I'm not sure what you are talking about. I was just saying that it would be disingenuous to compare Libya with Iraq while ignoring the massive discrepancy in scale. And obviously it's a bit strange to support an endless investigation into Libya while blocking an investigation into Iraq.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

False equivalency is strong with this one

Or more like Dems and libs are hypocrites and live in a fantasy paisley flower world where they BELIEVE that are the omnipotent ones and it's physically and logically impossible for them to do anything wrong. Denial meets reality.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

So Bush going into Iraq was a bad decision, but Hillary's was ok?

False equivalency is strong with this one.

That is the Oxford dictionary definition of a radical. Does Hillary Clinton, a woman you admitted is in the pocket of big business and a foreign policy hawk, represent a 'radical' departure from what the US has been doing since Reagan?

First of all, Clinton could have never done what Reagan did to break up the Soviet Union, responsible for getting Germany reunited, instrumental in making Japan a economic superpower. Clinton doesn't come close, nor does she possess that skill.

She's pure establishment and more at home making speeches at Goldman Sachs than anywhere else. Don't you think the bankers who support Hillary would run a mile from a 'radical loon'?

Believe me, I'm not worried about her taking the White House.

I trust the judgement of those people more than the tongue-flapping, leg-flashing loudmouths at Fox.

I trust the voters and the people in the middle that spoke out against her. You need to relax about FOX. They have nothing to do with it, sure they're getting bigger every single day, but they're not the problem. You can always turn that channel.

I'm still wondering in what sense Hillary is a radical.

Buddy, keep working on that thought, because as in true liberal fashion, the facts are what liberals deem to be facts as long as they fit into their skewed narrative.

This is the reason why you need to start reading the Washington Post rather than watching Fox.

What the....ROFL!!

You can't just throw out words like socialist and radical without any understanding of what those words mean.

I do, I think liberals don't understand what they are, because if they did, they be screwing up the country the way they have been doing. All that liberal induced edumacation and progressive liberals still have a difficult time dealing with reality...and the facts.

Some on the far right seem to think this qualifies as debate. Absolutely nothing whatsoever you said in any way equates to Hillary Clinton being a radical.

Because you refuse to see it, just like the right refuses to see the same about Trump.

Check your dictionary and post one to Fox while you are at.

Don't need to, they're doing quite well without my input. Everyone else's would be begging for those high numbers.

Maybe you should start an investigation about this; bad anticipation for Middle East invasions.

So then why did Hillary decide to push for overthrowing Gaddafi and Mubarek? So Bush going into Iraq was a bad decision, but Hillary's was ok? She gets a pass, even though her policies brought the collapse of Libya, but in true liberal fashion, lets only blame the conservative. I keep forgetting, liberals are above life itself, therefore, they don't need to be accountable for anything.

I mean the ones after 2010, of course. Going back any further would just be silly and out-of-date and the parents are probably over it by now anyway.

Then if you make that argument, please stop the blame Bush tirade. Let's be all fair. How's that sound?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I still think Clintom vd Bush after watched Trup speedh against Bush.

'I'm still wondering in what sense Hillary Clinton is a 'radical'.'

'The way she's been lying, cheating, being smirk, condescending, drab, dry, untrustworthy add all that up to her history from Whitewater to the present. You have a very unlikable candidate, which equates to her being a radical loon. Again, 60% of independents is huge and she's NOT going to get them or turn that around and without that, she's NOT getting a crown.'

Whatever, people are going to vote this down, but come on. Is there any candidate who comes close to having her resume?

So because she's had a very long distinguished career in politics doesn't qualify her and gives her the right to be president, nor should it be a factor in disqualifying someone because they don't have the years of experience as a career politician. One main factor and the MAIN and real focus of the hearings should be her decision to go into Libya and overthrow Gaddafi, that was her decision, her bag, her baby and she pushed for it. To push for his ouster and not have a contingency plan and most of the opposition to him that Hillary was working with (Now that we know) were Al Qaida. Given what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, Hillary should have anticipated what the possible aftermath would look like if she were to remove Gaddafi, she didn't and that leaves a huge stain on her resume and her ability to judge a situation and that is critical in a leader if you are seeking the highest office in the world. Her judgement and career as Secretary of State was heavily shrouded in steep mystery and less than lack luster, not to mention from Libya to her campaign contributions to making deals with shady world leaders and because of all these scandals and everything that lead up to what happened in Benghazi has completely put her in the crosshairs of scrutiny and questioning of her overall leaders skills and her ability to make presidential decisions and 60% of independents believe she is NOT fit for the job and that is huge and you cannot win an election if you don't have independents.

