Diplomatic VISAs are good for 30 days, provided the person is actually representing their country.

It is possible to change from a diplomatic VISA to another type - say tourist - while inside the US. A tourist VISA for Brazilians can be 180 days.

So, if he's in the US on a diplomatic VISA, he can switch to a tourist visa. If he entered on a tourist VISA, he has more time.

Bolsonaro said on Twitter that peaceful protests form part of democracy, but destroying public buildings crosses the line.

He's saying the right thing, even if leaving the country to avoid handing over power in person is petty.

The Fu ,he had an A 1 visa good for 30 days, meaning it illegal to establish residency on any temporary visa or engage in anything that can be interpreted as being work

Biden kinda busy right now for some petty vindictiveness- he’s under federal investigation himself. Call back later.

Why just Dem lawmakers - where's the Repubs?

Oh, that's right, they don't mind if defeated, humiliated, former autocrat Losers take up residence in Florida...

Florida - send us your far-right petty dictators and tyrants...they can join the ones we already have at Mar-A-Lago and Tallahassee...

What is the connection between Bolsonaro's visa for the US and events taking place in Brazil by parties other than Bolsonaro?

I'll answer that---none.

In the wake of the attack, Bolsonaro said on Twitter that peaceful protests form part of democracy, but destroying public buildings crosses the line.

Hmm--sounds like another leader who was speaking about the right of the people to lawfully assemble while at the same time admonishing violence.

Real stand up guy there Bolsanaro just standing up for the little guy in Brazil .

Not a right wing demagogue who of course once in power was all about strip-mining the country of its natural resources and a key legacy of the planet while talking about deregulation .

The US has a long and sordid history of giving refuge to right-wing dictators though.

Definitely be careful with visa status. A Japanese friend of mine entered the US on a tourist visa and married a US citizen. She was subsequently barred reentry. Be hones about your purpose and there should be no problems.

The US has a long and sordid history of giving refuge to right-wing dictators though.

Before the US invaded Haiti in 1994 to supposedly restore Aristide to power, two members of the deposed junta were given free rides. One who sold cocaine was allowed to live in NYC (he died there) and another is living in comfortable exile, in a mansion in Panama City, Panama.

And the same goes to the Samos family of Nicaragua, the Marcos family of the Philippines, and the Iranian shah. The Crown Prince gave up on ever succeeding his father, he committed suicide a few years ago.
