Trump's responsible for so many firsts - the latest being first President completely discredited before he even takes the oath.

This is what happens when you vote for someone who will literally say anything to get elected - reality comes back to bite.

It's just so easy to criticize, easy to say things that people wants to hear. Just look at the Phils Duterte! Lots of what people term as flip flops!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@ SenseNotSoCommon Haven't you heard the "Ringmaster" lost, she never made it to the ring she stayed in her hotel and cried her lying azz off in disbelief and left her followers wondering!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Just like Israel

I have never heard of a wall being build along the middle of a river. Also, FizzBit your people will have to be kicked off your land again as the American Indian gets their land desecrated again. I do understand that Trump voters are afraid of Mexican ISIS terrorists.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump will build that wall, let it be made of concrete or made of hate, and one of the main advantage of machines guns set on surveillance towers is that they can rotate 180 degrees and point to the other side...

Just like Israel, you know, our allies, but they get a pass. Too funny

Trump isn't even a fully inaugurated president yet.

I can't wait for Trump's 50 foot fully electrified and ground sensor concrete wall (I didn't know concrete conducts electricity).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And don't try to say you wouldn't have been all over Obama - you've been all over him as much as anyone ever.

And rightfully so.

You gave zero leeway to him, and yet Trump can do no wrong in your books.

That's just not true, Obama was for one thing: Obama only and trying to turn the center right country into a center left country and last week, he got a dose of a serious wake up reality. All the liberals did and the DNP, They have absolutely nothing. Yeah, the Repubs did learn from the last election and the Dems didn't and now we have Trump. Again, Trump isn't even a fully inaugurated president yet. Once he gets to that point, I will judge him accordingly. If Trump refuses to work with the Democrats and blocks religious freedom and ignores the complaints and frustrations of the right.

The closest we get from you is 'he can say something on the odd side'.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

While we now research the CLINTONS association with Spirit Cooking and Pedophile Island, the left thinks it's embarrassing that Melania is pretty. We all know what happened at Woodstock and those weren't conservatives.

"See how low the image of Trumpers' America has sunk. Theyve now got a flame-warring Twitter twit as POTUS and a playboy spread First Lady."

Really classy, man. Real classy.

I think his point was that they aren't real classy at all.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Trump understands the politically correct nonsense which government workers and others are so tired of. Advocates have pushed for many folks like the visa overstayers and others who are not legally in the US. That should be against the law. No one forced those people to come here. Government workers have plenty of real Americans to take care of. And those who were not invited are taking up more and more resources. That is why the Border Patrol and Homeland Security rightfully support Trump.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

No one is saying that.

I just did.

And don't try to say you wouldn't have been all over Obama - you've been all over him as much as anyone ever.

You gave zero leeway to him, and yet Trump can do no wrong in your books. The closest we get from you is 'he can say something on the odd side'.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

But if it had been Obama who said one thing then did something lesser, the right would have been all over him like jackals on a corpse. Suddenly when it's their anointed one, he can do no wrong.

No one is saying that. As much as I like Trump, I'm well aware, he can say something on the odd side. But he's learning, that's a very good first step.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Yes, he's our anointed one. It's OUR TURN.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Think about it if he just canceled it outright. Do you know the implications of that?

You mean like he claimed he would do on 'day one'?

Of course this is a good thing - it's nice to see that he's not going to do the extremist actions he claimed he would during his campaign.

But if it had been Obama who said one thing then did something lesser, the right would have been all over him like jackals on a corpse. Suddenly when it's their anointed one, he can do no wrong.

Putin is loving it (though he's going to find a way to still hate America, because he needs an external bogeyman), ISIS released a video about how happy they were, and China has just made it very clear that they will do plenty of damage to the US economy in the event Trump launches his ridiculous trade war.

It is your friends and allies that are doing most of the worrying.

Same scenario as in 1980.

When Reagan became president, the Russians in the beginning thought he was soft like Carter, boy were they ever wrong.

Hah, I just saw on a British forum: "At least the world doesn't think we're the stupidest people on earth now".