If you had to hire someone to manage the country, you would be an idiot not to hire her.

No, you WOULD be a certified moron if you did elect her.

All the other guys might have great interviews, but you don't bet the company on a rookie.

We elected a rookie and look at the disaster that has happened over the last 7 years and Hillary represents a continuation of the failed policies of that rookie, the people are tired and really want change, REAL change.

Clinton Gains 100k new Donors, Huge Fundraising Day

So what's your point? Both her and Trump have money coming out of all their orifices. Money will not get you in the White House, nor will it get you elected. Independents will.

What an odd thing to say, because that's exactly what 53% of Americans' did in 2008, betting the country on the blank slate Obama.

Chill out and think about it, and 5Speed hit the nail right on the head ! Wow !

You know, just objectively, and ignoring policy entirely, anyone would have to admit that there has not been a more experienced candidate in.... like... forever. Not Nixon. Not FDR. Not Lincoln.

Do people even think about this? In this age of technocracy, we need someone with resources, a long reach, a huge rolodex, and handshake connections that extend globally. Just seriously. She has been actually IN the White House for eight years already. Secretary of State. Senator. Just think about who she could call on the phone to get a problem handled.

Just in terms of governmental efficiency, she would be like FDR in his third or fourth term. If one assumed that anyone who gets elected is going to wind up centrist, Hillary is the one to vote for.

Whatever, people are going to vote this down, but come on. Is there any candidate who comes close to having her resume? The only poll that counts will be taken just about a year from now in November of next year. And history will be made again with the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton as the first female POTUS ! After 1/2017, when someone says "President Clinton . . . . " We can say "Which one?" Like the old Virginia Slims (cigarette) commercial used to say, "You've come a long way, baby."

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Good on your for admitting it, because she is definitely going to trounce whichever of the crazies wins the Republican nomination

Doesn't matter who Hillary trounces, the people will decide and from the looks of favorability, Clinton doesn't even come close.

'I honestly think you've been watching too much Fox and actually believe that 'fair and balanced' is an accurate description of what they do.'

Stats, numbers don't lie. I know Libs have a very difficult time with math, but 120 million people (calculate that for a moment) is a large number and you don't get that in TV for anything if you're not good whatever the topic or genre is.

So glad you asked. It is very good. For US news I read The Washington Post. The newspaper you write for.

Thumbs up!!

Spot on. Where people get the idea she's a radical socialist is beyond me.

She may be for big business, but her likability is a huge problem among voters and a huge problem for her.

Reading many of these anti-Hillary comments reminds me of when I bought my first (used) car; I was eager to drive down the price, and after an excessive amount of nitpicking, the seller exclaimed, "If you want perfection, buy a new car!" Similarly, we're electing a president here; if you want perfection, join the Vatican to elect saints. I see no candidate on either side who hasn't suffered wounds, many self-inflicted, and in fact, I would be disinclined to to trust a person their age who were not the same.

Regardless of Hillary's strengths and weaknesses, the US has entered an era in which party affiliation trumps personality. Obama is all that stands between the slight gains the middle class have made during his presidency and the dystopian visions of the far right. The ACA, the minimum wage, the environment, workers' rights - most importantly, at least one and probably more Supreme Court justice nominations - all hang in the balance. So, yes, I'll embrace Hillary and will celebrate her increasingly inevitable election, even if she does remind me of my Mom.

'"corporate arse-kissing" is right, her largest donors represent corporate interests. Citibank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan to name'

Spot on. Where people get the idea she's a radical socialist is beyond me. The people at the establishments you listed are far from stupid. Bernie Sanders would scare the hell out of them but Hillary is in her element clinking glasses with that lot.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

"corporate arse-kissing" is right, her largest donors represent corporate interests. Citibank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan to name a few.

77% of the fundraising donations to Bernie Sanders are $200 or less. Clinton, by contrast, raises just 17% of her total fundraising from $200 or less. Clinton’s tax returns show that she and her husband have earned $140 million since 2007. In fact, she has paid more in taxes since 2007—$57.5 million, than Jeb Bush has earned in his entire career spanning back to 1981. And do some research regarding her support of a death tax on the middle class while evading it herself by locking up money and assets in trusts. Her hypocrisy is palpable. She's the wealthy elitist who is out of touch with average Americans.

It's also implausible that she's motivated to control education costs, as her university speaking fee is $235,000.

