in her camp said, potential voter, take it back. This is why I hate the Washington establishment, they could care less about the people, but votes and keeping the status quo is vital and everyone within that system and I mean, everyone will do and say whatever they have to in order maintain the system. Disgusting! Trump is a lot things granted, he may be flawed and he may be a loudmouth, but at least he's direct, honest and wants to put America first and stop all wars and at least try to see if he and Putin can come to a mutual understanding, but Nope, the Washington upper echelon gang on both sides are just outraged that an outsider dare have the mustard to use his brain of negotiation and not a gun. So now Trump is the bad guy? Liberals are an amazing bunch.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

Sounded like a pretty tame description. Trump called for her death to cheers so choosing euphemisms of squirrely nutbars are completely apt

1 ( +5 / -4 )

calling 'half' of Trump supporters 'deplorable'

Of course they are. These people include KKK, Bundies, White supremacists, David Dukes, Aryans, people who think Obama was born in Kenya, people who think Obama faked his college degree, people who think Obama is a Muslim, people who think that Obama was sent to earth from Allah to instill sharia Law, people who literally believe in the Bible and the Jesus zombie, and lots and lots of middle aged white people feeling sorry for themselves and thinking somehow a used car salesman who inherited daddy's money and burned countless investors is going to save save them from their miserable existance. Also, some of these deplorable people are Hillary haters, simply. They just hate Hillary because it's in their DNA like the way a dog hates a cat. They cannot be reasoned with and they simply just want to hate Hillary because of Hillery. It's a biological phenomenon of some DNA Hillary hating genetic sequence they were born with.

I don't like either side doing the name calling

Except for the Trump says Obama was born in Kenya. That's not name calling. He thinks Obama was really born in Kenya.

Oh you guys are so cute.

But Trump wants to nuke ISIS and kill many innocent school children in the process. He said that nukes are "not off the table" when dealing with ISIS. Trump is more dangerous than Hillary.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

@Nishi

You just explained in a nutshell exactly what is wrong with the liberal voter. They all live in a world of Unicorns, and incense.

Except for the Trump says Obama was born in Kenya. That's not name calling. He thinks Obama was really born in Kenya.

Trump can think whatever he wants as well as Hillary, it has noting to do with me or millions of people that don't believe it.

But Trump wants to nuke ISIS and kill many innocent school children in the process. He said that nukes are "not off the table" when dealing with ISIS. Trump is more dangerous than Hillary.

Hillary voted for the war, the woman is a hawk, She's the one we ALL need to worry and judging by her screw up in Benghazi and the handling of the Arab Spring, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind given her history.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

judging by her screw up in Benghazi

Which, as all the sane world now knows from the Republican investigation into the matter, didn't actually happen.

Yet you have probably at least 50% of Trump voters who will still claim that it did. And how many of his voters did Hillary say are deplorable...?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

“Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that’s never a good idea. I regret saying ‘half’ - that was wrong,”

Clearly Hillary believes that unless you think white Americans are born racists then you are deplorable. The party will continue to drive out whites and become a completely non-white party. The Democrats are going all in to divide up Americans along racial lines. They will win elections with this cynical strategy but in the end it will leave the country worse off. Of course Republicans have never played the identity politics game but Americans know no different.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Clearly Hillary believes that unless you think white Americans are born racists then you are deplorable.

No, clearly she thinks Trump supporters who are racist and/or keep smearing her after she has been cleared, are deplorable.

The party will continue to drive out whites and become a completely non-white party.

Correction, the party may continue to drive out uneducated whites, and become an educated party. She is beating Trump significantly in the polls among educated white males.

Unfortunately you can't just ignore the votes of the ignorant. They have votes too.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Of course it happened, it just got swept under the rug. But what do you expect from the most corrupt admin. in US history.

Yet you have probably at least 50% of Trump voters who will still claim that it did. And how many of his voters did Hillary say are deplorable...?

And those people are most likely right and as far as deplorable is concerned, her actions, her lies confirmed as she admitted to her own daughter the embassy was under attack by Jihadists as well as telling it to the Egyptian President, that's more than enough proof she lied.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

I really am disappointed with this statement by HRC. Clearly the number is 80%, not 50%. Hence the KKK endorsement of Trump due to his stream of racist comments and behaviours. Honestly, what Trump has proven is what we liberals have been saying for decades now, the republican party is racist to the core. He has simply brought all of that to the surface and is campaigning directly on it. Yet he is tied in many polls in the USA. Lets not forget Trump was the Birther champion and still will not admit that Obama is a USA citizen. Pure racism that is. No way to deny it. Again, this is why the KKK has endorsed Trump and he has accepted that endorsement.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

And those people are most likely right

And people wonder why she calls them deplorable.

Anyways, it's not like you ever had any credibility, but harping on about something that your own party found no wrongdoing on after spending $7 million just shows why you don't have any.

