He arrives in Britain on Monday for a state visit at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth before attending World War Two commemorations in France and visiting Ireland.

I wonder how Trump managed to buy off the Queen? Trump is an embarrassment to the US!

"President Trump’s attempt to decide who will be Britain’s next prime minister is an entirely unacceptable interference in our country’s democracy."

Trump disdains democracy. He and his far-right supporters are doing whatever they can to undermine the democratic principles framed by the US Constitution so they can establish a new authoritarian order favoring a subset of the globe's elite.

Why is Bannon (another right-winger trying to undermine US democratic principles in order to establish a new authoritarian order favoring a subset of the globe's elite) also involving himself in UK affairs?

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2019/05/28/world/politics-diplomacy-world/steve-bannon-sees-friend-nigel-farage-running-british-pm/#.XPL3b9MzZWM

And then there are Putin's forces also trying to undermine democracies in the UK, North America, western Europe and elsewhere in order to establish a new authoritarian order favoring a subset of the globe's elite.

EU officials say the Kremlin has for years been using disinformation to sow discord and confusion across Europe, while undermining voters' trust in the European Union and its democracies.

"quite stupefying ignorance that makes him frankly unfit to hold the office of president of the United States"

Boris Johnson, 2015

On the premise that whatever Trump says will never come true, is this some kind of revenge? And then we have to ask who Putin really wants to be Tory leader.

Also, very pretty flowers, lavender and roses.

Trump's junket to Buck House is perfectly timed to feed the canny Corbyn a few talking points to raise his sagging profile. Under pressure from his party and in danger of dropping the Brexit aka Remain ball, picking a fight with America's narcissistic, twittering, motormouth president always willing to oblige his critics by gifting them juicy headlines should put some momentum back into Corbyn's lackluster campaign for Brexit and beyond.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

BJ described trump as being "out of his mind"

He has some sane opinions

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Corbyn doesn't need anyone to ruin his chances of success in politics. He does that easily himself!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Can’t wait for Boris to do a no-deal Brexit and take us out! Oh, and go Trump 2020!

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

The Great Orange Idiot can't be content with causing chaos and craziness in the US - he has to "export" it.

Donnie, let's put a tariff on your mouth and twitter - any statements on a foreign subject results in an immediate $1 Billion tariff, paid by your own money.

It's not that much right, just what you lost over 10 years as a failed businessman...

8 ( +9 / -1 )

What’s the problem? The Brits have been interfering and commenting on our politics since we went independent.

Can’t wait for Boris to do a no-deal Brexit and take us out! Oh, and go Trump 2020!

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Well of course Trump doesn't think anything amiss about foreigners meddling in a nation's political process (looking at you, Vlad) and FWIW Johnson and Trump look alike too!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Brexit as it requires reading.

Most Brits see Trump unfavorably. Johnson himself probably has no feelings about Trump and called him names because he thought it would be politically advantageous to do so.

Corbyn himself needs to start being clear about where he stands. The Tories have been utterly incompetent but Labour aren’t trouncing them in the polls as they should be. This is one of the few times I agree with Belrick. Get your own act together Jezza.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

@bss4Can’t wait for Boris to do a no-deal Brexit and take us out!

Us? Are you British now too, or are you referring to the globalist authoritarian bund you've long supported?

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Corbyn was happy to praise Fidel Castro, who never allowed any elections at all. Corbyn also likes Maduro, Putin, Iran, Hezbollah and the IRA. For Corbyn the armed struggle is always preferable to democracy.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

That's just the sort of thing that Corbyn would say!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I can't allow the snide mention of Castro to pass without reminding people of the harsh reality that "free" elections in Cuba would have meant nothing less than their being bought by, and then the country sold to, yes that's right, the US government. Corbyn merely defended the right of the Cuban people to live as a sovereign nation and not as a Yanqui colony.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Brexit as it requires reading.

Thats why he has advisors to brief and teach him. All Presidents do.

Most Brits see Trump unfavorably.

Most Americans don’t care what others think. Brits have been critical of every President since we gained our independence. They definitely hated Washington.

Johnson himself probably has no feelings about Trump and called him names because he thought it would be politically advantageous to do so.

Whatever works, he’s taken a piece of Trump’s playbook.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Corbyn was happy to praise Fidel Castro, who never allowed any elections at all. Corbyn also likes Maduro, Putin, Iran, Hezbollah and the IRA. For Corbyn the armed struggle is always preferable to democracy.

Well, there you go.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

Does anybody really care what he thinks?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

But, of course, perfectly fine for EU officials to interfere in UK politics. And UK officials to interfere in U.S. politics!!

What a load of tosh from a terrorist-loving useless sack of cow manure!!

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Most Brits see Trump unfavorably.

Most Americans don’t care what others think.

