Lawsuits, indictments, payments, prison, more failed businesses, huge lawyer bills.

That is Trump’s future.

Let's hope that there will be consequences, since up to this point he has eluded them.

Of course all truths re the insurrection need to come out. Those found to have participated in Trump's failed attempt to violently steal the election need to be tried. The voters need to know which politicians supported and encouraged Trump's deadly mob to attack the capitol.

But given the Republicans have fully accepted Qanon, the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and dozens of other violent white nationalist and other far right groups into their ‘tent’, groups among the most violent of the capital attackers, the R hierarchy know they cannot risk losing that part of their base.

The Republicans will continue to do whatever they can to protect their Trump, the ‘leader’ of the Republican Party, and the extreme right base following him. The R’s will continue to do whatever they can to protect Trump and his base. Fortunately they remain a minority party.

An entire summer of BLM/Antifa violence, looting, and actual murder across the US......GOOD!

False equivalence.

Standing up to your boss and a racist system is good, though.

Remind us what the man babies were standing up for on Jan 6th?

Because it wasn't law and order.

politically motivated litigation aimed at slowing down a Trump resurgence, yuck

That's a perspective. Another is criminals violently attacked the capitol. 5 people died as a result. Hundreds of lives, including the lives of members of congress, their families, support staff and others were put at risk by the criminal's violent acts. 140 police officers were injured defending the capitol from the mob.

The majority of Americans want to know who all was responsible for the assault.

But it could well be if Trump is found to have played a role in inciting the mob, he will see a resurgence among those in his far right base. After all, the criminals who attacked the capitol are among his largest support groups. They would be pleased seeing their Trump take further responsibility for having led them.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

It's hard to win cases like these, but it will be fun to see if they use McConnell's and Graham's statements placing partial blame on Trump. They could actually just use statements by Republicans for everything, and hearing McCarthy describe that phone call under oath would be lots of fun. :)

It seems like trump has already employed the services of slimy Steve Bannon to lay the ground work for him to claim some kind of mental issue while trump was the president as a defense. He did the same thing with funding of a poorly written research paper about COVID-19 and the border wall project that got Steve Bannon arrested on fraud charges. I guess he owes trump one for the pardon.

The fake news about voter fraud will not help trump in a real court of law!

Steve Bannon believed Trump had dementia and sought to oust him from White House, new book claims

@Bass4funk

Here we go again, more wasted tax dollars on more frivolous lawsuits, gotta give the Dems credit though, like little kids that beg their parents for that cool toy unrelenting and begging, the Dems are essentially doing the same thing and no matter how many times they’re told to give up, it’s never going to happen, they press on....

More tax dollars were wasted on Benghazi, and more money was wasted on a two-time impeached president wasting time at the golf course while the country suffered from a China originating pandemic, Russian cyberattacks, and failing economy under trump's watch.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

The cultists are absolutely terrified this morning.

politically motivated litigation aimed at slowing down a Trump resurgence, yuck

Think you mean insurgence.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

Trump supporters: You can't try Trump for the riot in the Senate, just try him in criminal court, since he's a private citizen.

Federal courts: Okay.

Trump supporters: No stop it

11 ( +13 / -2 )

I’m not so much pro Trump as I’m anti democratic

Good to see the right finally admit that it hates democracy. Refreshing in its honesty.

Don't worry Donald, Sidney Powell called and she said she is ABSOLUTELY sure The Kraken will show up this time...

I know, right! Powell was so scared of the Kraken that she fled across several states to try to avoid being served papers in a lawsuit from Dominion. The company had to hire investigators to track her down.

trump and the rest of the rats are hiding in their holes!

11 ( +12 / -1 )

So, my question to the people on JT who support trump and the other insurrectionist who tried to overthrow a legally and fairly democratically elected US president who received the most votes in US history.

If the tables were turned and Biden tried to overthrow trump with a militia of nutjobs after winning the election, what would trump have done? Would trump just move on and forget about it?

LOL! Who will be trump's defense team in a real court of law?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The truth will come out slowly. What interests me most is who were the several members of Congress conducting tour groups through the Capital on 5 January and who was in their respective tour groups. There were leaders in the demonstration with a good working knowledge of the layout of the Capital and where the offices of specific Democratic legislators were. That is not generally public knowledge but someone being led on a tour the day before by a member of Congress might know that sort of thing. I think when that comes out, and it will, the you know what will hit the fan.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

What would have happened if Trump had won? Would you have gone quietly into that good night? Democrat politicians spent 4 years refusing to accept the results of the 2016 election.

Clinton conceded the morning after the election. Please try to remain based in some variation of reality.

No one said that because Trump didn't explicitly incite the riot. The only people who believe he did are the ones who didn't listen to his speech. Did he come very close? Yeah, but he didn't directly call for people to storm the building, which is why impeachment 2.0 was DOA and so is this case.