But keep on saying it. It gives the sane a point of reference in your posts, so they know how to evaluate the rest of the foolish stuff you say.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

You just explained in a nutshell

I explained in a nutshell typical Trump voters to make America great again. How can anyone trust a total business failure who burned so many investors and his scams like Trump University. I would have wanted someone like Christie, but you guys had to nominate the clown of Manhattan. He's your nominee, not mine.

it has noting to do with me or millions of people that don't believe it.

Trump voters think that Obama was born in Kenya. They trust 100% Trump when he said that Obama was born in Kenya. They believe what Trump says is 100% true and Trump never exaggerates or makes false statements. All Hillary haters think that Obama was born in Kenya.

Hillary voted for the war

Even if so she does not want to use nukes on ISIS like Trump does. It's one thing to vote for a conventional war. But Trump wants to go nuclear. He's crazy and he's your candidate.

Also, she is clean as a whistle with Benghazi and the email. FBI checked her out and nothing illegal. Unlike the Libby rat who betrayed the USA by outing a CIA agent and was prosecuted. Hillary is 100% innocent.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

“half” of Republican rival Donald Trump’s supporters belonged in a “basket of deplorables,”

That's gonna reflect.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Can US politics sink any lower? Both these candidates have been scrapping the bottom of the barrel with their school yard taunt approach to political debate. The whole affair is an embarrassment.... I expect the next electoral campaign will be fought via grunt and fart competitions.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Not the best choice of words, however true it may be lol.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"You just explained in a nutshell exactly what is wrong with the liberal voter. They all live in a world of Unicorns, and incense."

All liberals? Given your love of mind-blowing generalisations, you shouldn't have a problem with the Clinton comment. Whether racists and bigots make up half of Trump's support is open to question but accuracy clearly isn't an issue for you.

Anyway, this comment was ill-advised. It's a dangerous tactic to characterise the supporters of your opponent in this way.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Anyway, this comment was ill-advised. It's a dangerous tactic to characterise the supporters of your opponent in this way.

I agree.

And the fact that you have supporters of Hillary stating that she was wrong in saying this shows the vast divide between the left and the right. When has the right ever stated something similar about Trump?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

And those people are most likely right and as far as deplorable is concerned, her actions, her lies confirmed as she admitted to her own daughter the embassy was under attack by Jihadists as well as telling it to the Egyptian President, that's more than enough proof she lied.

But bass, we have silenced such matters. Our operatives masterfully manipulated the system to get her off on technicalities in every situation. We own 98% of the media and we have it all focused on destroying the GOP. We have assurances that Trump will receive no fair coverage in this election, and we will convince the public that he is unfit for office.

And we won't stop at another election. We will continue our persecution of Christians. We will continue to force our gay agenda into your homes. We will continue to force your children to be alone with transgenders. And we will rise up and make American great again as a godless society with gun rights burned into the ground, all financed by Hollywood and paid for with money stripped of all God's name.

We will twist your patriotism into racism. We will increase the dependency blacks have on the government, and we will soon have millions of illegals registering to vote Democrat to keep our agenda alive. We will enforce open borders and flood Muslim immigrants into our neighborhoods and school systems. Our tolerance requirements will force you to bend at the knee for the righteousness of the non-white.

Your rich members will continue to be targeted for income redistribution as we build the philosophy to reward everyone equally, no matter of effort or ability. Your Christmas will be retired. Minimum grammar requirements will be forced on journalists while Sharia law will quietly be brought in under a cloak of safe zones. Political correctness will be our new God as we continue the fight against hard working Americans.

We are American liberals, and we're coming for you.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Hah, if that were on Twitter or Facebook, it would go viral!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I really am disappointed with this statement by HRC. Clearly the number is 80%, not 50%. Hence the KKK endorsement of Trump due to his stream of racist comments and behaviours.

You should be happy, I mean, supposedly you guys want an honest candidate and now that she came to full terms that her remarks were racist as well as ignorant, she finally realized the error of her ways. You should applaud her.

Honestly, what Trump has proven is what we liberals have been saying for decades now, the republican party is racist to the core.

Please, go ahead and prove it and I will crush that argument. This entire myth that conservatives are roaring racists ready to hang some black person is borderline delirious!

He has simply brought all of that to the surface and is campaigning directly on it. Yet he is tied in many polls in the USA.

Because many see what Hillary stands for. Washington establishment, big bankers, lining her pockets, keeping the status quo and keeping Blacks down, subservient to government dependency and entitlements, there goes your real and true racism, it's subtle, quiet and morphed into suits and ties with smiles.

Lets not forget Trump was the Birther champion and still will not admit that Obama is a USA citizen.

Which was started by the Hillary campaign, but liberals have selected memory, we keep forgetting that.

Pure racism that is. No way to deny it. Again, this is why the KKK has endorsed Trump and he has accepted that endorsement.

