Less than 6 weeks after New Zealand mass shooting, lawmakers banned assault rifles.

20 years after Columbine, U.S. lawmakers are still fully committed to lip service.

The homegrown radical right wing groups in this country are every bit as dangerous as foreign terrorists. Timothy McVeigh was no better than Osama Bin Laden. They're all armed to the teeth. And they're all hiding right in plain sight. Traitors masquerading as patriots.

Quite so, just look at the actual statistics since Columbine. (Right if the teachers and everyone else had a gun these wouldnt have happened! SARCASM!)

Kudos to the author for not including the names of the shooters in this article. They don't deserve the recognition.

Thanks @Yubara

it is easy to just read the numbers, but each person has maybe 20 extended family members and at least 10 friend...so multiply 1 by 30.

Tragic.

It's because in all these other countries, they don't have gun ownership as a constitutionally protected right.

Yeah, fortunately other countries didn’t make that mistake.

*The Gun Lobby’s interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime. The real purpose of the Second Amendment was to ensure that state armies – the militia – would be maintained for the defense of the state. The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires.** *

– Warren Burger, Conservative Supreme Court Chief Justice

You can call it a mistake if you wish. Certainly doesn't bother any of the responsible gun owners who take it seriously.

The Columbine bombers and the Oklahoma bombers had several things in common. One was their disregard for human life. Another was their ability to build bombs. Identify these sociopaths, as was done with this particular woman, is the key to reducing this type of violence. Blaming an inanimate object for the actions of its user isn’t going to stop acts of violence.

20 years already. And what has America learned in the meantime? What steps have been taken to prevent such a senseless loss of life?