I don't know how many times I have heard the Brits say that. They've been saying that since the Revolution. Yaaawn. Lol

I sincerely hope they don't "fix" the problem by cancelling coverage for millions of sick Americans and calling it a day.

He said, he won't. He reassured, they will repeal it once they come up with a better alternative. Think about it if he just canceled it outright. Do you know the implications of that? The man is not stupid. He will get rid of the mandate for sure to allow competitive competition and No to single care.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Strangerland: Hah, I just saw on a British forum: "At least the world doesn't think we're the stupidest people on earth now".

Seen on a meme or twitter recently:

BRITAIN: Brexit is the stupidest, most self-destructive act a country could undertake.

USA: Hold my beer.

One thing agreed with Donald Trump about New York Times. Today The New York Times paper is not the same old "The Gray Lady". These days NYT doesn't report true story and the NYT journalists are writing and reporting fabricated story. NYT journalists have broken moral and ethical standard of journalism. You can read true current affair story reporting by the journalists who took news themselves on JT but on NYT, the journalists fabricating story from their office. Today NYT journalism standard was very low low standard.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Well, the naysayers are certainly out and ready to say, "nay", aren't they? None of them seems to have read all the facts on the Numbers, USA website or all the state's chapters of anti-illegal immigration organizations. The Democrats SAID they wanted to seal the border (Bill CLINTON in his inaugural speech in the 1990's and Hillary you can see on YOUTUBE VIDEOS criticizing illegals as recently and OPENLY as late as 2006, 2003). So, the Democrats had this problem. Their own party in Oregon apparently voted NO driver's licenses for illegals in the last two years as the vote there was 2 to 1 in favor of NO driver's licenses for illegals. And it is a Democrat state - and has been run by Democrats for some 20 years. So, Isn't this an open agreement (by Democrats) with Trump's agenda? Why, YES, it is!

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

In any case, it is Ryan and those in power that in reality did not support Trump, that is forcing the issue by watering down Trumps plans before Trump actually takes office and starts. They are trying to create a [path that Trump may be "forced" to follow, only because of party politics and demands made to say that they will support hos other plans only of he agrees to follow theirs.

That is politics as usual.

Hopefully Trump can make some changes to that routine pressuring from the parties in power to circumvent a worthwhile and meaningful plan or program which actually benefits the nation and not the interests of those in power.

The move appears to be to assure the politicians their own re-election by trying to satisfy their own agenda to please their own constituents.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"There could be some fencing." Or maybe just some shrubbery? NiH!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

So happy Trump won! Even Indians along the border fear the cartels who force them to drive them into Phoenix at gunpoint. Why do liberals think that is cute? And if they don't know it is due to their negligence of knowing all the facts. The facts have been around for a LONG time. The liberals assume they are the most informed. They are not. Or, they think of border people as collateral damage. Shame on them.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Already the party which benefited from Trump's presidency is trying to disarm and control his presidency.

A very bad start for the Republican party. It will definitely initiate a counter movement which can at the end break up the party.

Party politics rather than allowing leadership, is not what is needed in the USA at this time. The party elites still do not understand the will of the people.

Sad... but the time has come for the nation to NOT re-elect any of those in office today.

It is time to find NEW leaders for our country.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Trump supporters convinced themselves of a lot of things. And wonder why others call them deplorable. Depending on Trump's actual actions in the WH, the Trump supporters (and unfortunately the rest of us) are going to be dealing a lot with a worse situation.

Hey, maybe this might initiate the "big one" where the banks fail and the US dollar becomes useless. The rich will run away with their ill got gains and move out of the country and leave the rest of us folks scrounging around when the upside down economic pyramid collapses under it's own weight.

Then the US government will be for sale to the highest bidder, and China will step in and quite literally buy the country.

It's what both party elitists have been working towards for decades.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's a matter of who can lie best and most convincingly

...or in Trump's case, the loudest and most shamelessly.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

It's no surprise. Politicians are all liars. It's a matter of who can lie best and most convincingly.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The Left convinced themselves that Trump was going to wipe out every illegal immigrant in America...