He did? Where is the proof Trump officially said, he accepts the endorsement from the KKK. Please take your time in finding that Statement, I have all day to wait. I'll be jamming in the studio and checking back in from time to time.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Please, go ahead and prove it

Trump and his supporters including KKK, Bundies, White supremacists, David Dukes, Aryans all think he was born in Kenya. They can't stand the fact that a great person who is non-white is in the WH so they say terrible things about him like Obama was born in Kenya, Obama faked his college degree, and Obama is a Muslim who was sent to earth from Allah to instill sharia Law, and all that. That proves it.

Of course Clinton says stuff about Trump saying he is an incompetent scammer and all that (proof is his Trump University scam and how he burned his investors over and over). But she never said Trump is the offspring of an orange orangutan like the way Obama was the offspring of Muhammad and was born in Kenya.

Trump's supporters are very racist. Hillary says bad stuff about Trump, but they are really true.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

she never said Trump is the offspring of an orange orangutan

She didn't, Bill Maher did. And Trump sued him for it.

Turns out that while Trump likes to spin BS about people, he is very thin-skinned when someone does it to him.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

They can't stand the fact that a great person who is non-white is in the WH so they say terrible things about him like Obama was born in Kenya, Obama faked his college degree, and Obama is a Muslim who was sent to earth from Allah to instill sharia Law, and all that. That proves it.

Great person? Are we talking about "Mother Teresa?"

Trump's supporters are very racist. Hillary says bad stuff about Trump, but they are really true.

LMAO! then she wouldn't have any need to apologize, but she realized the hateful ways could turn people off. 270 days No interviews, yes, this woman is out of touch with the people and with reality, but in all seriousness, I do worry about her coughing, hope she's well, she doesn't look to good.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

then she wouldn't have any need to apologize

Well, she didn't actually apologize. Her exact words were:

“Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that's never a good idea, I regret saying ‘half’ — that was wrong."

No 'sorry' or 'I apologize' in there. She was just pointing out how she regretted making an overly general statement.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It's a dangerous tactic to characterise the supporters of your opponent in this way.

Perhaps; it does fit in with one of her tactics, which is to convince Republicans that not voting for Trump (or, even, voting for her - either would be okay, but the latter better) is okay precisely because Trump lies so far afield of traditional Republican values.

To be fair, the so-called MSM has done a poor job of pointing out why Trump says what he does: it is precisely to throw meat to these "deplorables." Now that she's brought it up, though, they'll have to cover it. Could go two ways - Clinton's gaffe, or an honest look at what the majority of Trump supporters think. I'm guessing it'll go the latter, and that middle-American, God-fearing, decent Americans will find it increasingly difficult to vote Trump. Call it the night club closing call: You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"Great person? Are we talking about "Mother Teresa"?"

According to some babbling lunatics in the GOP, we are talking about the anti-Christ.

Don't you ever look at this party and think "How can I be on the same side as roaring crackpots like this"?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

We are American liberals, and we're coming for you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Even though she is exactly right, she doesn't need to stoop to Trump's ridiculous levels of insults.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I guess Trump supporters didn't like all that straight talk.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Honestly, "Basket of deplorables" is the moment I stopped thinking of Hillary as the best of a set of unappealing choices and started thinking of her as someone I actually liked, at least a little.

She's struggled her whole career to humanize herself. She and her family have been hounded for over 30 years by shameless conspiracy theorists and delusional nutjobs who have no reservations about making up any old crime they want and attaching it to the Clintons. And so finally in a moment of anger she lashes out at the people who have groundlessly hounded her for longer than some posters here have been alive, and she even has the integrity to realize she did wrong and apologize for it. After years of being criticized for not taking stances without focus-testing them and running them through a calculating political analysis, she speaks from the gut in still a more reserved way than her opponents speak about her - at the Republican National Convention one speaker called for her to be shot after all - and she's pilloried in the media for it.

Meanwhile her opponent, the guy who has been talking himself up as a strong negotiator who can take on the likes of international terrorists and North Korean dictators, is so scandalized at being handed a mild insult that he has to resort to all caps tweets to express his outrage. Screw it, this incident has convinced me: I'm no longer voting anti-Trump, I'm voting pro-Clinton.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Great person?

He could be elected for a third term if it were allowed. His popularity is up.

then she wouldn't have any need to apologize

Not to KKK, Bundies, White supremacists, David Dukes, Aryans who are typical Trump voters and would never vote for Hillary anyway. They all believe Obama was born in Kenya. Why apologize to those people. If she did, then it was a waste of time.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

They are Americans, and they deserve your respect.

Where did that come from? The trump club talking about respect?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Where did that come from? The trump club talking about respect?

Do you really want to set the bar at Trump's level? That would really destroy the country. We need someone to be an adult.

They are Americans, and they deserve your respect.

Racist homophobic gun lovers that identify as Deplorables deserve nothing

"I'm voting pro-Clinton."

I'll take Trump over "Laws are for peasants" Hillary Wall Street Clinton.

