Go ahead and tax corporations, watch them leave the U.S., tax individuals, watch them leave the U.S.

Not all jobs are created equal and we need to stop using blanket statements like "job creators" just because you have a business.

The real "job creators"? A thriving middle class that has money to spend.

FYI the $10 an hour Walmart employee may pay taxes but it's refunded at tax time. The earned income tax credit if I recall correctly. The $75k a year salary is taxed through the nose and $75,000 a year is not much in urban centers.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will make boosting middle class incomes and wages the focus of her economic agenda

Hillary is just telling the walking dead what they want to hear. Works all the time, for both sides. I'll never vote for her.

Hey you White House...Ha Haaaa...charade you are

Go ahead and tax corporations, watch them leave the U.S., tax individuals, watch them leave the U.S.

And when the country they move to suddenly is taxed higher than another country, then their lawyers will file a few papers and the company will hop to a 3rd country. The only tax rate corporations will accept these days is 0%. The big boys in the US pay nothing by keeping profits overseas (then they "loan" it back to themselves). They also get billions in government handouts as well. If you have a better deal than that, I'd like to see it.

Personally, I think we need a sliding corporate tax rate which takes into account how much revenue the company distributes in the US. If your company has an average salary of $75,000 a year then I think you should be taxed at rates much lower than a Walmart who pays $10 an hour. Not all jobs are created equal and we need to stop using blanket statements like "job creators" just because you have a business.

Also, if you're hoarding all of the cash for a select few at the top of the company, then I have no problem taxing the hell out of you. I don't want my taxes to pay to support your employees because they can't live off of the wages you pay them.

Yup, THAT should put MORE of us OUT of work. What a GREAT idea ! Like raising minimum wage so McDonalds will LAY OFF more people. Excellent thinking.

We'll have to wait and see. Biden can be a game changer. Clintons emails and foundation can be a game changer. And many Dems seem to like Sanders. Hillary has the media and the cash in her hands.

The republicans are a bit out of hand. The field is diluted and monies will not match the focused democratic funds.

But, most in the nation do see we need a change. Let's wait and see how that is interpreted in the primaries.

@kurobune: If she is elected, How do you call her husband?

USA people may elect her against jeb. unless Jeb will have clear economic issues explain now.

Get used to it folks, "Madame President" !

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

No matter what major party, they make promises and don't keep them. For that reason I would vote for a " non- Groomed" candidate. Go Dr. Carson!

A change between the two party system is welcome. The democrats promise the world to everyone. The republicans are not so fiscally catastrophic. In the end, the average citizen gets squeezed tighter and tighter.

Jobs are what we need. Good paying private sector jobs. Reduce the state and fed wasts in efficiency and spending. Private sectors competes and generates new tax dollars. State and Feds are paid from those tax dollars and do produce 'new' taxable income.

H modifies her speech that will apply to each state.differently.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Great, then she'll look at reducing the number of H-1BVisas allowed? Doubtful. I have highly skilled friends who are unwilling to lie on their resume/CV that go without jobs for years as the seek a position that pays within 10% of their prior position.

I suppose "The Donald" will be gone from the scene before the first primary is even held early next year ! He hasn't a snowball's chance in Hades of winning the nomination, let alone the general election !

H is now targetting middle class away from Gop while DT is sabotarging GOP DT used to be H backer

Trump has changed parties 5 or 6 times and will get votes from across the spectrum. He is tapping into decades of frustration and anger by most Americans in the lunacy of political correctness, the corruption of their government, of becoming a laughingstock of the world. It’s been brewing for so long it will not go away in only a few months.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Er...um...strangerland, ir you read my post "his delivery was extreem" refers to Trump's overstatement of 'every' and 'all'. Trump did make valid points and recent statistics show this......if you read them.

1) People on the top can reside in other tax sheltering nations. Reducing those taxes.

2) Yes, they do. Perhaps liberalism promoted that.

3) Tax them more and they will find safe wealth haven.

My point is valid if one can envision beyond what you are told. Imposing regulations are un-American and has been commonplace for decades. New regulations give opportunity for many to skirt regulations. No surprise there.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I'll give credit to Trump saying illegal immigration is a problem but his delivery was extreem.

The problem wasn't in calling out illegal immigrants, it was that he then went on to call all mexicans rapists and drug dealers etc. If you think he was only saying it about immigrants, then you didn't see his speech, or read the transcript (like I did).

An important point missed strangerland......Globalization. You missed the fact that third world nations have become risen from third world.

1) Who do you think makes the money from this globalization? The people at the top.

2) Who do you think makes the decision to outsource the work to third world countries? The people at the top.

3) Where do these people at the top live? In first world countries.

Your point changes nothing. What I said still stands. The money is there, and it's being horded by a tiny percentage of the population.

While I agree no person is worth several million dolllars a year. Tell that to the Clintons.

Why only the Clintons? You don't think every Republican candidate out there is the same?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I'll give credit to Trump saying illegal immigration is a problem but his delivery was extreem. They guy is as reed businessman and calls a spade a spade. Clearly playing the PC game like all other politicians isn't a Trump characteristic.