So liberals, continue sitting on the beach, sipping your umbrella drinks, while ignoring that tiny, but growing wave coming at you, building into a tsunami which will take back America in 2016.

it is a shame - but speaking to a rabid democrat is not possible- once the Clinton hat is on- it is on.

At issue for all of us in the general public is that we get slanted news from the US Press Corps. couple that with a private email server that was trashed before being handed over to the FBI and you have a problem.

what makes this fiasco really unfortunate is that we are so far along trying to sort out the issues, i am afraid that the primaries will pass before any information is available from the FBI either pro or con on the email matter- including Benghazi emails.

Even if the email's came back as being clear ( or nothing recoverable) why does it not stop the shear stupidity of writing an order to keep security low in an area where there is no real government. - even if you deny all knowledge later of events on the ground while your policy is in place.

that's the president you are likely to get.. so think about it

1 ( +3 / -2 )

'That doesn't sound like someone approaching this with an open mind.

Because liberals only want to believe what they can take as acceptable.

You said it yourself - you'd even take Trump over Clinton and your mad tirades against socialism seem to rule out a vote for Sanders.'

Yes, that means socialism vs socialism light. I'll go with painfully Trump's socialism light, over Hillary's working class destructive socialist policies.

What's that got to do with this election?

Meaning, I'm not a partisan, never was, but this new breed of Democrats, I need to rethink that....

You said "I don't think Hillary will be able to convince us independents" and then said "I don't need to be convinced". It's utter nonsense. You will not vote for Hillary or Sanders. Why do you persist with this nonsense of being an independent looking at this election impartially?

After what this nut has done over the last 7 years, you really have to ask that??

I honestly think you've been watching too much Fox and actually believe that 'fair and balanced' is an accurate description of what they do.

Oh, so what do you read or watch? I'm waiting, this should be good.

Please tell us in what sense Hillary Clinton is a radical.

Let's see, and veg been following the Clinton's for over 30 years and all of it a circus.

She'll give you the corporate arse-kissing and wars you crave.

I doubt she'll ever get that far.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

I surmise that those who had their hats hung on the Benghazi hearings will now pin their hopes of making Hillary disappear on the FBI investigation. As Hillary has said many times, "People call me many things, but not quitter." ! You go girl ! By the way, just because one "has the right" to do something, doesn't mean it's right to do it !

So, because YOU say it makes it so? But you lives get angry when conservatives call Obama a Praticing Muslim, then like you, they are also equally right. Got it.

Even if the stats are true, that doesn't mean they are fair and balanced at all, bass, sorry.

And that's your opinion, I respect that. Lies think Hillary is honest and trustworthy, I respect their opinion as well.

At lot of these Americans are also nutters who think it's 'balanced' to have 24 guns or some crazy number when none are needed at all.

Because we have that right, that's what I love about my country, because I can,

1) I don't need to be convinced, Obama will leave very soon. 2) I'm very happy to know at least Hillary is having a difficult time trying to get the 60% of independents that absolutely don't trust her and without independents, neither party will win.

Not sure which way to vote, eh?

I do, and it's not for liberal policies.

Watching Mrs. Clinton testify before the House Select Committee via TV I was disappointed to see her "read" prepared responses throughout the session. It looked as if someone else wrote all those responses for her ... and she merely read over them while placing emphasis on important parts. If she had answered all those questions off the top of her head I might have more respect for her. But just reading comment after comment made her look weak to me. Overall ... eleven wasted hours ... nothing really new ...

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

My respect and sympathy for Hillary has gone up recently, but lets not forget that she still has fairly strong corporatist and militarist leanings. Bernie's pulling her to the left for now, but we don't know if she'll stay that way. That said, she's still ten times better than the two clowns leading the on the other side.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I just wish both of them would go far, far away.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Hey Bass, what's your problem with Kanye West in the first comment? He is just an entertainer and fashionista, no different than Trump with his beauty pageants and dumb reality show! Could it be a race or generational thing???

Thank you to the republicans who are using American deaths to try to score political points, 8 times running now, for proving to the country that once again as with Bill and Barak, Democrats are so much smarter.

You mean, Hillary. Again, why is it you Democrats are running from the fact that Hillary lied to the parents, none of the parents believe her or trust her, debunked and lost all credibility.

Hillary played them all for the fools that they are.

But not the FBI.

As Obama has done over and over again.

At least for another 381 days. My, do wonders never cease!