This is interesting: "Ed Rollins: Clinton can't walk back 'deplorable' remarks" ( Fox News )

"This is interesting: "Ed Rollins: Clinton can't walk back 'deplorable' remarks" ( Fox News )"

I think Fox made light of Trump mocking a person with disabilities.

A deplorable news outlet.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is good in a way as it allows the Deplorables to raise their hands high for all to see

1 ( +3 / -2 )

No 'sorry' or 'I apologize' in there. She was just pointing out how she regretted making an overly general statement.

So, now you're admitting even in this case the MSM is doing the usual lies and distortions on a politician, that's good news. Now we know the MSM gets it always wrong when quoting both candidates.

He could be elected for a third term if it were allowed. His popularity is up

Thank the heavens, that will NEVER happen! Kudos!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

This is interesting: "Ed Rollins: Clinton can't walk back 'deplorable' remarks" ( Fox News )

Fox News has no standing whatsoever in criticizing her for her remarks. She could call the Strumpets the sickest dirties most inbred group of delinquent redneck racist scum ever, and that Trump is the king of that, and she still wouldn't have come anywhere near the accumulation of things he has said and done.

She shouldn't have said it, as she lowered herself to Trump's level with the comments. But as far as criticism is concerned, no one from the right has any standing whatsoever to criticize her on her remarks after choosing Trump as their representative, after the things he said during the primaries.

So, now you're admitting even in this case the MSM is doing the usual lies and distortions on a politician

No more than when they reported Trump apologized the time he expressed regret over some of the things he had said.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Thank the heavens, that will NEVER happen! Kudos!

That's just how you, KKK, Bundies, White supremacists, David Dukes, Aryans, and other Hillary haters feel. Don't forget these are not the majority. Racists who think that Obama was born in Kenya.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Fox News has no standing whatsoever in criticizing her for her remarks.

So, you're going to make them stop? Good luck.

She could call the Strumpets the sickest dirties most inbred group of delinquent redneck racist scum ever, and that Trump is the king of that, and she still wouldn't have come anywhere near the accumulation of things he has said and done.

Ok, got it. We both agree the media is dispicable to both candidates lying and distorting facts. I agree.

She shouldn't have said it, as she lowered herself to Trump's level with the comments.

She was already lower before Trump got into the race

But as far as criticism is concerned, no one from the right has any standing whatsoever to criticize her on her remarks after choosing Trump as their representative, after the things he said during the primaries.

Ohhhh, yes, they can and they should and will.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

So, you're going to make them stop?

How would I do that?

We both agree the media is dispicable to both candidates lying and distorting facts.

No we don't.

This is interesting: "How Donald Trump retooled his charity to spend other people’s money" (Washington Post)

Some quotes from the article:

Trump had effectively turned the Evans Foundation’s gifts into his own gifts, without adding any money of his own.

And:

In two cases, he has used money from his charity to buy himself a gift. In one of those cases — not previously reported — Trump spent $20,000 of money earmarked for charitable purposes to buy a six-foot-tall painting of himself.

And:

Money from the Trump Foundation has also been used for political purposes, which is against the law. The Washington Post reported this month that Trump paid a penalty this year to the Internal Revenue Service for a 2013 donation in which the foundation gave $25,000 to a campaign group affiliated with Florida Attorney General Pamela Bondi (R).

Considering Trump is calling Hillary crooked, and goes on about how he hates lies and liars, more and more evidence is showing him to be a crook and a liar. And yet, when you ask the Strumpets how they feel about this, they give him a pass every single time.

It just makes it clear, calling Hillary crooked and a liar is just their way of distracting people's attention from the fact that their leader, the man they choose and revere, is crooked and a liar.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Many of Clinton’s fundraisers have been closed to the media

Hmmm...

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Considering Trump is calling Hillary crooked, and goes on about how he hates lies and liars, more and more evidence is showing him to be a crook and a liar.

When all this happened, was Trump a politician getting paid by the tax payer? No, he wasn't .

And yet, when you ask the Strumpets how they feel about this, they give him a pass every single time.

Now as a politician, if he did this, personally speaking I wouldn't.

It just makes it clear, calling Hillary crooked and a liar is just their way of distracting people's attention from the fact that their leader, the man they choose and revere, is crooked and a liar.

Hey, after 35 years of being famous for lying, what else do you expect? That's like asking Bill to keep his hands to himself.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

the town is proud of 'culture' and the hunt, but are also so embarrassed by it they don't want people seeing it?

Thanks for proving my point that you'll give him a pass on everything.

Hey, after 35 years of being famous for lying, what else do you expect?

I'd expect you guys wouldn't vote him as your representative after professing to hate such behavior so much.

I'd expect you guys wouldn't vote her as your representative after professing to hate such behavior so much.

She's the lefts darling as well as being the most flawed candidate to ever run for political office.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

the most flawed candidate to ever run for political office.

Worse than Warren G Harding? Worse than Garfield???

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Would the 'deplorables' supporting Trump include people like Jean-Marie Le Pen, Nigel Farage, Vladimir Putin, or North Korea's Kim Jong-un (whose newspaper gave Trump an early endorsement)?