Change that to:

Trump voters convinced themselves that Trump was going to wipe out every illegal immigrant in America...

Hah, I just saw on a British forum: "At least the world doesn't think we're the stupidest people on earth now".

4 ( +6 / -2 )

bass: Yeah, but the sad thing, it was anything BUT affordable, in fact I, that was another reason as to Why Hillary lost. When most Americans got their new revised plans for 2017 the new prices shot through the roof. That was the worst piece of **** legislation that was ever passed.

Well, the Republicans have the keys now. We've been waiting for their alternative for a long time. With the spotlight on them, they can't just talk around the issue anymore. I sincerely hope they don't "fix" the problem by cancelling coverage for millions of sick Americans and calling it a day.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump has no sympathy for illegal Mexican immigrants who have built the Trump Tower with lousy pay. Trump current wife posted playboy magazine before she had rights to work legally in States.

Difference between Mexicans and new First Lady is skin color. If she has brown skin as Mexicans, she may has already been deported. Double standard!!

Without those slave illegal immigrants, Trump construction projects will be life in the slow lane. No wonder KKK endorsed Trump as their favourite President.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I think our enemies need to worry

Putin is loving it (though he's going to find a way to still hate America, because he needs an external bogeyman), ISIS released a video about how happy they were, and China has just made it very clear that they will do plenty of damage to the US economy in the event Trump launches his ridiculous trade war.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

my, my. how the high and mighty do carry on. Didnt Obsma promise Guantanamo Detention camp closed fast? And here we are EIGHT YEARS later.... yeah but who opened Guantanamo in the first place! Its like a disease that was spread by one group, and then they point the finger at the other group becuase they cant find a cure. Lets not forget the last two wars were started by Republicans, I wonder if Trump can keep that record going or not!?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

In a perverse way, I'm looking forward to Trump-voters running smack into reality, and their dismantling of the ACA (remember, the first A stands for "affordable") is likely where this will start.

Yeah, but the sad thing, it was anything BUT affordable, in fact I, that was another reason as to Why Hillary lost. When most Americans got their new revised plans for 2017 the new prices shot through the roof. That was the worst piece of **** legislation that was ever passed.

I have many reasons to worry about a Trump presidency; the US and the world along with it are entering into a world of complete unknowns.

I think our enemies need to worry.

Even his supporters seem to have little sense of what he might actually do. (Build a wall, maybe a fence with some nice shubbery for the knights guarding it. Ni?)

Whatever works, I'm in.!

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

QED. He's got you there outrider. He never said it, you just made up and assigned it to him and then attacked him for it. Fallacy from start to finish, deserving to be laughed out of the house... and that is what really bothers me about this election - not that it had the result i didn't want it to (whatever that matters, as i'm not American), but rather, how that result was achieved through a modus operandi of misrepresentations and distortions of fact, making things up and presenting them as fact to play on confirmation bias, petty name-calling, bullying, and, in short, Trump BSing his way into the Whitehouse.

Bingo!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

...Obamacare would be affordable.

In a perverse way, I'm looking forward to Trump-voters running smack into reality, and their dismantling of the ACA (remember, the first A stands for "affordable") is likely where this will start.

It is just so predictable: Eliminating the mandate will lead to a huge exodus of healthier, younger people, and the edifice will collapse, leaving tens of millions previously insured then not. The "wall" and deportations and trade and all that rhetoric is easily shoved into the future (and, perhaps, eventually forgotten), but uprooting the ACA "root and branch" is not. Worse, this is a longstanding GOP promise, not some midnight Trump Tweet, so backing down seems impossible.

Turbulent times lie ahead, but the ACA will be reconstituted - one would hope with a single-payer option - once this fever has run its course.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Strangerland & outrider

it's ironic that you would prove my point that you are living in an absense-of-fact bubble, by claiming I said something I never said

It's what people do online, but it should never be so effective in an election; that it was is both depressing and disturbing. America's national discourse has been lowered to the gutter by this election and by this man and his supporters, and I really hope it can recover.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

There already is double sided fencing in many areas along the border that by the way has worked to great effect in slowing immigration.

http://content.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1814377_1723606,00.html

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

"But at least with hillarys annhilation in the election hopefully we'll hear less of the shrill hysterical tones of pocohantas warren."

