It's funny last election when Hillary was the front-runner Dems did everything they could to have her win the primary. Now a progressive (anti-corruption, anti-wall street) candidate is the front-runner Dems are welcoming others to join in. A rich fat-cat white guy from New York (sound familiar? aka current President).

It proves that the Democratic establishment is much more Republican than people know. Leaning "center" proved to be the downfall of the Dems last election and they are trying to do it again. Are they clueless?

Hopefully, Americans have learned never to vote someone into the Presidential office who doesn't have significant govt experience - Governor or at least a US Senator.

Knowing the rules of govt is actually a skill lacking in the current administration.

I'll not vote for anyone over 65.

Lots of political spending in 2020 will help the US economy. Let's get some of Bloomberg's cash.

Warren is unelectable. She keeps spouting too many crazy ideas. Not every she says is crazy, just a little too much is. She's too close to Bernie-crazy.

Pete Buttigieg needs to be a US Senator to gain more national experience. Besides that lack, he seems like a true believer. Fundamentalist Christians will never vote for him, however.

I thought buying elections was perfectly normal in the American interpretation of democracy. Only the rich are allowed to succeed. When was there last a poor president?

It really shows the weakness of most of the Democratic candidates that people like Mayor Mike are jumping into the race at this late date.

It really shows how messed up the American system is that a year out is "this late date".

But really, what does it matter when they declare? If they are the right candidate, and are able to navigate the game, who cares when they jump in. The idea that this shows weakness is silly. A strong candidate will do just fine even coming into the race late.

Always entertaining to watch the Dems cannibalize each other :-)

Its actually called democracy.

Candidates can freely try to get elected.

She is correct. Politics in the U.S. have forever changed due to Trump winning the Whitehouse. Biden is out now and I think he knows it.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Why is he running? He has absolutely no chance whatsoever to win and is too late to get any kind of support for the upcoming primaries. I don't understand what the guy is thinking.

About this Bloomberg character, another old white rich guy. Older and richer than orange man, in fact. Yeah, that will play great with their radical base, LOL

I don't think it will. He's too old.

Shows based on money only is no democracy.

My humble opinion.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yeah, that will play great with their radical base, LOL

He's running as a democrat not a republican!!

Bloomberg would make an awesome US President. He has integrity. He truly wants an America for all and he WILL AND ALWAYS HAS put HIS money where his mouth is.

Trump does make some valid points here and there but oh boy this guy should just keep to doing what he knows best, that being running casinos and using strong-arm tactics on little guys. He's a foulmouthed imbecile who's managing to ruin not only the USA and its reputation around the world but also that of its most trusted allies. Would this guy be happy to see the European Union disintegrate back to its former state? Is he really on America's side or on Putin's side?

To those who have until now supported President Trump, I understand and respect your decision but I ask you to please, please understand the consequences of him continuing as President. The people of The United States need and deserve a better leader. One with a higher IQ and a higher moral compass.

It really shows the weakness of most of the Democratic candidates that people like Mayor Mike are jumping into the race at this late date. I'm going to enjoy watching them all organize a circular firing squad and start shooting at each other. The last "debate" was unwatchable. Too many agreements, not enough fireworks.

As a card carrying member of the vast right wing conspiracy, I would be most afraid of a Democratic ticket of Buttigieg/Gabbard or Buttigieg/Yang. A huge contrast to the elderly white dudes in the GOP (Trump Pence). If the Dems nominate one of their own old white folks, they are doomed.

Always entertaining to watch the Dems cannibalize each other :-)

what will be cannibalized is Trump hair plugs as he pulls them out with Bloomberg's $100million advertising campaign, all paid for out of his own pocket not expecting the taxpayer to foot the bill. hes got way more than Trump could ever hope to raise or spend. Trumpsters love their billionaires let see them have a taste of what its like from the otherside. LOL

Bloomburg is even older than Biden! Looks in better health

its not the age that's the problem it the mental faculty of the person, if I had to choose which person still had a proper functioning brain and not have to repeat themselves and conveniently forget everything they've ever said and speak a word salad every second speech, Id take Bloomberg over Trump anyday

All candidates from the two main parties are trying to buy whatever election in which they are running.

