Sad situation. People see photos on social media and jump in the car to compensate for their FOMO. They had many thousands of cars pass through this village in the middle of a snowstorm. Just stay home folks... the TikTok posts aren't worth it.

As of late Saturday, the death toll included 10 men, 10 children and two women, Rehman said.

In one instance, a husband and wife and their two children all died in their car. In another, four young friends died together, he said.

Absolutely tragic, my thoughts are with the families.

I wonder about the last photo. Is it of the coffins/graves where these people were buried? That was fast. Or is it just a photo of a nearby cemetery meant to represent the dead?

Tragic. The preexisting cemetery is just nearby and the photo is just an incidental reference to the snowfall @Kumagaijin 11:38am, not relevant to the recently deceased. (JT needs to address this as it’s often overlooked by some readers: “click on the accompanying photos to read the captions”).

If you get trapped in your car like this during a snowstorm, don’t panic. Get out of your car once an hour and remove snow from around the tailpipe, then get back in your car start the engine and let the heater run for 10 or 15 minutes and turn off the engine. An hour later, get out and repeat the process of getting out of the car and keeping the tailpipe clear and warm the car up again and again turning off the engine. Repeat, repeat, repeat. You can survive for hours like this provided that you have gas in the fuel tank. Conserve the fuel, maintain a path from the driver’s door to the tailpipe. Keep the tailpipe clear so you can start the engine and keep the car and engine warmed up periodically, and wait for the cavalry to arrive.