We can say it now, President Hillary Clinton, with thanks to republicans for being such stooges. 2016 is going to be another democratic landslide victory as has been the case for the last two Presidential elections. She has picked a Latino VP candidate already, that will add to the landslide vote.

Lol, keep dreaming guys, keep dreaming.

Must be tough when you have to convince yourself of the things you know you are dead wrong about.

No, don't have to convince myself. Question, the FBI is investigating Hillary, right or wrong? I don't think anyone has to convince themselves of that, if you are dealing with reality. That's a fact.

How long have you been saying Trump is dead in the water, for example, and yet he still leads.

Listen, I never believed Trump wouldn't lead, I know he is and will do well, but that doesn't mean I support him, but given the choice between an ego maniac or a habitual liar, I'll go with the first choice.

You, like the Benghazi committee have been trying for more than a year to discredit Hilary and now she is more popular than ever. Well done, bass.

She discredit herself by lying and destroying her emails, no one told her to do that.

YOU have helped her, and that fact must really, really sting. So, turn on faux news and listen to Hannity scream and shout and cry and make things up if it helps you feel better, but you know full well that this committee, and your support of it and insistence on drawing it out, have only helped Hilary in the end, despite the intent being solely to destroy her support and not at all for the families of the deceased (whose graves are being spat upon by the GOP who use their memories for partisan politics only).

No one helped her. It's not over and as long as the FBI are looking and investigating they can still bring up charges and they are watching very closely. And sometimes they won't do anything for a very long time because they are building a very strong case, so we just don't know.

As for your childish retorts: "drinking cool-aid", "hitting the booze", "the cackling woman", "bride of Frankenstein", etc., are just that -- childish retorts in light of the fact that you cannot argue in an adult fashion and are just plain angry about the truth.

I'm not angry at all, I'm very, very happy because in 381 days the nightmare will be all over and I don't think Hillary will be able to convince us independents by then, so it doesn't look like a coronation at all and you Dems know, she's far from being out of the water.

Clinton is kicking the crap out of Republicans these days.

But not with the most important voting block and that's independents which by over 60% and if I'm a DNC pollster and adviser, I'd be pretty nervous.

They will retreat to the bubble and claim victory, but there aren't enough votes in the bubble to win the White House.

And then we'll see president Trump or Carson from the way things look.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Fox news even dropped coverage of the fake hearings as they could see that Hillary was mopping the floor with the republicans. Other networks did not drop coverage as they were not afraid of airing the truth. But in better news for the republicans Paul Ryan wants to be their leader in the House. He is the guy who demanded family leave if he took the job but voted against family leave for US workers multiple times. In other words, a real republican.

Certainly those depending on the government wants to vote for that lady. Just like those who hoped for change with obama, it never happened. What progressed, you may ask? the destruction of our culture that during obama and democratic power, the American culture is dwindling and the right and left are becoming further separated. And it would be most appreciated if you would stop referring to Republicans as being 'stupider'. The right and left disagree but simply insulting the other party should not be acceptable here.

Wow, the Republicans REALLY screwed up with Benghazi (again)!

How? Hmmm, she destroyed most of the mails pertaining to Benghazi, she tells her daughter, the Egyptian president and the Libyan PM it was an attack, it was specially a jihadist terrorist attack. So how did they screw up? Please give some more reefer facts.

Not only did they fail in their partisan

But Elijah Cummings wasn't as the rest of the Kool aid drinking Dems on the Committee?

attempt to take the deaths of four Americans, spit on their graves, and then blame Clinton while actually giving up classified information THEMSELVES,

So why are all the families blaming the Dems and Hillary and Obama? Are they all on drugs? Did the GOP force them at gunpoint to side with them against Hillary?

I got a ladder for you.

they have effectively succeeded in guaranteeing her the nomination, and likely the presidency.

That joke was as good as Kanye West announcing he was running for the presidency? ROFLMAO

Gowdy said earlier this week that it has been one of the worst weeks of his life as it became clearer and clearer even to Republicans in denial that the whole thing was a smear campaing, but now the guy can't even address the media as to what they 'learned' from the whole fiasco, and all the while it has made the Republicans look stupider than ever! Well done!

Meaning that the corruption by a Democratic administration of stonewalling is stifling, frustrating and dirty.

Go Hilary

Go justice system

The GOP Shia Tea had their pound of flesh, and they may well choke on it.

The FBI seemed delighted too and remember, the mails are still coming. I love technology!

Madame Clinton achieved her goal in reaching for statesmanship. Well done, Madame Clinton.