The thing is, they could be. Back in the '50s and '60s, a man could support a wife and two kids off a retail job, or a supermarket clerk job. But then capitalism kicked in, and wealth redistribution shifted the huge bulk of the money to a tiny number of people. Now we have people like you pushing for these small numbers of people to continue receiving the lions share of the money, while the lower class struggles working multiple jobs. This leads to multiple problems - higher crime rates, and a more stagnant economy since there isn't as much money flowing. With higher wages for the lower classes, people have less incentive to go out and do crime to make ends meet, and they have more money to spend, stimulating the economy, which is better for everyone.

The money exists, it's just being hoarded by those at the top.

An important point missed strangerland......Globalization. You missed the fact that third world nations have become risen from third world. In the 50's enter German and Japanese imports cheap alternatives to USA made products. The 60's enter the second family car and the second, third or fourth television set for a home. And the German and Japanese products become equitable prices, Korea has a go and in the 80's on, the world created a Chinese giant which is a problem now. The turn of the century we see nations like Vietnam, India, and the bloom of NAFTA -Mexico. It's a different world and economy. While I agree no person is worth several million dolllars a year. Tell that to the Clintons. Tell that to Hollywood. Tell that to major sports athletes. In the 50's ones family could go to a baseball game. Today it's a $150 day (cheap seats) And baseball is cheap. Try a 3D movie in the theater, $20+ a ticket. Family of five-$100 add popcorn and a drink $12 each. $160 to watch a movie on the big screen.....yet it's done everyday. Sports stadiums are more. Time than not sell outs.

The bailed out banks also gave hefty bonuses the following year. Nobody raised a stink.

Go ahead and tax corporations, watch them leave the U.S., tax individuals, watch them leave the U.S.. We need MORE jobs, not less.

The power needs to be back in the people's hands. I want to buy "Made in USA" products. I avoid made in China and to a lesser extent Mexico products. Produce here and consume here and the market will dictate the salaries. Yet developing nations will suffer.

The best solution is not Hillary Clinton suggested. What the USA really needs is major income tax reform with a far simpler tax code that encourages savings and capital formation staying in the USA (which encourages real economic growth all around) and a major overhaul of business regulations so the cost of compliance is much lower.

Lizz:

No candidate so far has gotten the crowds of Donald Trump today at his rally in Phoenix

Half of them went there to take a look at his hair. The other half were paid to go.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

If you want Sanders move to France (Cuba without the sun). No candidate so far has gotten the crowds of Donald Trump today at his rally in Phoenix so thankfully a 90% tax rate is not the only way the wind is blowing.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The Gospel of the 'squeezed middle', from a economic stand point will require less government, if not more growth.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

As usual Clinton will say what the polls tell her to say and do what her corporate sponsors tell her to do.

In my opinion Sanders is the only candidate who will fight for the 99%.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"voters have heard it all before... and know its all a lie..."

Voters may have heard it all before, but a lot of them still don't know its all a lie.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Are you listening Abe?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

FYI: Bernie Sanders recently topped 20% for national primary Dem voters on a open field. Against HCR a lone, he's at 35% to her 40 something.

And now Clinton trots out the middle class big reveal.

I am glad to see which way the wind is blowing. While I think she'd make a damn fine president, I prefer someone who started blowing.

And what will really happen is Government, politicians, bureaucrats, government employees and all of their sycophants and relatives will get a nice boost in pay, while the rest of the people of america will be forced to pay for it. Hilary like all politicians and bureaucrats in the democratic party, follow the marxist economy Karl Marx defined in his manifesto, which uses the progressive and graduated tax system and control of most industry to ensure most money gets funneled to the government, so the people in government live well. This is the real effect of anything Hilary plans.

Where would they be without their $500 toilet seats?

And the tank makers: http://www.military.com/daily-news/2015/01/28/pentagon-tells-congress-to-stop-buying-equipment-it-doesnt-need.html

There are literally parking lots and parking lots of unused unneeded tanks. But if they stopped making them, the makers couldn't continue to receive their handouts and freebies. Freebies and not being made accountable for their own economy.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"Freebies is all the poor and liberal deadbeats care about."

The banks, who got nearly a trillion bucks bail out as a reward for driving their own business into the ground, care about his even more. So do the Pentagon and all their contractors. Where would they be without their $500 toilet seats?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

She knows the biggest Santa Claus wins. Freebies is all the poor and liberal deadbeats care about. Freebies and not being made to take responsibility for their lives.

You channel the voice of Faux News well young padwan.

Only private sector can pull the nations economy out of the sluggishness it has been in.

A statement of faith by the right; empirically false.

And we Democrats know this. And that is why you will lose. And we will win.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Hey Hillary, the private sector can take care of itself when employee competition exists. U.S. Needs to create more well paying jobs and increased wages will happen. Retail and fast food are not family wage earning professions.

The thing is, they could be. Back in the '50s and '60s, a man could support a wife and two kids off a retail job, or a supermarket clerk job. She talks the talk pre-election, but with her deep ties to the NY financial elite, it's unlikely she'll keep her promises. Obama was going to curb the influence of special interest groups and we know how well that went...

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Hey Hillary, the private sector can take care of itself when employee competition exists. U.S. Needs to create more well paying jobs and increased wages will happen. Retail and fast food are not family wage earning professions. Let's get production back into the states and employ the record high number of potential workers who left the workforce.

Employ more = increaced tax base = less number of people relient on fed handouts = prosperity = reduce debt.

Only private sector can pull the nations economy out of the sluggishness it has been in.