Trump spent months lying to his supporters that the election was stolen, that the courts were lying, that his VP was weak, and told them to march to the Capitol to take back their country with strength. He incited the riot, and made no efforts to get his supporters to stop until hours later, and very weakly.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

I agree. Cops are heroes. Not the current members of Congress.

There are genuine hero's and complete scoundrels among both professions. I have seen both with my own eyes and know this to be true. The Confucian concept of Yin/Yang is highly descriptive of our world.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Since donald has dumped rudy, wait for them to turn on each other in court.

The fun is just starting!!!

9 ( +10 / -1 )

@Mr. Noidall

No need to hypothesize. They’ve been trying to overthrow Trump from day one. From the Washington Post:

The effort to impeach President Donald John Trump is already underway.

We know! He was already impeached twice! That is what happens when you get caught breaking the law.

How many other presidents in US history can say they were impeached twice?

LOL! MAGA!

9 ( +11 / -2 )

The impeachments were nothing more than democrat shenanigans. The first one on bogus charges. The second one unconstitutional.

See? You are alt-right after all! I mean at least you're much closer Lindsey Graham than a Mitt Romney.

But I won’t pretend I didn’t witness what I did the last four years.

That is a very revealing Freudian slip.

The anti-Trump hysteria conjured up before he even took office.

4 absolutely dreadful years later, filled with failures, lies, derelictions of duty, many avoidable deaths, one seditious riot and lots and lots of golfing, don't you think the "hysteria" was, in retrospect, completely justified? It's a rethorical question, I know you don't. But the majority of americans who never want to see him in politics again does.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

@Joe Blow

No one said that because Trump didn't explicitly incite the riot. The only people who believe he did are the ones who didn't listen to his speech. Did he come very close? Yeah, but he didn't directly call for people to storm the building, which is why impeachment 2.0 was DOA and so is this case.

Actually, that was not the reason impeachment 2.0 was DOA! Republican Senator Toomey was censured by his own party for voting to convict.

Speaking to KDTV, Washington County Republican Party chair Dave Ball said: “We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing, whatever he said he was doing. We sent him there to represent us, and we feel very strongly that he did not represent us.”

Republican senator who voted to convict Trump was not sent to DC to 'do the right thing', his party complains

https://www.yahoo.com/news/republican-senator-voted-convict-trump-171609072.html

9 ( +9 / -0 )

@Whatsnext

They will never stop attacking him until he's dead. Its to send a message to everyone to not stand up for your country. People applauding this are applauding the death of america. Obviously not Americans.

Or, to send a message that criminality, fraud, incompetence, tyranny, and insurrection will not be tolerated in the United States. That applies to presidents as well as regular citizens and anyone in between.

Why do you folks hate my country and my president with such a passion?

Biden, right?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Great, more theater to keep Americans bickering and at each other's throats for a few months.

A more conciliatory tone on your part might just set a precedent for others. Just saying ..................... It has to start somewhere.

Great, more theater to keep Americans bickering and at each other's throats for a few months.

Trump will be acquitted, guaranteed.

Not in Court he won't. Youre kidding yourself.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

The effort to impeach President Donald John Trump is already underway.

You might want to keep more up to date with the news. That already happened.

Twice.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Could the people wearing Trump merchandise who went to Trump rallies and were chanting "Fight for Trump!" and who have extensive histories of pro-Trump social media posts and who came to see Trump speak on January 6 possibly be Trump supporters?

We may never know.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Here we go again, more wasted tax dollars on more frivolous lawsuits, gotta give the Dems credit though, like little kids that beg their parents for that cool toy unrelenting and begging, the Dems are essentially doing the same thing and no matter how many times they’re told to give up, it’s never going to happen, they press on....

Yep, failing like making Trump a one-term President, taking back the Senate, and keeping the House...

All while watching the Repub Party implode....

Some losing...

Many thousands attended the peaceful rally on Jan 6.

Uh-huh, the peaceful rally where 140 police officers were injured and one killed...

In addition to the Proudboys, whose leader is an FBI informant, there was also a small number of people dressed in black with helmets, riot shields,... (i.e. just like Antifa) that broke windows and entered the Capitol.

The Q Shaman isn't happy you are calling him Antifa...

https://www.insider.com/q-shaman-antifa-conspiracy-theory-capitol-protest-riot-lin-wood-2021-1

Some people planned in advance to riot and enter the Capitol. Many of those who entered were simply let it. It's as if some people wanted to disrupt the hearing that was taking place. Hmmm, who could that be? Who refused the national guards? Why were the police so "unprepared"?

Yea. those 140 police officers were critically injured by standing aside and letting the mob in. And who refused the National Guard? Maybe the Commander-in-Chief?

politically motivated litigation aimed at slowing down a Trump resurgence, yuck

Tell that to the people who died!

7 ( +14 / -7 )

Even some Republicans who voted to acquit Trump on Saturday acknowledged that the more proper venue to deal with Trump was in the courts, especially now that he has left the White House and lost certain legal protections that shielded him as president.

