If the clown has a weapon or is accosting people then it's time for the cops to get involved but sighting clowns?

I imagine this is some kind of political movement, suggesting that anyone with covered faces can appear scary or threatening and freak people out, even when they aren't at all harmful? Odd behaviour.

Good advertising for Stephen King for sure, and I'm sure this all started as wierd fun for someone, but the whole hysteria is a bit much. But if you want to see REALLY creepy clowns watch American Horror Story season 4 ("Freak Show") -- not that great, on the whole, but some very freaky imagery for sure.
