Am I too dramatic if I say everything/every place in the world is going to hell?

A critical lack of foreign currency has left Sri Lanka struggling to service its ballooning $51 billion public debt...

Never borrow large amounts in a foreign currency unless you've lots of it that you're not using.

Too bad, Sri Lanka sold their souls to China - the Red Loan Shark.

Rajapaksa clan curried favor with China and sold off their country piecemeal. When they were booted out of power they promised unachievable things to come back to power even though the Sri Lankan economy was going down the toilet.

Now when things are out of control, Sri Lanka is asking for help from India. India should provide all the help it can on humanitarian grounds and also as a larger neighbour with deep rooted cultural ties, but the condition should be that Rajapaksa clan has to go.

China uses loans to take over countries. They want your airports, shipping terminals, and any commerce related infrastructure. Don't pay back the loan and China controls your imports.

When a government behaves like this, the clock is ticking on their eventual removal. If your government turns your net off, turn your government off. Our politicians are there to serve our needs. They do not own us - we are not their slaves. When they treat us like criminals, prisoners or children, it is time to replace them, by any means necessary.

Better to allow the protests, until they become violent, then send in the police to break up the crowds. A little venting isn't bad.

There has to be a way to remove a leader who isn't able to solve the problems of the country. Use that method, especially if that leader has the power to disconnect specific internet access. Dictators do that and Sri Lanka isn't a dictatorship.

Just did a little reading on Sri Lanka. They have some human rights violations with people being disappeared, still, I want to visit this country.

Unfortunately the "Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka" is a banana Republic with dwindling human rights as their economic dependence on China increases.
