As someone who lived in Scotland for nearly a decade I can shed some light on the above comment.
In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power.

Operation London Bridge on the death of the queen.
Operation Unicorn and the others all contain precise details and well-rehearsed scenarios known only to those involved. The general public does not get all the details.

President Biden said he will attend the State Funeral of the queen. Will Obama, Clinton, Bush, and Trump also attend? Trump won't be happy with a refusal.
The only president the queen did not meet during her reign was Johnson.
I believe in Unicorns, and dragons too.

The Unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. The unicorn was first introduced to the royal coat of arms of Scotland around the mid-1500s.

Thought to be the strongest of all animals and thus the symbol of Scottish kings. It could only be overpowered by a female virgin, so there was little danger to kings in Scotland.

Yes, it is.
Also, the national anthem references a mythological person. All a bit silly.
Maybe the UK doesn’t have too many impressive real animals to choose from. Badgers, hedgehogs and squirrels are great but not really suitable. Golden eagles would be good candidates but the eagle symbol is a bit cliched and unimaginative.
I like robins.