The cackling woman did well, not a win, but even with that, her problem with connecting to people and her likability polls are in the toilet.

The coiled vipers of the Shia Tea could not strike against the disciplined respectful tone of truthful composure. Another disaster for the GOP Shia Tea.

You lobs are really cracking me up. It's not even 12 noon and you guys are already hitting the booze? ROL

The committee made everything nice and easy for her. All they did basically was badger, interrupt, and raise their voices at her. With the passage of time, they looked worse and worse. She looked better and better. Then there is the "Trump Effect" on the other GOP candidates. They look and sound as if they are in a contest to determine which of them can espouse the most ridiculous, absurd, and fact free remark about her. Madame President guys, get used to it !

Counting the chickens before they hatch is never accurate.

She clearly admitted to lying to the public saying it was a anti-Islamic video knowing it was an al-Qaida related group. Certainly a politically motivated lie. Certainly was not to protect anyone other than the upcoming election.....-Honorable? Not in my definition.

Clinton told female supporters gathered for a party event that she tried to “rise above partisanships and reach for statesmanship” in her testimony before a Republican-led House committee investigating her handling of the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

The GOP Shia Tea had their pound of flesh, and they may well choke on it. Madame Clinton achieved her goal in reaching for statesmanship. Well done, Madame Clinton.

Wow, the Republicans REALLY screwed up with Benghazi (again)! Not only did they fail in their partisan attempt to take the deaths of four Americans, spit on their graves, and then blame Clinton while actually giving up classified information THEMSELVES, they have effectively succeeded in guaranteeing her the nomination, and likely the presidency. Well done!

Go Hilary!

And here is the unintended culmination of Benghazigate. After 11 hours of kneeslappers like 'Were you alone all night?' Clinton took in a record amount of donations. JEB! on the other hand cut his campaign by 40%. Carson is leading Trump in Iowa. Cruz, who is loathed by GWBush, is third in Iowa. Break out the popcorn.

@Sangetsu Having lived in Washington

Are you the JT poster who used to write for one of the DC papers? Even if you aren't, when you lived in DC you saw - your words - "utterly ambitious and power-hungry" people, sharks feeding on sharks, the real world of high stakes politics in action every day, everywhere. (Also the world of business where some say greed is good, and to a slightly lesser degree even the academic world.) I think Tokyo, London, Sydney, Ottawa, wherever, it's the same; the most aggressive and often nastiest people end up at the top by beating other aggressive people there first.

No person who gets elected to any office in the US or probably anywhere at any level can be a shrinking violet. Each one is personally ambitious. Odd that so many posters see Trump's viciousness as an asset but Clinton's as a detriment, isn't it. Odd that so many who see Putin's viciousness as a positive see hers as a detriment.

But then beliefs shape perception, don't they. My side's viciousness is good, other side's bad. By the way, I'm not supporting Clinton nor any other candidate, but I am frightened for the world if one of the GOP candidates is elected by the US.

I've always been on the fence regarding Hillary Clinton.

After yesterday's performance, I'd have no problem voting for her. I don't think anyone on either side of the aisle could have shown that much intelligence, grace and stamina.

Bernie Sanders = Eat the rich , embrace mediocrity , Reward laziness ------ Republican

Clinton = Worker . anti-immigrant , embrace the rich , destroy the national identity

......or a third Bush! Hillary has said he enemy is the Republicans, how on earth can she work in DC with half of the population she needs to work with are despised? I was hopeing Joe Biden would run, he has more integrity by far than Hillary.

Oh, and what sets her apart from Obama....she's a woman. What a joke! And this makes her more electable? The best person for the job, not a gender decision, not a racial decision when electing.

If they are "coalescing" around her, it is not because they genuinely like her, but because she is the only viable candidate, which is a tragedy. Having lived in Washington, and being acquainted with the Clinton white house, I am surprised, and not surprised that she wants to be president. I am not surprised because Hillary is beyond ambitious, and would sell her daughter's organs to be president. On the other hand I am surprised because anyone who knows Hillary dislikes her, and no one who spent a few hours with her would ever vote for her. The staff in the white house liked Bill Clinton, but Hillary was avoided like the black plague. I have mixed feelings about her as president. I think she is a far stronger leader than Obama, and capable of getting the things she wants done pushed through. On the other hand, as a matter of principle, I hate people who are so utterly ambitious and power-hungry that they will drive a truck over anyone who stands in their way. Lastly, we have had two Bushes in the white house, we don't need two Clintons.