Could they include the Chinese bankers he owes money to, dictators like Sultan Erdogan in Turkey and Duterte in the Philippines where he has properties and businesses, along with other shady sorts worldwide?

Or are we talking just about a subset of US Americans, your basic Ford F-150 pickup drivers, the kinds who wave the confederate flag at 'open-carry' and 'come and take it' rallies, your basic everyday white nationalist? (e.g. Frank Zappa’s Lonesome Cowboy Burt.)

Or could they be the angry white men who for whatever reason haven’t been able to take advantage of the white male privileges they were born to. They are the sort who blame others, maybe the government, maybe some imaginary ‘them’, which usually means non-whites for the problems they’ve created for themselves and others. Included in this group are the terminally angry who out of spite just want to see the system brought down and others dragged down to their level of sink.

They know Trump’s just the man best suited for busting the system; it's worrying they don’t seem to care he has no idea what to replace it with.

And he wants to expand the world's most frightening military while busting the system? Maybe I'll add the warhawks who support him to the list of deplorables.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

US Americans, your basic Ford F-150 pickup drivers, the kinds who wave the confederate flag at 'open-carry' and 'come and take it' rallies, your basic everyday white nationalist? (e.g. Frank Zappa’s Lonesome Cowboy Burt.)

Let me get this straight, in order to be a classic racist, you have to drive a Ford F-150 as well as listening to Zappa?

Or could they be the angry white men who for whatever reason haven’t been able to take advantage of the white male privileges they were born to. They are the sort who blame others, maybe the government, maybe some imaginary ‘them’,

So when Blacks and Mexicans complain about being at a disadvantage because of their color and not having privileges in life, we could call it imaginary as well. 50 years ago, you could say, the US is a racist country, but not now or do you agree with minorities play the race card? You are ok with that?

which usually means non-whites for the problems they’ve created for themselves and others. Included in this group are the terminally angry who out of spite just want to see the system brought down and others dragged down to their level of sink.

I don't think Whites are the problem, I think we have a racist admin. that feels like in order to get ahead, they need RACE as a tool to have a political dialogue for anything and everything, that's the ON!Y thing that liberals have, other than that, they can't go by their record.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

So Bass, I just want to get this clear. You see no problem at all with Trump using $20,000 donated to his charity to buy a painting of himself, because he wasn't a politician?

And you see no problem with him using charity money for donations to political purposes even though it's against the law, again, because he wasn't a politician?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

No more than when they reported Trump apologized the time he expressed regret over some of the things he had said.

Hillary Clinton calls Trump supporters deplorable haters and racists on Israeli TV

And she expressed regret about it.

As she should, it's not a presidential thing to say.

But that doesn't change the fact that she was right.

"Can't wait for the Trump ad: As scenes from one of his massive rallies is shown, the camera starts to focus in on the diverse crowd. The faces of veterans, police officers, firefighters, college students, young families, the young, the old, the infirm fill the screen and as they do, this quote by Hillary will be playing."

How inspiring. Will Trump's African-American be there and will he point him out again? Will Trump do his hilarious impression of a disabled person again to ram home the diversity message? Will he tell those veterans there who were captured that they are not heroes?

Most importantly, will the whooping boneheads be allowed on screen when Trump says Elizabeth Warren?

Actually, Stranger, using charitable donations to benefit those running the charity are also illegal. I'd heard that the painting went to one of his golf courses - if so, illegal. Then there's the football helmet and jersey he bought at a charity auction with his funds that sort of disappeared - if he'd donated them elsewhere, fine; if he's kept them, illegal. The WaPro has a very interesting article regarding this today. My favorite shenanigan is how he took $150,000 in donations oversome years from a foundations set up by a deceased industrialist and then passed them through his foundation to the Palm Beach Police Foundation as his own donations and ended up receiving and award for his "benevolence." As soon as that foundation decided it would be better to handle donations themselves, Trump's donations to the police foundation stopped.

Sleaze, lying, and a single purpose: self-aggrandizement: that is the Trump Foundation. Read this. It would be depressing if it were not so hilariously predictable.

So Bass, I just want to get this clear. You see no problem at all with Trump using $20,000 donated to his charity to buy a painting of himself, because he wasn't a politician?

That's not good of course not, but compare that to the millions Clinton raked in, that's almost chump change.

And you see no problem with him using charity money for donations to political purposes even though it's against the law, again, because he wasn't a politician?

At the time, No. Now, as a public and official politician, I would have a problem with it.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

And yet it seems that it's ok to the right if Trump did illegal things, because he wasn't a politician when he was doing them.

So I wonder where the bar lies. Would they vote for a rapist or a serial killer? Probably not, and I would hope not, but it seems there is somewhere between that line, and using charity funds for personal paintings and for campaign contributions is ok.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

And yet it seems that it's ok to the right if Trump did illegal things, because he wasn't a politician when he was doing them.