Pocahontas Warren? What? Do you make whooping noises when you say that? Even Trump is leaving behind the stupidity he used to wind up boneheads at his rallies.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"Obama was a Great communicator, one of the best, since Clinton, but one of the worst leaders ever."

Wrong. Disapproval levels of outgoing postwar US presidents see the GOP crook Nixon and GOP warmonger George W Bush as the worst. That's why the GOP lock Bush's memory in the cellar. Obama is nowhere near those levels. He will have a lot to offer after leaving office.

Your fictional non-partisan historians claiming Bush was a roaring success can't help you here. The fact you had to invent them says a lot.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

But what if when he said his words he was just being sarcastic? Or just joking? Or was misunderstood?

You mean, like when Obama said, you can keep your doctor and that Obamacare would be affordable. Was that a joke as well?

Great leaders are great communicators. Trump is not a great communicator - in fact he's terrible.

Obama was a Great communicator, one of the best, since Clinton, but one of the worst leaders ever.

His high pitched voice is hard to listen to. He's got the vocabulary range of an elementary school student.

And the current president has an ego the size of the Titanic and thinks that everyone else that doesn't share his viewpoints is a low level idiot. Well, how'd that work out for him? Lol Even with all those smarts and being an adjunct professor, it still didn't save his legacy, imagine that.

It remains to be seen if he can be a leader.

He hasn't even started yet. After 100 days, then try to critique the man.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

@bass he'll keep his word.

But what if when he said his words he was just being sarcastic? Or just joking? Or was misunderstood?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I think you're wrong. But unlike Obama, he'll keep his word.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Bass,

she was a habitual liar, a sneek and a criminal

It doesn't matter how many times you repeat that she's a criminal when the FBI has clearly stated there is nothing there. Like i said, please stop banging on about her, it's boring. She's history.

Wakarimasen,

It was obvious he wasn't going to builds an ACTUAL wall

Then why did he say Mexico is going to be paying for it? Paying for what? A hot air blower?

and he will be going some to beat either Hilliary or Obama in the lying stakes

He's already thoroughly done so.

It is true that Obama administration kept almost none of its promises and had deported or turned away millions

Ok, so again, if Obama has deported and turned away millions, why all the wailing and gnashing about the need to deport and turn away millions?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Can I just ask if any Trump supporters here thought his plan to build a wall was just red meat to the people who make whooping sounds at rallies? Their "build the wall!" chants were as common as "lock her up!".

I could be wrong, but I just can't remember them posting anything to that effect.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

A crack in the Wall? It was obvious he wasn't going to builds an ACTUAL wall. and he will be going some to beat either Hilliary or Obama in the lying stakes. It is true that Obama administration kept almost none of its promises and had deported or turned away millions.

Judge Jeanine: This wasn't an election, it was a revolution

O'Brien from Orwell's 1984:

"One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship."

Now with The Party in power at all levels of government the rightists will have to take responsibility for a country that throughout the election they claimed was dystopian. Curious to see what they do.

When has the Republican Party ever been concerned with anything more than ensuring those with wealth were able to maintain their wealth?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Very judjmental and cowardly. Why don't you put yourself under public scrutiny and see what kind of muck rises to the surface eh?

Cowardly, ha ! Says the person who posts under an alias.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No one knows what Trump will do, not even Trump.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Well, she actually isn't, is she? What's your source, Breitbart? I'm going with what the FBI say. Suggest you stop banging on about Clinton; she's already history. Trump isn't going to lock her up, that was just more of his soundbite BS.

Uh-huh, so that's the reason why she's not president? If the woman weren't full of BS, she probably would have beaten Trump, but because she was a habitual liar, a sneek and a criminal...well, you know the rest.

It DOES mean not building a WALL, which is exactly what he promised, and literally what you and others believed and wanted. Or did you think the Mexican government was going to be forced to pay for metaphors?