Those Republicans in the Senate who didn't vote to convict are still afraid of the Trump army. They are less afraid of the other 60+% of American voters. That tells us they are unfit for office. Passing the buck, because they are afraid. Vote them all out.

Hope I get called to be on the jury in Georgia's trial for tampering with the election - assuming there is a jury trial. BTW, I won't because I don't live in Atlanta city limits. Juries don't cross county lines in the US, unless there is a change of venue ordered.

Numan: If the tables were turned and Biden tried to overthrow trump with a militia of nutjobs after winning the election, what would trump have done? Would trump just move on and forget about it?

Noidall: No need to hypothesize. They’ve been trying to overthrow Trump from day one.

It's hard to believe you would equate "two liberal advocacy groups" running a website with Biden and Democrats in government.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I feel for rudy, he was a hero in 2001 and now the laughing stock of the world.

All for what, a mentally unsound sorry excuse of a human who would sell his mother for a few cents.

This is one rat fight I am going to enjoy!!!

Well done Rep Thompson...

Don't worry Donald, Sidney Powell called and she said she is ABSOLUTELY sure The Kraken will show up this time...

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Noidall:. But we all know it wasn’t just two advocacy groups.

Then tell us who else.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

@Raw Beer

They had nothing against Trump during the impeachment hearings, this will not be any more convincing.

That is what you said about the other trump associates that were convicted in the "real court of law". Of course, he pardoned those people because he thought they would help steal an election, or they paid him off.

LOL! Who is going to pardon him in the federal court room?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Without constantly attacking trump and keeping him in the news, these Dems become irrelevant and the commenters on JT wont know what to do.

Says the guy who's commenting on JT...

These are always the most commented articles on the page and usually shut down after a while.

And we know why...

The media and Dems can't give trump up. It's like an annoying stalker x. "If I can't have you, nobody can have you."

The American people gave Trump up - 82 million to 74....and a lot of those 74 gave up on Jan 6th...

Just ask Mitch McConnell or Liz Cheney...

7 ( +7 / -0 )

They had nothing against Trump during the impeachment hearings,

Yes they did, that's why he was impeached in the first place.

Many thousands attended the peaceful rally on Jan 6.

In addition to the Proudboys, whose leader is an FBI informant, there was also a small number of people dressed in black with helmets, riot shields,... (i.e. just like Antifa) that broke windows and entered the Capitol.

They are barking up the wrong tree.

Wow, some people have really drank the Kool-Aid. And apparently then went for seconds too!

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Trump will be acquitted, guaranteed.

funny how wrong you were with your house, senate and presidential election predictions. get this, multiple state tax , wire fraud and rape charges coming Trumps way use actual judges and jurors. there will be no senators to rule on his cases. lol

45ists online for months after elections - we're going to do anything and all it takes to get 45 his second term. Dems better watch out.

45 - fight like hell

45ists - yeah and we can film ourselves as we do it for millions to see because we proud and doing anything and all it takes oh and we'll be coming for the Veep

A few weeks later

45ists - it was a peaceful day out and if stuff did happen, it was anteeefa

More tax dollars were wasted on Benghazi,

No, if you combine to impeachment in the middle investigation, you’re looking at close to over $250 million in the taxpayer dollars that was spent and what did the Democrats get out of it? Absolutely nothing.

Sounds like the amount Trump fleeced from his supporters for the "Stop the Steal" campaign - and we know how successful that was....

Like Trump’s lawsuits challenging the election?

Yup.

The ones which had a 1-64 win/loss record... Lol....

When/ if Trump is convicted,

He won’t be.

Just like "Trump will win in a landslide" and "Doubt Georgia will turn Blue"...

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Trump has shown great preservation through all the shenanigans.

Great self-preservation, you mean.

Yeah, Trump, yuck!

The tsunami of litigation coming Trump's way will mean no more time for binge-watching TV, well, let's say not until he's banged up in orange with Rudy and Roger and the other usual suspects.

That number is insane, and of course false.

in the taxpayer dollars that was spent and what did the Democrats get out of it?

An impeached president.

Only saved (and explicitly not exonerated) by his own party, minus two sane republicans. I've written this dozens of times now, but it seems some people are still confused about the whole process.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I love it, still trying and still failing. They call him the Teflon Don for a reason.

and yet hes been declared bankrupt 6 times in court and even found guilty of charity fraud. these were mostly state charges, tax ,wire, electoral and rape charges to come real soon. when youre a private citizen your not so teflon

oh like the over 150millon that went into Trumps 300 plus golf trips in his 4yrs, most of them played at his resorts much of that money going into his pockets. what did the Republicans get out of it!? just a lost house senate and presidency in 4yrs

4 ( +5 / -1 )

If the Senate is too chicken to nail the traitor Trump then maybe this will punish him. And he must be punished for his treason!

The left however seems to turn a blind eye to all the rioting and storming of federal courthouses its members have committed.
