If I didn’t know any better I might suspect articles like this are trying to frame border enforcement as unjust and cruel.

Point 1, I have concern about the ability of CBP to care for thousands of children too, as that is not their mission.

Point 2, liberals saying we don’t need a wall because illegal immigrantion is down. Yet now it’s a “surge” and so many people we don’t even have space to keep them?

about the ability of U.S. border authorities to care for the thousands of minors arriving as part of a surge of families trying to enter the country.

With two kids dead, it's a real question.

Point 2, liberals saying we don’t need a wall because illegal immigrantion is down.

No, that's not the reason we're giving. It's amazing that after the dozens of times we've explained it to, you're still manufacturing outrage about something that only exists in your head.

The fact that Nielsen went to the Hill to testify and couldn't say how many people had died during her term in office is cause enough to fire her. How could no one anticipate that question? The incompetence of this administration is killing people.

The deaths of these children could have most likely been prevented. The medics and screenings should have been in place a long time ago not after the children died.

Parents should be arrested for endangering children, not border patrol.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

A parent that is willing to subject a child to such danger and abuse deserves the greatest degree of shame possible. Forever.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Parents should be arrested for endangering children, not border patrol.

The flaw in your argument is that once they are taken into custody, the parents do not have control over their children, making them responsibility of those who have taken custody.

Trumpers:  "Yea, all you parents - how dare you leave a country where you fear for your life everyday and come to America and force us to jail your kids and deny them food, water, and medical care.... What kind of parents are you" (most are Christian Catholics from central America...).

Try Trump as an accessory to murder - after he is impeached.

And all the Trumpers can plead their case when the time comes with Saint Peter...

It's silly of people to blame the deaths of parents because you guys aren't really thinking about the situation that the families are in to begin with. Coming from impoverished gang terrorized neighborhoods, they weren't probably doing so well in the first place.

IT's also pretty funny to blame the border agents because of the amount of traffic they are dealing with at the moment is huge.

I think it is possible the deaths could have been prevented though, had we been directed by a competent administration whose priorities were less about building a wall and more about dealing with the border security in a timely and realistic manner. I can only see this happening more from here on out. A wall isn't what would have saved these people.

What they should do is they should try to fight for the country and they should try to fix the problems internally and politically. The more the people leave the more unstable the country becomes and then what you going to have in the end is another Somalia. Then you have a real crap storm on your hands. As sad and tragic as it is, it was the father that made the conscious choice to take his son and his death is his responsibility.

Try Trump as an accessory to murder - after he is impeached.

Murder? Now you guys are jumping off the ledge.

Huh?

Lincolnman; in the two cases in the story, the illegals LEFT FAMILY MEMBERS BEHIND in their home countries in order to do the run to the USA. If they genuinely feared for their lives, why would they do that? It would be much better, safer, and easier for their whole families to seek asylum in Mexico. A country that they share a heritage and language with, and is also closer to home. The point of asylum is to seek safety until it is safe to RETURN to ones' homeland. It is not a route to permanent migration.

The Border Patrol is just that- a patrol. It is not a paramedic organization, or a medical response team. They do their best in trying circumstances, there is no evidence to the contrary.

FWIW, I think building a wall is a pretty stupid idea too. A minefield would be more effective, and cheaper as well.

What they should do is they should try to fight for the country and they should try to fix the problems internally and politically.

Sure. Everyone can do that because most people aren't fighting to simply scrape by in such a horrid environment.

The more the people leave the more unstable the country becomes and then what you going to have in the end is another Somalia.

Migration was the trigger to Somalia's current problems? I guess the history books have been lying to me again.

Not everyone has the resources to send a lot of people.

You conservatives try to apply your experiences in a developed society to issues that arise in undeveloped countries. Yoinks.

So, when border agents like this year are arrested for molesting immigrant girls, we should blame the parents for bringing their children to a country where border agents abuse them?

Thanks conservatives! I understand your logic. Blames the victim unless they are a conservative.

Trump fans see this as a win.

Apply for a visa. Pay money

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Entirely preventable. Dont walk 2000 miles to our border without an invitation to enter.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Stay home and your kids would still be alive. Selfish people.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yeah people” fleeing for their lives” but leave other kids and spouses behind. Yet the people left behind, nothing bad seems to happen to them.

The deaths simply being used to bring emotion into a non emotion based legal matter.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

How do you know that they were coming from impoverished gang terrorized neighborhoods?

It's the talking point we got from Soros via the Deep State.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Migration was the trigger to Somalia's current problems?

No, instability and lawlessness was the beginning problem of Somalia.

I guess the history books have been lying to me again.

Hmmmm....

You conservatives try to apply your experiences in a developed society to issues that arise in undeveloped countries. Yoinks.

No, we just want people to and illegals to follow the rules, nothing more.

Oh, please! Now every single border agent is a rapist? Please!

This is so typical from liberals trying to shift the blame. No one told this father to leave, no one told this father to take his child, no one told us father to put his child in a very serious in peril situation, he decided he made the decision, that is his responsibility and I know all liberals don’t want to hear it, but he made that choice and sadly and regrettably he hast to live with it. That’s the difference between conservatives and liberals, liberals chose to live in denial.

Maybe USA should allow NGO to go there and help... apprently response isn't adequate from authority.

I don't know about you, but i have friends in guatemala and in nicaragua... Guatemala is not nice, but my friend in Nicaragua is just affraid to be shot every day... he is so scared and just has to be very careful all the time about what he does and where he goes... Can you blame these people for fleeing ?? really ? For hoping his son can have a bright future somewhere else, rather than have to live a life in fear in his country ? And you just judge the father for selfishly bringing him along ?

Stay home and your kids would still be alive. Selfish people.

ASSUMPTION.

Stick to conspiracy theories.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

No, instability and lawlessness was the beginning problem of Somalia.

So your analogy was not accurate. Thanks for clearing that up.

No, we just want people to and illegals to follow the rules, nothing more.

If that's what you call trying to apply your developed country experiences to undeveloped countries.

Oh, please! Now every single border agent is a rapist? Please!

That wasn't the assertion or the question. Try answering the question instead of deflecting and obfuscating.

That’s the difference between conservatives and liberals, liberals chose to live in denial.

This is rich coming from the poster that denies Obama shrank public employment and grew private employment.

Someone clearly has a bee in their bonnet. Another child is dead and yet the focus is on liberals.

Really?

A 7 and an 8 year old lost their lives. Think about that for one moment.

This kind of obsession is why the US has lost the last remnants of respect and trust.

Bone spurs.

No one told your ancestors to leave their nations and seek a better life, either, but they did. In their case, fortunately for you, who likes to forget it while you would slam the door on others with a grin, the nation still abided by the Constitution, and words of the wise... "Give us your poor..." In a way, it's a shame they didn't lock your family out. Maybe then you'd have a different take, or perhaps you would have suffered the same fate as these little ones. But nah... denial for you, instead. And hate...

The elite right wingers who left their country for life in Japan, they claim to love their countries.

So why leave?

Is it because you're priviliged and are therefore, worthy of seeking a better life?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Maybe, just maybe their home countries can relocate these children to those places within their own countries

Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?

Bah humbug

Two children are dead, hundreds more separated from their parents and living in squalid conditions, and your only reaction is to close the door and put your fingers in your ears.

And what smitty said.