Yeah, we know liberals are just itching to get on Trump for anything before he even left the starting gate. Smith, take a seat and relax, you're in the backseat now and watch how the man will beef up the border security. Whether it's a physical Wall, virtual, digital or whatever deterrence he will come up with, it won't be a rave come all free party anymore like with Obama.

Or in other words, Trump supporters just got there first taste of 'you got fooled dummies'.

I think you meant Hillary. LMAO!

By the way, what's she doing these days?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

"Cracks emerge in Trump's campaign promise on immigration"

Good grief... even if there are cracks, at least there will be some improvement in stopping illegal immigrants, whereas Hillary would just have everyone come on in.

To be fair, Fizz, America has neither ever experienced a president who relies so heavily on Twitter for communication nor a first lady who has graced the pages of Playboy. You can judge yourself whether all that is "muck" - for a large number of Americans, it's a feature.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The only thing he did not hedge on was the building of the wall.

...perhaps downgraded to fence. Or maybe - say - a hedge, or a lovely row of shrubbery!

The man has no idea what he's talking about, and because he doesn't, neither do any who attempt to interpret his constantly-shifting, Delphic remarks.

OutriderNOV. 14, 2016 - 01:42PM JST

mukashiyotta, there are indications that when all the numbers are added up trump will win the popular vote.

Where can will find such "indications"? All the sites say Clinton won popular votes, for example.

http://cookpolitical.com/story/10174

Clinton: 61,337,682

Trump: 60,582,159

SerranoNOV. 14, 2016 - 01:55PM JST

Yeah, well, like Outrider said, after all the absentee ballots are counted, and the voting machine votes that switched from Trump to Hillary are discounted, we may very well see that Trump won the popular vote.

Very unlikely.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/11/clintons-popular-vote-lead-will-grow-and-grow/507455/

“We probably have about 7 million votes left to count,” said David Wasserman, an editor at Cook Political Report who is tracking turnout. “A majority of them are on the coasts, in New York, California, and Washington. She should be able to win those votes, probably 2-1.” By mid-December, when the Electoral College officially casts its ballots, Wasserman estimates that Clinton could be ahead by 2 percentage points in the popular vote.

Reality is what is missing from the Trump supporters.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I guess you don't understand politics, you do what you can to gin up your bass, but there is no way that a candidate can deliver verbatim on every single promise in its exact form ..

And yet you still have Trumpians going on about Obama not getting Guantanamo closed.

oh yes. all the facts you gave us pre election re the inevitability of hillarys victory, yes. please more, more.

Heh, it's ironic that you would prove my point that you are living in an absense-of-fact bubble, by claiming I said something I never said.

My actual comments:

I don't have a thought on which one will win - too close to tell right now.

I have to say I hope Clinton will win. I have a faith in the American people that they are smart enough to see through Trump, and that they are non-bigoted enough to not choose a bigot like Trump. I have faith that for all their frustration with the system, they will be able to realize that the change they want won't come through either Trump or Clinton this time, and will work towards getting that change four years from now, rather than blowing up the system, the US, and the world, by voting Trump.

I have faith, but it's not absolute. These are the same people that voted Bush a second time, after the Iraq debacle.

No, probably just one Serrano saw on a lonely white man's YouTube posting.

Alphaape, this is the most interesting thing for me - the dems do a great propaganda job of calling non- dems intolerant, violent, etc etc but they prove time and time again that THEY themselves are the scary violence- prone ones. I think peopke are waking up to this fact now.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

I don't remember large scale riots in "red states" when Obama was elected

Not for Trump's lack of trying.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Ignorance from the bubble knows no bounds.

Interesting that the editor of the NYT has come out and said that they were showing a bias towards Trump during the process, and that he wants to take the paper back to reporting the news and not trying to set an agenda. Yet as others have said, elections are not over a week old and he is getting more negative press. By the way, why aren't the press really highlighting the riots in cities on his election?

What is silly about those is that in places like Portland and LA and Oakland, Hillary won the vote. So those rioters are causing traffic problems and destruction of property to people in areas who were "with her" during the election.

