Its different from cradle to grave with entitlements that never end

I agree. Using money on military spending is different from providing our citizens with dignity and security throughout their lives. It's worse. We already have the biggest military. It doesn't need more money. Our poorest do.

Debt is debt.

But entitlements can’t protect the nation, a military can, a stronger one even better and more lethal.

Is that argument dead and buried or will it be reanimated if Trump loses in November?

If Biden lose which is more likely, it’ll be dead, buried for sure.

When you go deeper into debt with military spending, doesn’t that still saddle the young with the debt and risk bankrupting the country?

Its different from cradle to grave with entitlements that never end especially when it comes to footing the bills for illegals.

Debt is debt. I remember you and others were talking about debt saddling the young and bankrupting the country.

Is that argument dead and buried or will it be reanimated if Trump loses in November?

So you want to abolish income taxes

That would be a start.

As I predicted. Your comments went right over his head.

You predicted wrong....again.

Stagnating wages for working people have seen people unable to live a decent life despite putting in more hours than before. The ‘layabout’ narrative has long been discredited.

Ok, you think that in the US in our country we should raise taxes and that’s the way.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Not just liberals. Bush 2 and Trump went nuts with the credit card.

Yes, I do like a modern and beefed up-to-date military

I remember when Obama was in power there was a mass outbreak of fiscal conservatism among conservatives with people warning about saddling the young with debt and bankrupting the country.

When you go deeper into debt with military spending, doesn’t that still saddle the young with the debt and risk bankrupting the country?

In other words you want to penalize successful people who built their wealth by confiscating their "excess money and wealth" through confiscatory taxation and distribute it to people who through lack of discipline, initiative and ambition, don't want to work or feel entitled to the "excessive money and wealth."

Plasticmonkey: t's pretty odd that the GOP says it wants to reward hard work but continues to tax income at a higher rate than long term capital gains.

Bass4fubk: And still not one liberal can show me poor people providing jobs to people that need them, punish the job creators, sounds right to me

You need to tax people who have "excess money and wealth".

How do you judge "excess money and wealth"?

In other words you want to penalize successful people who built their wealth by confiscating their "excess money and wealth" through confiscatory taxation and distribute it to people who through lack of discipline, initiative and ambition, don't want to work or feel entitled to the "excessive money and wealth."

It's always amusing to see the socialists/left-wing/liberals advocate taxing the so-called "super" rich.....until THEY themselves become super rich through inheritance or other means. Then they howl in indignation when the very same people tries to TAKE THEIR MONEY AWAY.

On the other hand, when the socialists/left-wing/liberals fail to become wealthy, they delight in clipping wings because they themselves can't fly.

I made it through hard work and effort

Uh-huh.

who gives anyone the right to determine how much I can earn or keep?

So you want to abolish income taxes.

The super rich are so very rich in America now and own and control so very much, that if we took all their money for this program today they would be rich again tomorrow because the money just goes right back to them.

I’m already in a higher tax bracket, so what you’re saying is, you have to right to take as much money as you want even though I’m paying more than my fair share (whatever that means) I can just make more, who gives anyone the right to determine how much I can earn or keep? I should be allowed to whatever I want to do with my money since I made it through hard work and effort and The only thing that it will do in the future if Democrats gain power is for people like us to move the money or put it where the Democrats can’t get it. Seems to be the best solution.

Why do liberals think we have an inexhaustible supply of money?

Not just liberals. Bush 2 and Trump went nuts with the credit card.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Answer: you tax people who have jobs. That's how it works.

But not into oblivion, especially small businesses.

They could also increase taxes on people who don't work but get rich on their investments and massive inheritances.

In other words, big government saying I can’t do with the money I earned or passed down or inherited the way I please. In that case, how about cutting excessive entitlements and entitlements for illegals that would be a better start because they’re not citizens to begin with.

It's pretty odd that the GOP says it wants to reward hard work but continues to tax income at a higher rate than long term capital gains.

And still not one liberal can show me poor people providing jobs to people that need them, punish the job creators, sounds right to me.

Maybe not steal it, but we can make him pay his fair share.

Like how much? If you took all of his monthly salary and bonuses it still wouldn’t create The socialist imaginary prosperity Democrats keep telling themselves. They’ve been peddling that same garbage to almost every black community and hows that working for them? In all honesty?

I don't feel sorry for the guy, do you?

Absolutely not, but I don’t have a problem with him making billions, I have a problem how he’s trying to use it to influence the election

Answer: you tax people who have jobs. That's how it works.

