Mayor Lori Lightfoot agreed that the melee had nothing to do with a protest. “This was straight-up felony criminal conduct,” she said. “This was an assault on our city.”

This could be the first thing she's ever said that makes sense. She has been a disaster and needs to be replaced with someone who is competent.

Sorry, but it’s not the same analogy, I have a lot of police in my family in the very large city where there’s a lot of crime and I know for a fact that in this major city the police are not running rouge killing people on a whim. Again you have some bad cops, I do believe so, but most of them are trying to do their job. The Democrats on the other hand were never trying to work with this president or with this administration under any circumstances and they have made it abundantly clear at Trump’s inauguration, that is why so many of them ended up not attending, now imagine if that would’ve been Obama and the Republicans wouldn’t have shown up, the Democrats would have screamed immediately the Republicans are racist, but boycotting Trump’s inauguration that’s OK.

So many Americans these days no longer trust the police and their "stories". They have been caught lying so many times now that NOTHING they say is believed.

Same here and if you closely scrutinize all of the junk hate the police political rhetoric the majority of police are doing a good job, now that Seattle will start defunding the police, guess what? A lot of people will be leaving. Liberals are creating more Trump supporters and they don’t even realize it.

Problems like this article reports on are BECAUSE of inane divisions created by trolls both on and off the internet and here we have people doing their best to promote even more division. This does not lead back to political parties or political spectrum. This leads back to rich vs. poor and the army of the rich, the police vs. the community. You can also bring in racism, esp. black vs. white but I would argue its more black culture vs. white culture. The liberal far left has broken otherwise good people. They have put into their minds that it is perfectly normal behavior to go loot and destroy anytime police do their job to protect the community they live in. when did it become normal behavior to rob stores and assault police?

Have you seen the aerial videos of the Best Buy parking lot? its like a war zone, trash scattered all over.

They had organized caravans of cars to load the stolen items into and to help the thieves get away. Hundreds of people, organized by social media. Over the supposed made up shooting of a child, as the adult shooter actually shot at police and was being chased by them.

But Black Lives Matter! or something. Looting the Tesla dealership and electronics stores is perfectly allowed now in liberal narrative as a response to anything the police do. Orangemanbad or something.

This was a large "house party" and independent gathering that was both illegal and out of control.

That all seems highly improbable. And who shot those two people? Doesn't say. Was it police? They wouldn't say.

Looting suggests a far deeper problem in American society.

This is getting old. Getting shot during a traffic stop, lying in bed or walking down the street, or holding a toy gun is VERY DIFFERENT from getting shot AFTER shooting someone and then shooting at the police. If you all want continued support, knock off the destruction. We’re losing patience with random, wanton destruction.

Sad, really sad, but as long as Chicago vote for these Democrats, this will continue and it’s just depressing because Chicago is actually a very beautiful city.