Even as people begin to trot out the "racist" themes about Trump, I don't remember large scale riots in "red states" when Obama was elected, twice. Sure there were some who didn't like him, some because of his color I will say. But they may have had protests, but not like we are seeing now. So much for the GOP being the party of bigotry and hatred and the DEMS being the one willing to "give peace a chance."

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Samwatters,

The claim that Obama has deported more people than any other president is only true when your factor people being turned away at the border are being counted as people being deported

Interesting. So the US is already turning millions of people away at the border? So why all the vicious criticism of Obama, and is it really a good idea to spend 10 billion dollars on a border wall? Or did Trump just say it because it sounded good to his base? And did they just lap it up because it sounded good? It's more than a little disturbing if the US election can be won by BS media soundbites with little basis in actual policy. I don't think Trump is the second coming of HH; but he's just given a 10/10 demonstration of how any future would-be HH should go about getting elected.

Outrider,

correct me if Im wrong, but trump never said he was against immigrants coming to the US from Mexico. What he was/is against is illegal immigrants. Sorry to burst the "progressives" bubble but he shares that sentiment with every other developed country in the world

No, you're not wrong. As you say, all countries wish to prevent illegal immigration. I very much doubt that a 10 billion dollar wall is the most cost-effective way to do it, but if he does go ahead and build it, fair enough. It's certainly not my money. The issue I have with Trump's campaigning on immigration was the racist rhetoric - rapists, murderers, etc. Not necessary at all, just ugly and hate-filled.

Serrano,

the voting machine votes that switched from Trump to Hillary are discounted, we may very well see that Trump won the popular vote. But even if it's determined that Hillary actually got more popular votes, if you discount that anamoly state of California, which wants to secede anyway, lol, Trump won the rest of the country including Hillary's beloved New York

Voting machines that switched? California a secessionist anomaly? Trump won New York? What nonsense is this? That's all straight out of a parallel dimension. Presumably the one described by Breitbart?

correct me if Im wrong, but trump never said he was against immigrants coming to the US from Mexico. What he was/is against is illegal immigrants. Sorry to burst the "progressives" bubble but he shares that sentiment with every other developed country in the world. It will also save lives because if there is no expectation of successfully illegally crossing the border a hell of a lot of mexicans will not die in the desert in their quest to smuggle themselves into the US. Whether its with a physical wall or a metaphorical one (vastly increased border security, etc). I cannot imagine why intelligent people would be against it.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

With these flip-flops occurring already, I wouldn't be surprised if, 'pumping more sludge into the swamp' , were next on the agenda.

It's ok, because he's not inaugurated yet, doesn't have his cabinet yet, so it's all good and once he is IN THE WHITE HOUSE as the ACTING PRESIDENT and AFTER the first 100 days things don't go the way you libs don't like, please, feel free to criticize the man, until then, cool it. Another reason why liberals lost the election is because when things don't go their way as fast as you can utter the words, you are a flip flopper.

Just looking forward to him ripping Obama's executive orders on the first 100 days!!!! Kudos!

@CrazyJoe. The claim that Obama has deported more people than any other president is only true when your factor people being turned away at the border are being counted as people being deported.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

So here we are in the Twilight Zone. We have a Pres elect who said a whole bunch of promises he did not believe, and his voters did not believe, and everyone just kinds of winks and nudges each other. And then he gets elected and says, "No. I'm serious!" and some people become very afraid while others just wink and nudge some more. I guess he appeared on 60 minutes and gave figures of a few hundred thousand criminal immigrants, but then was quick to toss on estimates pulled out of thin air of 3 million, or maybe one or two. He is not sure.

Come on. This is what happens where you vote in people who have no grasp of the facts, access to the facts, or ways of gathering facts. And the number is pretty necessary because now Trump will have to create a bureaucracy to deal with all those millions of immigrants... or is it a few hundred thousand? I smell another TSA coming to life right before our eyes.