Maybe but you certainly used to. You used to complain non-stop about how Obama was making the US a laughing stock around the world.

You did a screeching 180 on this after after you did a screeching 180 on Trump. You ridiculed Trump him like Johnson did.

On the subject of the UK disliking all US presidents, Clinton and Obama were quite popular in the UK. Your post is fake news.

Bush 2, the president your still nameless non-partisan historians regarded as a success, was despised for the Iraq disgrace.

It’s a mixed bag.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Brexit as it requires reading.

Thats why he has advisors to brief and teach him. All Presidents do.

Well, I'm glad you admit he is a Dimwit and needs advisers to tell him things like "Tokyo is the capital of Japan, not Seoul"....

But you're wrong if you think he is intelligent or patient enough to listen to any of them;

Tillertson tried and he gave up and called him a " _____ moron"...

Kelly tried and he gave up and called him an "Idiot"...

Mattis tried and he gave up and said he had "the understanding of a fifth or sixth grader"...

Most Brits see Trump unfavorably.

Most Americans don’t care what others think. Brits have been critical of every President since we gained our independence. They definitely hated Washington.

Britain is our Number 1 ally and friend - and they have admired quite a few of our Presidents; certainly FDR for coming to their defense in WW II, but also as has been pointed out, Kennedy, Clinton, and Obama. They even admired Ike for his wartime record and for supporting Europe and standing up to the Soviets.

Johnson himself probably has no feelings about Trump and called him names because he thought it would be politically advantageous to do so.

Whatever works, he’s taken a piece of Trump’s playbook.

"Whatever works" - spoken like a true crime mob boss - no character, no integrity, no dignity - yes, that's Trump's playbook...

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Whatever works, he’s taken a piece of Trump’s playbook.

Well, if that's true I guess you're OK with Biden saying the following;

Don Jr, Eric, and Ivanka are all illegitimate - they were born to hookers Donnie was fooling around with at the time - could be true....

Donnie says his Dad was born in Germany, and Donnie was born in Germany also to his German born Dad - which makes him ineligible to be President - could be true...

In 1998 when Donnie was friends with the Clinton's, he had an affair with Hillary, who was mad at Bill for the Monica Lewinsky scandal - could be true...

Let the truth get out...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

On behalf of the American people, I extend a sincere apology to the British people.

However, bear in mind that in the last presidential election, more Americans voted against Trump than voted for him. It is only because of the weird way that America counts votes that the loser gets to win.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

It is only because of the weird way that America counts votes that the loser gets to win.

Helped along the way with gerrymandering and voter suppression.

2020: Drain the swamp, and disinfect the scum on top!

bass4funk:

Can’t wait for Boris to do a no-deal Brexit and take us out! Oh, and go Trump 2020!

As someone just asked, who is 'us'? But, yes, I also want to see Trump go!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Both Trump and Bolton interfering with the conservative party leadership battle and also he Brexit. It will be very bad taste and protocol if during his state dinner with the queen Trump in his speech mention Boris and also Brexit but knowing Trump grafts we can expect that.

We were saying the exact same thing for 2 years in our country.

Well, I'm glad you admit he is a Dimwit

No, don’t cherrypick, I said, “all Presidents.”

.

You used to complain non-stop about how Obama was making the US a laughing stock around the world.

Yes, by being weak, capitulation and appeasing the enemy.

But you're wrong if you think he is intelligent or patient enough to listen to any of them.

How many people have buildings in their name, destroy the former First Lady and 17 establishment Republicans and then make it to the Presidency as an outsider? You can’t be a dummy to achieve that.

Britain is our Number 1 ally and friend - and they have admired quite a few of our Presidents;

Good for them, bu for the average American, they could care less and won’t lose any sleep over it. The Brits butt in our politics all the time, we do the same, big deal.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Trump's dictionary does not list the word diplomacy. It's an unknown concept to him. He does not know when to shut up either.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

@bass

They definitely hated Washington.

And judging from the many words of wisdom George Washington bequeathed us, he would likewise have had nothing good to say about the personal qualities of your "hero" and his sinister role in present-day politics:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.”

A perfect description of how Trumpism has triumphed in America

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Well, I'm glad you admit he is a Dimwit

No, don’t cherrypick, I said, “all Presidents.”

Your exact quote is below - don't flip-flop...

Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Brexit as it requires reading.

*Thats why he has advisors to brief and teach him. **All Presidents do.*

You used to complain non-stop about how Obama was making the US a laughing stock around the world.

Yes, by being weak, capitulation and appeasing the enemy.

Boy, does that description fit Trump to a T - capitulating to Putin and Kim, sucking up to the Saudi's, insulting our allies... He is the Appeaser in Chief....

But you're wrong if you think he is intelligent or patient enough to listen to any of them.