No, it not, but you can flip that around and say the exact same thing about the left and even as a politician brush everything off that she's done, at least now, the MSM have finally came to their senses and are pressing more for her to answer these allegations.

So I wonder where the bar lies. Would they vote for a rapist or a serial killer? Probably not, and I would hope not, but it seems there is somewhere between that line, and using charity funds for personal paintings and for campaign contributions is ok.

That's politics for you.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

That's not good of course not, but compare that to the millions Clinton raked in, that's almost chump change.

Really? I hadn't heard of Clinton taking in any illegal money from her foundation, yet Trump was using charity donations to get paintings of himself made, and contributing to political campaigns.

You seem to be saying that it's ok that he did something illegal and immoral, simply because Clinton made more in a legal manner.

Is that your justification? It's ok that he used charity money illegally because she made more legally? Where is the cutoff for that? How much more than him does she have to make legally to justify his illegal usage of charity funds?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

That's not good of course not, but compare that to the millions Clinton raked in, that's almost chump change.

The difference is that the IRS will open a case on the Trump file (they have already) and only look into "Congressional Concerns" involving the Clinton Foundation.

long gas lines

1973-Nixon. This shows that Carter was a great president.

Iran? He didn't make a war out of it.

inflated home mortgages

That was GWB decades later.

Reagan shared Carter's policies and the Chrysler Loan is proof.

Reagan's foreign policy is very similar to GHWB's.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

What was wrong with Carter?

One of the most honorable presidents of any time, a man of integrity and decency who was forthright, acknowledging the US had problems that needed to be addressed. At that time his honesty gave the GOP dirt they used to distort what he said and portray him as negative so they could push the candidacy of a B (C?) level Hollywood chicken hawk, portraying Reagan as a ‘positive’ American. (Regan was good for the US ams industry.) Curious the GOP's current approach is based on pointing out negatives in all aspects of US society.

Carter was elected at a time when the USA was in terrible shape, trying to recover from its military loss to Vietnam and get its war based economy back on track.

Carter was attacked by the rightist MSM when he truthfully stated Israel had not held up its end of the agreement with the Palestinians. And then he was blamed for the malfunctioning helicopters in the botched attempt to free men held in Iran. The MSM brutally attacked him and he ended up being replaced by the co-star of Bedtime for Bonzo.

Now Jimmy Carter is one of the most admired people in the world.

No need for an apology IMO. She missed the number by a mile. It is more like 80% !

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Really? I hadn't heard of Clinton taking in any illegal money from her foundation, yet

That's because she hasn't made any of her speeches or records public yet, she won't, I wonder why........

Trump was using charity donations to get paintings of himself made, and contributing to political campaigns.

As Hillary is amassing a fortune via her foundation. If not, she wouldn't have any problems closing it or turning it over to someone else and not family related, so far, she's reluctant to do that. Hmmmm....

You seem to be saying that it's ok that he did something illegal and immoral, simply because Clinton made more in a legal manner.

No, I'm not, but, I'm more concerned with the level of corruption on a bigger scale involving Hillary, not because she's a Democrat, but because of her and her husbands history going back to before BIll became president, so I'm just going by that and that only and I could care less what the media says or what rosey color facade they want to paint her in. The Clinton's and the Bush's are a household name and America deserves better than to have another dynasty those two.

Is that your justification? It's ok that he used charity money illegally because she made more legally? Where is the cutoff for that? How much more than him does she have to make legally to justify his illegal usage of charity funds?

I'm not saying that, but if Trump would have been for years in the public eye as a politician and do what Clinton did, I'd be just as outraged' but sorry, I can't as much because, I wasn't paying for his salary, but I am for Hillary! I have every right to. You guys I'm Europe don't have to worry about it, therefore, it doesn't affect your pocket book.

SerranoSEP. 11, 2016 - 03:19PM JST I'll take Trump over "Laws are for peasants" Hillary Wall Street Clinton.

You are free to vote based on lies or fantasy if that's your wish, but if you're not going to base your vote in reality, why not at least make it really interesting? You could write in a vote for Humbaba, the god king of grilled cheese sandwiches, for example.

This is interesting: "Ed Rollins: Clinton can't walk back 'deplorable' remarks" ( Fox News )

No, it's not interesting. It's pointless empty meaningless twaddle.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

"He could be elected for a third term if it were allowed. His popularity is up"

Nah, I think one or two terms of Donald will be enough, after that the first female president, Ivanka, can take over.

Nah, I'm afraid Hillary will be the most corrupt person to ever win the Electoral College.

"This is interesting: "Ed Rollins: Clinton can't walk back 'deplorable' remarks" ( Fox News )"

"No, it's not interesting."

Yes, it is. For millions of people.

"It's pointless empty meaningless twaddle."

No, but that's what comes out of Hillary Clinton's mouth.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Hillary needs to walk nothing back, except for the 50% part. Trump is a deplorable human being, and I haven't seen one person here on JT who thinks he's fit to be president of the United States who isn't also deplorable in many ways.