Alternatively, NOTHING will happen. Who knows with this guy? We can't discount the fact that even with a GOP congress and senate and presidency, there are too few people among them who can get things done. And they will be held back by those who can't. It is not like Donald Trump can just fire a Senator pour encourager les autres.

Didn't Japan have a political party come into power just a few years ago and then proceed to do absolutely nothing for a few years? Day after day was talk of doing this or that, and nothing ever came of it. 100 days? Millions of people? Think about the budget necessary to displace and deport millions of people. You can't even get a plan in 100 days, let alone a budget, employees, etc. And then think about what kind of chunk that is going to take out of the economy to just suddenly lose a million producers and a million consumers and a million taxpayers. And if Trump manages to get it done, and do it right, how is he going to have time for anything else?

Oh. It will be chaos. Count on that. But it will distract people while he loots the nation.

Let's see... if Trump follows his campaign promises, he is wrong. If he changes, he is wrong.

Hey progressives! Isn't it fun to be in opposition for a change?

That means his promise is wrong in the first place.

CrazyJoeNOV. 14, 2016 - 08:15AM JST

So Trump isn't doing anything new, don't get excited, quite the contrary, he's already softening his campaign promise to deport all 12 million illegals.

In other words, he does not live up to his words.

The question is what made him change his mind.

1 He did not mean to keep his words from the beginning and just wanted to fool everybody.

2 The protest "He's not my president" made him change his mind.

3 He knew his supporters forget his words in less than 3 days and they do not care about actual policies.

4 All of above

5 None of above

4 ( +7 / -3 )

With these flip-flops occurring already, I wouldn't be surprised if, 'pumping more sludge into the swamp' , were next on the agenda.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The speed at which Trump is 'pivoting' back to the GOP almost makes it feel like all the tension between him and people like Ryan was all a preplanned farce. I haven't heard the 'drain the swamp' rallying cry since we won.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I find it interesting that when he proposes compromises, the left jumps up and down and says he is breaking campaign promises. He has stated just today that the 3-4 million criminal illegal aliens, who are sitting in jails or awaiting court dates would be the first to go. Never said anything about mass rounding up of persons to be deported, but more along the lines of making it harder to be in the country illegally by following the existing rules on the books like not being eligible for welfare, and other benefits and cracking down on employees who hire them.

But people get up in a tizzy on how he supposedly is going to separate families. So tell me, when people from Central America send children alone to the US border over the past couple of years to get the proposed amnesty, wouldn't that be a tragedy? Yet, we are told that if we do the exact same thing send them back with their parents we are the bad guys. Also, not to be too flippant, but if someone can make it from Central America to the USA border broke, no money but with the clothes on their back, and wind up getting a job in the USA sometimes not knowing the language, I am pretty sure that if they had to go back to their home countries, they would be able to make it on their own by self deporting.

I had to laugh at these people on other forums bragging about what Trump would do in the first 100 days.

Hell, it's not even been a week since the election, and already Trump has been back tracking like there's no tomorrow.

No crackdown on Muslim immigrants (oh so sneakily removed from Trump's website). No mass deportation of illegals. The wall is now a fence, and probably even won't be built at all for that matter.

Are people that dumb?

SuperLib: Trump is using his Twitter feed to promote a false narrative about the New York Times losing subscribers. He is the president elect now and shouldn't be doing that.

I don't know what Trump put on twitter, but as the NY Post is reporting that the NY Times itself is saying it is losing subscribers, why are you saying 'false narrative', without evidence? Did someone tell you it's false?

New York Times: We blew it on Trump - November 11, 2016

... I’ve gotten letters from people who say they cancelled their Times subscriptions and, to judge from a cryptic line in a Thursday article, the problem is more than anecdotal. Citing reader anger over election coverage, Rutenberg wrote that, “Most ominously, it came in the form of canceled subscriptions.” ...

Here he means NY Times columnist Jim Rutenberg.

If you check the polling data, you will see that this "only rednecks voted for Trump" meme is simply not accurate. The difference is actually very small. Among non college grads, Trump got 51%, Clinton 45% Among college grads, Trump got 45% and Clinton got 49%. If you check by income, Trump support increased as income rose. Clinton won the less than $50,000 per year, Trump those over $50,000.

