What’s most important is that the data supports the president and His image.

U.S. coronavirus data is funneled away from CDC,

...The CDC director said Wednesday that he's fine with the change

...Michael Caputo, an HHS spokesman, said the CDC has been seeing a lag of a week or more in data coming from hospitals and that only 85% of hospitals have been participating. The change is meant to result in faster and more complete reporting, he said.

This might be the way to get quicker, and more accurate, results. The current system seems to be a bit of a mess, and there is a lot of confusion.

Hospital data related to the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. will now be collected by a private technology firm

Trump etal are turning data collection over to a private surveillance capitalism firm that has been handed a contract they didn't even have to bid on. Curious how those claiming they believe in something I've heard them call 'free market capitalism' view this. Crony capitalism? Corporatocracy? National socialism?

The new system was set up by TeleTracking, a private company based in Pennsylvania, which was awarded the $10 million contract in a non-competitive bid in April.

US$10,000,000 is a puny amount. It's hard to believe they'll do much more than shine some data to make Trump look less inept - to his followers.

Well, you have to keep this data away from people who actually know stuff or you can't give it a favorable political spin.

lol Why worry? Trump is very, very transparent. Clearly we can see from his tax returns. Why would the Trump administration want to pad the numbers? I can't understand. :D

From the guy that told you the virus was "contained", that it was just "one person from China", that it was a "hoax", that "injecting disinfectant" was a cure, and that our "children are dying because they can't do what they are doing".....now wants to censor medical data from the one agency who's reason for existence is to fight pandemics...

What could go wrong with that??????

I'm pretty certain this is illegal. The US has some little known laws about which parts of govt control which data. For example, .45 broke US law when he modified a weather forcast produced by NWS. That was against US law. A lawsuit will happen quickly and both the CDC and that other 45-thumb department will get the same data, but the CDC creation law probably mandates that hospitals report directly to the CDC.

Tomorrow it will come out which law is being violated.

I'm getting trauma trying to understand what you're saying...

"They're dying because they can't do what they're doing"......

That's like saying, "They're dying because they aren't breathing, because they are inhaling and exhaling...

Wow, the dementia just keeps getting deeper and deeper...