You go, girl!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You are free to vote based on lies or fantasy if that's your wish,

That's exactly why I'm not voting for Hillary.

but if you're not going to base your vote in reality, why not at least make it really interesting? You could write in a vote for Humbaba, the god king of grilled cheese sandwiches, for example.

A vote against Trump is a vote for Hillary, I'm not stupid......

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I don't consider the stupid and uneducated to be deplorable. So yea, bad choice of words.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Twaddle sort of like the new Post/ABC poll which claims that Hillary is leading Trump by 5 points, 46% to 41% among likely voters. If you "deskew" the 10% Democratic oversampling to something closer to Gallup's 4% party affiliation gap, it wipes out Hillary's lead.

Their poll shows that 46% of Trump supporters are very enthusiastic compared to 33% of Hillary supporters. Also, 83% of Trump supporters say they'll definitely vote for him and won't change their minds, while 79% of Hillary supporters say they'll definitely vote for her and won't change their minds. Finally, 93% of Trump supporters say they are absolutely certain to vote, while only 80% of Hillary supporters are absolutely certain to vote.

So Hillary's support is softer and her supporters are less enthusiastic and are less certain to vote, and yet this is somehow going to translate into a much larger Democratic turnout advantage (to justify surveying 10% more Democrats than Republicans) than the 6% gap in 2012 or the 4% partisan identification gap in 2016? That is what REALLY really doesn't pass the smell test.

Clinton holds lead over Trump in new poll, but warning signs emerge

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Hillary needs to walk nothing back, except for the 50% part.

Apparently, she did. If she wants to do what Trump has been accused of doing by alienating a certain segment of voters that she could get, she'd better apologize ASAP.

Trump is a deplorable human being,

Many of us feel the same about Hillary.

and I haven't seen one person here on JT who thinks he's fit to be president of the United States who isn't also deplorable in many ways.

Many of us feel the exact opposite.

You go, girl!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yeah, Hillary people are saying they will vote for her, but due to lack of enthusiasm I doubt they will show up (20% of her supporters are "unsure" if they will actually vote?? per @Lizz above post about Washington Post article) So if she only winning by 1-3 points in most places and 1 in 5 of her supporters dont vote, she cant win.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

But Hillary a known hawk that voted for the Iraq war you'd vote for her over a man that pretty much abhors war

But, but, what about Pence? He lubbers da war, like you alt righties. Hell, just like Hillary he voted for it.

And Trump? All Trumpy cares about is his ugly, orange melon. First he is for the war then he is against it. But, he most surely believes we should be firing at Iranian boats in the gulf. He sure does believe we should be commit war crimes by torturing prisoners of war and bombing civilians at funerals.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"One might wonder why David Duke and other hate group support him and not her. Hmmmm pure coincidence."

To be fair, the KKK supported previous GOP candidates in recent years but I can't remember racists from outside the US getting so excited about a GOP candidate. This is the age of globalization and Trump has taken his message outside the third world states of the union and has given hope and inspiration to racists and bigots who don't even speak American.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

her speeches or records public

If it was illegal the authorities would know. Someone would rat her out for reward money. It proves that Clinton is 100% clean Hillary haters just hate Hillary because it's in their nature.

If she wants to do what Trump has been accused of doing by alienating a certain segment of voters

Yes, by always saying Obama was born in Kenya.

1/20/17 - "Madame President" ! Get used to it, guys.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Lizz: The debate is going to be very interesting. It is really starting to appear that Hillary has a hard time with appearances over a half hour.

Are you reading a source telling you that Clinton has difficulty functioning for time periods longer than 30 minutes?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"Madame President" !"

Too bad Madame President will be the most corrupt person to ever hold the office. If she gets past the first debate and the next batch of Wikileaks mails.

This is interesting: " Judge Jeanine: Your apology isn't going to work, Hillary" ( wildly popular Fox News )

0 ( +1 / -1 )

If it was illegal the authorities would know. Someone would rat her out for reward money. It proves that Clinton is 100% clean Hillary haters just hate Hillary because it's in their nature.

They did know, they just chose to take themselves out of this campaign cycle, pure and simple.

To be fair, the KKK supported previous GOP candidates in recent years but I can't remember racists from outside the US getting so excited about a GOP candidate.

Because Trump's main focus has always been secure the homeland and secure the wall, that would make anyone in any country that believes in safety and security vote for a person like that.

This is the age of globalization and Trump has taken his message outside the third world states of the union and has given hope and inspiration to racists and bigots who don't even speak American.

That's your personal belief, you don't have to worry, you're in Europe, but for the rest of us that believe in secure borders and the rule of law and that are tired of open borders, sanctuary cities and high crimes committed either by illegals or domestic criminals has got to stop and if liberals think confronting that is racist in their minds, then so be it.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Hillary is deplorable.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

They did know

Yes, they (the FBI) did know there was nothing illegal and that's why she was not arrested. Hillary is 100% innocent and clean. Unlike the Libby rat who was arrested and convicted in a court of law.