Apparently his wife was too busy planning an overhaul of the health insurance system to notice that. Trump addressed it. Even journalists who so vehemently backed Hillary acknowledge that the economy was THE issue and she chose not to address it in favor of character issues. white-trash racists

"So how do you explain-away Trump’s election if you think you are smart and you think you are well-informed and you think Trump is OBVIOUSLY a monster?

You solve for that incongruity by hallucinating – literally – that Trump supporters KNOW Trump is a monster and they PREFER the monster. In this hallucination, the KKK is not a nutty fringe group but rather a symbol of how all Trump supporters must feel. (They don’t. Not even close.)

In a rational world it would be obvious that Trump supporters include lots of brilliant and well-informed people. That fact – as obvious as it would seem – is invisible to the folks who can’t even imagine a world in which their powers of perception could be so wrong. To reconcile their world, they have to imagine all Trump supporters as defective in some moral or cognitive way, or both."

Stop hallucinating Smith

Hopefully he proves us wrong on how bad a president we thought he was going to be. Wouldn't that be ironic if he turned out to be more a president that the left likes than the right!

Or even better, he turns out to be a president that both parties like.

He could be the first president ever to run on the Republican ticket for his first term, then the Democratic ticket for his second.

As long as he revokes all of Obama's executive orders, I'm pretty much open for anything else, let's talk.

Hahaha... you're going to have to, given that Trump is already going back on all his promises.

Sorry, the left is still trying and still has not learned anything. First of all, not building a wall, DOESN'T mean, they won't secure the border. Understand this, it will be a priority. I don't think a lot of people including myself thought there might be a giant physical wall, but you can put more agents, put high tech surveillance underground, over ground, various sensors, put the National Guard, there are a lot of things you do including building a wall to make an impregnable border.

The wall was one of this biggest, and was what got a lot of the white-trash racists on his ticket to begin with.

As well as the opposition to follow the rule of law gave rise to the racist group such as BLM and since their formation, the murder of police officers has spiked, so whats your point? Also, When Obama became president, all the Muslims and even the Nation of Islam supported Obama, you can't get more radical than that. Farrakhan supported Obama, so what are we to take from that. I didn't. As much as I didn't like Obama, I never connected the two and the idiot racists that went on air trying to make the connection were dismissed as loons. But when morons like Duke or the Klan say they support Trump, now all of a sudden, he's connected to these nut jobs? Seriously, you guys need to go on a vacation, relax, calm down and think deeply about making such an argument, the people have seen right through that mess and ploy from the left and it didn't work, it sank like the Titanic and now what do the Dems have? Absolutely nothing. The country and the president tried to be a Champion for the left like Reagan was for the right, but the people rejected it. I'm sorry, the majority of Middle America, I'm not talking about the indoctrinated college kids that are pushed to take a progressive viewpoint.

Poof! That went quickly. Next will be Obamacare -- won't repeal that as he had promised.

He will, just heard it a few minutes ago, he'll keep maybe 2 parts of it and everything else will be thrown in the trash and redrawn.

He won't throw out or keep out Muslims, either.

No, but say goodbye to the sanctuary cities.

But we all know that despite demanding it, you'll praise him for doing a 180 and keeping Obama's executive orders later, because that's how vapid and superficial Trump fans are.

That border can't be just a wall, or a fence, or chicken wire. It has to be something in the realm of the DMZ between the Koreas, with barbed wire, electric fencing, land mines, border guards, pit bulls, and seismic sensors to detect tunneling. Gonna be expensive, and require lots of staffing, but in a few years, that border is gonna look real "pretty."

How quickly do people forget that Obama has deported more people than any other president in history. Between 2009 and 2015 his administration has removed more than 2.5 million people through immigration orders, which doesn’t include the number of people who "self-deported" or were turned away and/or returned to their home country at the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. These people were convicted criminals in prisons. So Trump isn't doing anything new, don't get excited, quite the contrary, he's already softening his campaign promise to deport all 12 million illegals.