How many people have buildings in their name, destroy the former First Lady and 17 establishment Republicans and then make it to the Presidency as an outsider? You can’t be a dummy to achieve that.

Sure you can - you just to have Putin and the Internet Research Agency on your side - and a lot of gullible people who fall for all the Russian authored propaganda...

Britain is our Number 1 ally and friend - and they have admired quite a few of our Presidents;

Good for them, bu for the average American, they could care less and won’t lose any sleep over it. The Brits butt in our politics all the time, we do the same, big deal.

So you're now admitting that they do admire our Presidents?

Corbyn accuses Trump of interfering in UK politics with Johnson comments

Sounds like someone's a little jealous. Both Trump and Corbyn are as despicable as each other, but of course Corbyn wants validation from his idol. Getting shunned like that must have really bruised his ego.

To be honest though, getting endorsed by someone like Trump is not something to be proud of. It's like being endorsed by Hitler.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Sadiq Khan's reaction was good:

President Donald Trump is just one of the most egregious examples of a growing global threat. The far right is on the rise around the world, threatening our hard-won rights and freedoms and the values that have defined our liberal, democratic societies for more than 70 years.

Viktor Orbán in Hungary, Matteo Salvini in Italy, Marine Le Pen in France and Nigel Farage here in the UK are using the same divisive tropes of the fascists of the 20th century to garner support, but with new sinister methods to deliver their message. And they are gaining ground and winning power and influence in places that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Both Trump and Corbyn are as despicable as each other, but of course Corbyn wants validation from his idol.

Does ‘his idol’ mean Trump? I don’t think Corbyn wants Trump’s approval.

Do you think Corbyn would advertise being supported by a failed plutocrat who cuts taxes on the rich and calls the policies of Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders ‘crazy’? Similarly, Corbyn and Labour court ethnic minority votes. I don’t think the support of a man who retweeted dodgy videos from a known British racist organization would go down well with them.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

And judging from the many words of wisdom George Washington bequeathed us, he would likewise have had nothing good to say about the personal qualities of your "hero" and his sinister role in present-day politics:

I doubt he would have less flattering things to say about the socialists that are dismantling old statues of people they don’t like, damned history and feel like they need to reshape the past.

Boy, does that description fit Trump to a T - capitulating to Putin

Going after Maduro, killed a bunch of Russians in Syria, reinstated the boycott of Cuba, capitulation, hardly.

sucking up to the Saudi's,

All Presidents have done it, Obama as well.

insulting our allies...

He should, especially if they start to act like idiots and besides, who cares, these people have been insulting us for a very long time, but when they need our help, they smile and offer us little, but they always want dat dollar!

Sure you can - you just to have Putin and the Internet Research Agency on your side - and a lot of gullible people who fall for all the Russian authored propaganda...

Its The President of the United that is invited for a three-day state visit.

The controversy and animosity directed towards Donald Trump has to be toned down out if respect for the Office President Trump holds.

For Jeremy Corbyn and London Mayor Sadiq Khan to refuse an invitation to attend a state banquet in President Trumps honour, is an act of childish pompous posturing.

Both Corbyn and Khan are perhaps the most incompetent politicians ever to hold office. Kahn track record on knife crime is appalling.

As Leader of the opposition Corbyn performance has lurched between the unacceptably ineffectual to the downright gormless.

With a formal investigation launched into Labour Party anti-Semitism by the Equality and Human Rights Commission hanging over Corbyn's head it is little wonder he is attempting to run for cover criticizing Donald Trump intervention into the Conservative Leadership race.

An intervention that is not going to make an iota of difference to the final outcome.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

But it was also a sad loss to see so many rights previously enjoyed eroded away by various acts.

I agree. That’s what happens when there’s no written constitution.

Rights can be eroded with or without a constitution. Remember the Patriot Act?

Voicing an opinion is NOT interference... plain and simple.

It does affect politics and individuals and even organizations, but an opinion is an opinion.

Brits as with every politician in the world comments on Trump. They often do it in their parliaments and legislative bodies and even comes out in their news. But then, it is their opinion and even if that may affect politics, that is what the political arena is all about.

And as does Trump when he sees and hears an opinion regarding himself, he fights right back. So this is expected and probably is beneficial for the world to have such differences aired in the open. (That is as long as the media does not misquote or misuse such arguments or misrepresent the facts.)

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Its The President of the United that is invited for a three-day state visit.

The Orange President...assisted by a red Putin...

The controversy and animosity directed towards Donald Trump has to be toned down out if respect for the Office President Trump holds.

He sullies it every day by his corrupt and criminal behavior...

For Jeremy Corbyn and London Mayor Sadiq Khan to refuse an invitation to attend a state banquet in President Trumps honour, is an act of childish pompous posturing.