I think you were bamboozled by the use of the word "jobs" in the question. You need to tax people who have "excess money and wealth". Its hard to believe for many people, but there was a time when basic income was not taxed at all in the United States. Taxing the working poor is basically feudalism 101. The country was literally founded on throwing off the yoke of monarchy, yet here we are with a virtual, unnamed monarchy taxing the working poor and the money hardly goes to the benefit of the working poor.

The super rich are so very rich in America now and own and control so very much, that if we took all their money for this program today they would be rich again tomorrow because the money just goes right back to them.

And poor people pay sales, GST , VAT whatever tax.

all your money goes to the democracy elected two party system.

Plasticmonkey:. t's pretty odd that the GOP says it wants to reward hard work but continues to tax income at a higher rate than long term capital gains.

That will be lost on someone like bass.

First question has to be: who is gonna pay for this huge lardy boondoggle? If that question can't be answered, the package needs to be eliminated. Otherwise, just be honest and say that it will be dropped on future generations to pay for.

The best stimulus possible is letting people get on with their lives if they so choose. Let them isolate if they so choose. But paying people to be idle is no solution. Unfortunately, the Democrats don't seem to realize that there is more value to work than just the money. There are social and psychological benefits as well. just sitting at home and cashing a cheque from Uncle Sugar is no way to live.

We have medicine that helps though you never hear about it because Trump is positive about it, HCQ...

And don't forget about the bleach and strong light remedies also proposed by Trump.

Very true but I hear Dr Immanuel, you know that doctor that Trump thinks so highly of, said that Alien DNA infused HCQ really knocks out that virus quick...

Too bad it didn't work for Herman Cain...

More taxation and how will they do that when people don’t have jobs?

Should we just steal Bezos’s money?

Maybe not steal it, but we can make him pay his fair share. I don't feel sorry for the guy, do you?

I am used to watching the Republican controlled Senate do nothing during a Democratic presidency, but I thought they would try to make the Republican president look good.

Ok, so what else can they do? How long do you think you can write a check for this? Why do liberals think we have an inexhaustible supply of money? Should we just steal Bezos’s money?

40% of renters predicted to become homeless during a pandemic, why hurry?

The 'bigger package' he wants most likely is providing even more money for his fellow .01%, expecting them to kick back more to Trump's re-election campaign.

Question, how long do you think you can write a stimulus for people without people working, do liberals ever think about that? I generally curious.

Mnuchin is a billionaire. Prior to working for Wall Street he spent 25 years at Rothschild, Inc. He understands zip about the lives of the majority of Americans.

Apparently liberals don’t either since most of their cites have the highest poverty rate in blue wealthy States, where is all that money going?

The 'elite' Republicans must know if they don't provide some relief for those suffering from the Trump economy, Trump and his R's are at risk come election time.

If that happens and the Dems are in power, how will they solve the problem? Income redistribution? More taxation and how will they do that when people don’t have jobs?

Trump and his R's must know most in the general population are blaming those in charge of the economy, i.e. Trump, for its failures.

Hmmmm, not so sure about that one.

We have the Wicked Witch of the West to thank for this.

With all this money being printed out of thin air here soon we will be richer then Zimbabwe.

The lizard Republicans think that tax money is their money.

You could say that about the Democrats.

We hope for a vaccine and medicine for a cure . . .

And The lizard Republicans think that tax money is their money. It. is. not.

It is the money of the residents and taxpayers.

Trump admittedly doesn't pay taxes, so he has no right to have any voice in the process.

Again, it is taxpayer money. Stop denying taxpayers from using some of their money.

Cutting the unemployment benefits now will only worsen the economic disaster. The unemployment money goes right back into the economy. A child understands that, but the Republicans and the administration don't. They want to punish the people who don't jobs to go back to.

It's pure evil.

“We’re open to a bigger package if we can reach an agreement,” Mnuchin said.

The 'bigger package' he wants most likely is providing even more money for his fellow .01%, expecting them to kick back more to Trump's re-election campaign.

Mnuchin is a billionaire. Prior to working for Wall Street he spent 25 years at Rothschild, Inc. He understands zip about the lives of the majority of Americans.

But Mnuchin/Trump/barr/McConnell must realize that dozens of millions of Americans are out of work with no job prospects. Millions are losing their homes and cars.

The 'elite' Republicans must know if they don't provide some relief for those suffering from the Trump economy, Trump and his R's are at risk come election time.

Trump and his R's must know most in the general population are blaming those in charge of the economy, i.e. Trump, for its failures.
