Comey makes deal over House subpoena; backs off legal fight

As part of a deal with legislators, Comey has been told that he is free to speak about the questioning afterward and that a transcript would be released 24 hours after he testifies, his attorney, David Kelley, said.

That requires a mighty big 'trust me'. 'Individual 1' and the GOP have shown little if anything they say can be believed. Time will tell.

It must be baffling to see a legitimate investigation. One of the many benefits of access to free, for-profit media is the ability to follow events like this.

The Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, decried Comey's use of "baseless litigation" and called it an "attempt to run out the clock on this Congress," a reference to the few weeks left before Democrats take control.

Blimey, you really think so?  Seems to me that Mueller has slowly, intelligently and steadily put together what is increasingly look like a solid case.  He has refrained from twittering, making false and outrageous statements and constantly lying.  Others have not.  Where is the shambles?  Now I suppose it could be that he has nothing, this is a witch hunt controlled by Clinton loving raging democrats, that all those indicted are weak and liars.  All of them!  Even those that pleaded guilty.  But you know what?  I think there might be something here.  Time will tell.  Quite soon is my guess.

The GOP Congress stinks. Cohen has admitted lying to them multiple times. Dems demanded clarity on several of these points, but the Repubs blocked them. Egg on face now and zero trust. Talk about a witch hunt.

Repubs blocked quite a few things from being investigated as they solidified their "party before country" position.

All of that goes away very soon.
