I imagine Mr Trump will be hitting the golf course this weekend - not a worry in the world....

A fast-rising rising tide of new coronavirus cases is flooding emergency rooms in parts of the United States,

But Trump/barr/McConnell etal could/couldn't care less. They've got the best healthcare possible and the financial resources to cover possible losses. Unlike the majority of the general population.

It's getting harder to believe the 'elite' in charge are NOT eugenicists turning their backs and ignoring that the pandemic is hitting hardest the 'others', including the poor and people of color.

We now have confirmation from WH sources that Trump has other priorities (how to square the circle of his re-election), as well as from his thumbs up sign sitting behind the Resolute desk in the Oval Office grinning over an array of Goya products (for his Hispanic constituency). The subliminal message of "Let them eat beans" is no way to show leadership in a national crisis. The federal government is MIA as ICU beds run out and the country teeters at the brink.

But it’s nothing to worry about, right?

Fauci holds up New York as model for fighting coronavirus — 'They did it correctly'

That guy is a political, partisan hack.

More than 400,000 New Yorkers have been infected by the virus since the pandemic began and at least 32,463 people have died in the state.

More examples of Red State Governors, showing their fealty to Trump, opening up much too early causing this huge spike in infections and deaths....

And give a significant portion of the blame to Trump too - with his tweets that wearing a mask is "Anti-American"...

But Trump/barr/McConnell etal could/couldn't care less.

He cares about his own re-election. Of course he does not care about the people dying, other than in the context of his own approval ratings - he is a sociopath.

Within the US we have been at war with the virus since Feb - and the numbers clearly show we are losing...

We are losing the war because of an utter failure of leadership - "the virus is contained", "it's one person from China", "it's a hoax", "it will just disappear"...

It's a failure of leadership on a massive, historic scale. If Trump were a wartime General, he would have been fired months ago...

That firing will now come on Nov 3rd...sadly after the deaths of 200K Americans...

This unfortunate person followed the advice of our President, and the far-right media hate machine..

*An Ohio man who died due to complications from COVID-19 has drawn criticism for his staunch refusal to wear a mask earlier in the pandemic. Richard Rose III, an Army veteran who spent nine years in the United States Army according to his obituary, died on July 4. He was 37. Rose’s death gained notoriety on social media after expressing that he was “not buying a (expletive) mask” less than three months before his death. “I’ve made it this far by not buying into that damn hype,” he said in a post published April 28.*

How many more of these poor souls are buried or in the ICU...along with others they may have infected...

It's worse than it was before and it's about to get worse. Poor leadership, no planning, no direction, like a big dumb patient stumbling around blindly.

"I want people to have a certain freedom," Trump said

Me, too. I want the freedom to see tomorrow.

Well, some good news finally.

Where are the Fed response teams helping out?

Maybe reassigned to protect confederate monuments?

Don't panic.  It is going to "magically disappear" anytime now.  Just like 140,000+ American lives have.  But had it not been for the wisdom and foresight of the presidential golfer, it could have been a lot worse.

Or so they say.

The world's leading country still struggling to deal with it

Hey Zichi, I am normally on the same wavelength as you with your comments.  But is the USA really any longer considered the "worlds leading country"?  I think not.  Who in this time would look to America for leadership?

The painfull legacy of the mismanagement of this pandemic will still be felt long after the idiot Trump is gone. I truly feel for America. I only hope that this will serve as a lesson to who they choose as a leader in the future.
