the world could do with a little more terror these days, like it used to be in the bush era. the world was a much better place back then. let's create more terror and fear in people.

truth is, muslims in 'free' countries, are in more danger in those 'democratic' countries on a daily basis than any other religious groups are in those same countries, especially in the US. stop the anti muslim hatred. not every muslim is a terrorist as the media, and democratic western countries' governments would like you to believe.

You say this, but have no stats to back it up. FBI figures for 'hate crimes' show Jews to be far, far more likely to be victims.

Well, if the next raids will be Mumbai-style attacks in rubber boats as the world's press are reporting about the above news, we can surely rule out Edinburgh. The terrorist fighters would be all puffed out by the time they got to the town. Look for cities with easy water access!

Seeing as this came from the same intelligence sources who told us of yellow cake and wmd a while ago, I would wonder why this is being released now. I don't doubt that Lashkar-e-Taiba and their pals do indeed think up plots, but presumably they are doing this pretty much all the time. In the absence of arrests or discoveries of materials, it looks like the intelligence agencies are justifying the latest, and presumably ongoing, drone attacks on Pakistan - a country which the US and Nato are not at war with. Yet.

More alarm raising to increase budgets, and keep joe public under the thumb, and a bonus on the way to defence and security companies...

Since the Sept 11 terror attacks in the United States nine years ago, the terror group has moved outside of Afghanistan and Pakistan to other countries such as Somalia and Yemen.

These terror groups always seem to go where the US (and friends) wants to go.

After reading reports of the plot I am somewhat confused.

Apparently it was spilled by a german muslim that got transferred to the USA. Who promptly foiled the plans by bombing Afghanistan and Pakistani targets.

Now call me naive but I doubt that the people involved in the attacks would be shipped in from the ME, they would rather use sleeper cels that are already in existance.

Last I checked sleeper cels are independant of the command structure once the orders are given.

Olympic park bombing, oklahoma city, the unibomber, all muslims? Nope.

"Terrorists" ... or "annoyances" ? Your chances of dying in a tour bus crash are VASTLY greater than becoming a random victim of these extremists in europe. Refuse to be "terrorized" ... there is no cause, and it will lead you to endorse 'anti-terrorism' laws that will do far more damage to your civil rights than all the extremists combined could ever hope to do.

Muslims are not the ones attacking, they just get blamed for it. Occasionally you might get some CIA/Mossad/MI6 able to convinced some mentally challenged Muslim to carry out something out, but the people behind all these attacks are not Muslims.

My reply above should have been: I think that has much to do with what they consider a hate crime or how they classify crimes as hate crimes.

sabiwabi, perhaps they are not Muslims by your standards, but by their own standards they are 100% convinced that they are not just Muslims, but the purest of the pure, the only true Muslims.

The UK and France have large Muslim populations and France has the largest Muslim population in all of Europe, so it is just simple math, France with the most Muslims, easiest country to get angry Muslims to call in prank calls for now and the UK is one of the USA staunchest allies in all of NATO and keeping in lock step with the USA in trying to take the war on terror to the enemy, so hence, you have millions of EU passport holding possible Muslim terrorists, right??