Burning: I'm proud of you for not kicking off the thread with one of your blatant lies.

Warren needn't worry:

Bloomberg News won’t do investigative reporting on any democratic presidential candidates now that the news organization’s multibillionaire owner, Michael Bloomberg, has jumped into the 2020 race.

“We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries,” [Editor-in-chief] John Micklethwait wrote in a memo to newsroom staffers on Sunday after Mr. Bloomberg announced his intention to run.

And when an African American South Bend council member endorses someone other than Mayor Pete, you know he isn't a good choice either.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Bloomberg has his advantages, he is actually rich not pretend rich like Donny.

He has made money, not lost money like Donny.

However the US elections are not just about personal riches the lack of it, its about the issues he is running on.

Unless you run for GOP , then you can just show that you are a bigot and a misogynist and they will turn out in droves to vote for you!

Mike Bloomberg's announcement yesterday was a very, very bad news for Trump. Warren and other Democrat candidates should be glad that Bloomberg decided to enter the race to give the Democrat Party a better chance to win the coming election. Mike Bloomberg is surely a party pooper to Trump not the other way round.

About this Bloomberg character, another old white rich guy. Older and richer than orange man, in fact. Yeah, that will play great with their radical base, LOL

...and as usual, the discussion soon turns to insults and the like directed at the current President. It seems that some people can't help but signal their personal feelings. If an orangutan could preside over an economy with the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, a soaring stock market, the beginnings of a sensible immigration policy, and no more new foreign wars, I would agree. Not sure who in the current crop of Democratic hopefuls could do the same.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Deep pockets are no guarantee of victory. Remember, Clinton spent more than $500 million MORE than Trump in 2016 and still managed to lose the election.

Bloomburg is even older than Biden! Looks in better health and a lot sharper mentally, but still he will be a tough sell to the younger members of the party. They already have enough septugenarians to choose from.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Yeah. So the entire Democratic party lost to a candidate who is below an orangutan. Cant even impeach a sub-orangutan in 3 years. Wonder how that makes them feel? Liberals couldnt even get Sean Spicer off a dancing TV show for months when he was obviously the worst dancer there.

I keep saying Tulsi Gabbard is the best because everytime Dems hear her name, and that the right would be ok with her, they attack her and move further to the fringe left candidates who cant win.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Ok now do Joe "lets keep punching at domestic violence" Biden. would you take his speeches over Trump? He acts like they only let him out of the house one day a week. But of course you would pick him anyway.....

if I had to choose which person still had a proper functioning brain and not have to repeat themselves and conveniently forget everything they've ever said and speak a word salad every second speech, Id take Bloomberg over Trump anyday

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

We could also talk about Senator Warren, the "whiter than a polar bear in a blizzard" lady who still enjoyed publishing her recipes in a tome entitled "Pow Wow Chow"! Nothing racist or demeaning there... or Senator Sanders, perhaps the only person thrown out of a hippie commune for being too lazy!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Always entertaining to watch the Dems cannibalize each other :-)

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Bloomberg of course is better than Trump, an orangutan is better than Trump. The worse President ever. An empty chair is a vast improvement. At least an empty chair does not sell out the country to the Russians.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

To those who have until now supported President Trump, I understand and respect your decision but I ask you to please, please understand the consequences of him continuing as President. Trump has his faults but we haven't had a better president since Lincoln at least. Trump is routinely 3 steps ahead of the Democrats, and his morals are way higher than theirs.

Mike Bloomberg's announcement yesterday was a very, very bad news for Trump

I dunno. When your enemies are beating up on each other, let 'em have at it.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Yeah no investigations into any Dem candidates at all by Bloomberg News.

so Warren is safe to keep lying to minorities to try to get their vote.

why is she mad? I thought Bloomberg only exists to spend 100s of millions to damage Trump? Did he not get the meno from all the other Dems that he isn’t allowed to actually try to win?
