Good for Canada, and I am not surprised that Trump and his cabal have no interest in human rights. I hope that other EU countries will support Canada and put pressure on Saudi Arabia.

MarkX: Pressure? They have the right stuff that makes them our friend, whatever they do.

In a leadership vacuum, others step in.

The US has to step up to the plate on this!

Saudi Arabia is a state still stuck in the 10th century.

And

”Saudi Arabia has also ordered roughly 15,000 Saudis studying in Canada to leave.”

That says it all doesn’t it.....

The Saudis just posted a photo which threatened Canada with a 9/11 style attack on Toronto.

But yeah, Trump has nothing to say about that because Trudeau is better looking than he is, or whatever random thing the calcified rocks in his head are telling him today.

Trudeau sounds like a child. He opens his big mouth then screams for mommy when he gets into trouble.

They kill Yemenis and gays but liberals give them a free pass.

Literally this article is about a liberal taking on the Saudis while Trump gives them a free pass.

Is it opposites day in Trumpistan or something?

Canada needs put on its big boy pants and resolve its issues with the Saudis on their own.

Said no one ever...

The Saudis became enraged after Canada correctly spoke up for an unfairly imprisoned female rights activist. The heavy handed response shows this new prince to be the same repressive ruler as before, despite the PR eyewash.

Jared Kushner has spent significant time with this guy to supposedly improve Middle East alliances. Then this happens. If you don’t think that the Saudi king gave Jared a heads up this was coming — and that Trump shrugged it off as part of his own feud with America’s allies — you’re ignoring the inexorable ripple effect of Trump’s endorsement of repressive regimes at the expense of our traditional allies. Allies like Canada with whom Trump is feuding about tariffs are now disfavored. The Saudis know this and figure they can pile on too.

Other countries are probably not going to back Canada on this. They clearly crossed the line of diplomatic propriety in their tweet by calling for the release of specific named individuals who are still being processed through the Saudi justice system. This has never been considered acceptable in international relations. They could have just made a generic statement urging Saudi Arabia to make allowances for all political decenters.

Put the shoe on the other foot and imagine if the Saudi ambassador sent a tweet demanding the immediate release of a specific named individual arrested in Canada for something which is clearly illegal in Canada but not under sharia law in Saudi Arabia. It would rightly be considered outrageous and unacceptable diplomatic conduct.

Violating the laws of another country is never good.

Expecting a different culture to behave the same as your will never turn out well.

Saudi Arabia has also ordered roughly 15,000 Saudis studying in Canada to leave.

Surely a good thing for Canada. Let's hope they all end up in the U.S. No travel bans on Saudis remember, Trump loves that regime.

The US has to step up to the plate on this!

The US isn’t the worlds policeman. The same people complaining that the US isn’t sticking its nose in other nations business today are the same ones who attacked America for getting involved in the affairs of other countries yesterday. Put on your big boy pants Trudeau and settle your own problems.

Canada says it does not know what will happen to a $13 billion defense contract to sell Canadian-made General Dynamics Corp armored vehicles to Saudi Arabia.

European traders said the main Saudi wheat-buying agency had told grains exporters it will no longer accept Canadian-origin wheat and barley.

Saudi Arabia has also ordered roughly 15,000 Saudis studying in Canada to leave.

Now poor Justin Trudeau is worrying about trade with Saudi. Justin Trudeau should know about whom he was dealing. He was dealing with the wealthy Middle East Islamic Kingdom, where no human rights and the daily life of peoples are controlled by Islamic Sharia Law. The Middle East Governments will not listen to Justin Trudeau's lecture and will not tolerate interfering with their Islamic Sharia Law.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein should pressure on his native Middle East Countries to reform freedom of free speech and Human Rights. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is failing to address the Muslim Countries oppressing on Human Rights, Freedom of Speech and Women Rights. Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein doesn't bother to tell Muslim Governments to reform Human Rights and free all political prisoners from jails.

Why do we have such as a horrible person as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights who support Muslim Sharia Law, which oppress Women Rights and Human Rights of ordinary peoples in Islamic Countries?

Good on Canada for saying like it is with Saudi Arabia.

There's a true leader with strength, unlike the blustering whiny baby to the south.

And the same people claiming isn't the world's policeman now, are those who advocated for America going out and interfering in the affairs of other countries yesterday.

So you agree with America’s decision to keep out of the affairs of other countries. That’s common ground - Trump appreciates your support.

There's a true leader with strength

There's a true leader with strength who is powerful enough to sign off on the sale of "Jeeps'"(Trudeau) in a "$15 billion deal to provide Saudi Arabia with more than 900 'Light Armored Vehicles', 40% of which are actually a Heavy Assault type.

I'm sure the Yemens feel the same as you.

Looking for a word for Trudeau. It starts with an H.

How Saudi Arabia (mis)treats its own people is none of Canada's business. Let them sort out their own affairs by themselves.