Compared to Trump, they're English high gentlemen...

Both Corbyn and Khan are perhaps the most incompetent politicians ever to hold office. Kahn track record on knife crime is appalling.

Bet they didn't say of Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists; "Some are good people"...

As Leader of the opposition Corbyn performance has lurched between the unacceptably ineffectual to the downright gormless.

Gormless - that's what Stormy said....

With a formal investigation launched into Labour Party anti-Semitism by the Equality and Human Rights Commission hanging over Corbyn's head it is little wonder he is attempting to run for cover criticizing Donald Trump intervention into the Conservative Leadership race.

Well, Donald is "winning" in that category, he has over 20 current ongoing investigations...

An intervention that is not going to make an iota of difference to the final outcome.

An intervention is what Trump needs - his family and staff should listen to Nancy..

Just ignore the orange orangutang. He's only meddling if you let him, and he thrives on the attention, like any two-year-old would.

@itsonlyrocknroll

Do you really believe the farshtunken "antisemitism Geschrei parroted by the the UK's right-wing gutter press whose source is most likely Israeli agents attempting to discredit Corbyn, a vociferous critic of Israeli outrages against the Palestinians. The likelihood of an Israeli disinformation campaign being behind the accusations of "antisemitism" is founded on the suspicious silence of another anti-Corbyn organization, the otherwise well-informed GCHQ which remains shtum on this phony witch hunt.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Going after Maduro, killed a bunch of Russians in Syria, reinstated the boycott of Cuba, capitulation, hardly.

Is Maduro gone? He can't even get rid of a tiny Dictator. Mattis killed a bunch of Russians in Syria, and once Trump found out, he had to get on his knees and beg forgiveness from Vlad. Cuba - he's doing what Putin has told him to do - give it back to Russia. Appeaser...

Right... got any quotes of British Prime Ministers saying who would make a good US President?

And as does Trump when he sees and hears an opinion regarding himself, he fights right back.

Which does him no good at all because the attacks keep coming. Think Nancy Pelosi is ever going to stop saying mean things about him because he writes tweets about her?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

@zichi

I was referring to America, like the difference from 1960's to 2000, so many lost rights

Good point. Which rights were you thinking of?

I believe there to be factions within the Labour Party that are anti-Semitic, whether the Party is institutionally anti-Semitic I will reserve judgment until the EHRC publish its findings.

A guide to Labour Party anti-Semitism claims

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-45030552

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the US democratic system of government and especially the office President Trump occupies.

That does not imply, I agree with President Trump politics, his handling of the economy, his policies on immigration. Or his infuriating behaviour and his lack of manners and social graces.

President Trump accepted the invitation, by all mean activists can demonstrate there disapproval, strongly condemn and denounce his policies.

However my humble opinion is politicians not extending the good grace and courtesy to attend a state banquet in President Trump honour is resorting to petty politicking.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It is a tough one. Khan in particular is in a tough position after Trump retweeted dodgy videos from a racist organization showing Muslims in a bad light. As a Muslim of Pakistani heritage, have a right to be personally repulsed by this revolting man. Corbyn is simply playing for votes.

I think it’s a bit of both.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Certainly there is no excuse for Donald Trump retweet of Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of Britain First, repulsive inflammatory video.

When in high office, one has to accept, sometime through gritted teeth a course of action that goes totally against the grain, you have rise above President Trump clearly virulent anti-Muslim tweet and show statesmanship to further relations.

It also might give an opportunity to politely challenge Donald Trump on a number of key issues which would be difficult if not impossible if you refuse a seat at the table.

More and more isolated, more countries look a Guiado as the legitimate leader, he has time, Maduro is on borrowed time.

Not like Donnie's doing it...

All the same, no difference.

Insult our allies, praise Putin and Kim - he just hates America......

Then he wouldn’t need to be President. $400.000 is not worth the aggravation. As for Praising Russia, he didn’t allow them to annex Crimea and Kim has to off some of his people because he couldn’t get a deal with Trump. Now the Democrats hate Trump more than they love the country because they’re still infatuated with the Russian hoax collusion delusion. Lol

In the same article Trump had a go at Megan Markle, who really doesn't like him. As ever, his grasp on facts and reality is tenuous at best and his ability to lie is extraordinary:

in a series of early morning tweets on Sunday, the US president said he “never called Meghan Markle nasty” and that the “Fake News Media” had invented his remarks.

He said it was “Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold! Will CNN, NY Times and others apologize? Doubt it!”

The Sun posted a recording of the original interview, proving that their reporting was accurate.

No, his power has been greatly diminished, clock ticking. Only China and Russia support him, the rest of the world leaders don’t.

Fast ans furious? Why now the double standard?

Oh, did I miss it? Did Trump confront Putin and demand he leave Crimea? Two years and nothing....