She looks very ill.

No, she's fine. People just say that because they hate Hillary.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Clinton had a good point when she said that Trump fans don't really believe everything he says, they just want change, and those are the people Democrats need to empathize with. The others are the racists and the bigots and need to be sidelined. It's going to be a tough line for her to walk trying to court the loser vote of Trump who just want any change, even if they don't understand it, or even if they don't understand the concept of reckless change.

This is interesting:

It definitely is an interesting case study. Despite Fox News failing to live up to their promise of a Clinton/Democrat conviction (IRS, emails, Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, Planned Parenthood), conservatives still flock to the network and pass out the talking points without research. When I see a conservative line up and bend over for the next round, it's interesting how they comply. Is there any science behind it? Maybe it's just me, but it's an interesting psychological study.

bass: but because of her and her husbands history going back to before BIll became president, so I'm just going by that

You voted for Bill Clinton twice so I'll just go by that.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Lol, between 2-4 points, that's not beating, that's a cause for concern, if she were being him, then she would be at least 15-20 points ahead and that's not the case.

Just keep telling yourself that. The only poll that counts is the one in November, and some polls that I have seen have her at a lot more than "2-4 points." Then again, even if it were only at the "concern" of "2-4 points" as you claim, then she is still winning despite her numbers "being in the toilet." A "2-4 point" margin of victory is still a victory, is it not?

Oh, stop. You would do the exact same thing and you know it, please, don't even go there. Lol

No, I would (and do) not, and yes, not only will I go there, I just did. Go have a laugh about that.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

LOL, Actually, that's not a victory, it's close, you have Trump supporters that are more enthusiastic over Hillary's and it shows by the crowds that she has compared to Trump. This has always been the case in every election. Even if Trump is trailing 5 points, in this race and for Hillary, given the fact that both are unpopular and Hillary having more experience, she should be further ahead and she isn't, that's not good, not good at all, meaning, now more than ever it's going to be really close and can go either way.

No, I would (and do) not, and yes, not only will I go there, I just did. Go have a laugh about that.

Of course you guys would, I'm not dumb, Dems and libs would without a doubt, that's always been the pattern.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

"Trump fans don't really believe everything he says, they just want change,"

This is one of the reasons why Hillary has maybe a one point lead over Trump in the polls. Hillary would just be more of Obama with more lies and less style.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"A "2-4 point" margin of victory is still a victory, is it not?"

"LOL, Actually that's not a victory"

What in the name of LOLing ROFLs are you LMAOing about? Yes, it is.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No, it's not, because there are a lot of factors involved in this and let's not forget the silent voters that are out there. It's starting to look like 1980 again. 2 weeks you could have made the strong argument that Hillary was running with it, but now, that gap is closing fast, very fast, great news for the Trump camp, bad news for the Hillary camp. It's not a guarantee, but if you are a Democrat, these are very troubling numbers.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She was miles off; it's far, far more than half. Anyway, we witness yet another Repub cyclical hissy fit, that time of the month again.. The eternal victims, always desperately searching for any perceived slight, very pathetic

Here's an interesting question for Hillary from Jason Miller, Trump's communication director:

Secretary Clinton, on Friday you said half of Donald Trump’s supporters belonged in the ‘basket of deplorables.’ Mr. Trump has a 19-point lead with former and active duty military members, with 55 percent polled saying they support him. In your opinion, what half of those voters belong in your ‘basket?’

0 ( +0 / -0 )

bass4funk Point 1: "Actually, that's not a victory, it's close, you have Trump supporters that are more enthusiastic over Hillary's"

bass4funk Point 2: "No, it's not, because there are a lot of factors involved in this and let's not forget the silent voters that are out there."

This is known as a Trump pivot. They show their enthusiasm by remaining silent.

It's starting to look like 1980 again.

To someone who is kidding himself, perhaps. Here's THE big difference from 1980: In 1980, White males between the ages of 35 and 75 made up close to 40% of the US electorate. Today, it's somewhere between 20 and 25%. Women, people of color, and young voters between 18 and 30 make up over 70% of voters.

You can forget about the "silent" voters for Trump. They are silent because they simply don't exist in any great numbers, relative to the total electorate. If Americans of all types show up to vote in November in a rate comparable to 2008 and 2012, Trump loses.

And here's what's worse: That white demographic is steadily decreasing. Today in America, whites below the age of 10 are a minority.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yabits,

So this is all really about race then.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

You can forget about the "silent" voters for Trump. They are silent because they simply don't exist in any great numbers, relative to the total electorate.

When I hear Republicans talk about the silent numbers, I always assumed they were talking about people who were privately racist. Maybe someone doesn't want to say they support Trump because it's too embarrassing, but when they are in the booth they can exercise their support of bigotry without any witness. Trump and his fans are probably hoping that that number is surprisingly large.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I be in Hillary's basket of deplorables.
