How come when every old female American politician/lawmaker dies, she was a 'trailblazer'?

RIP.

But she should have retired a very long time ago.

Hopefully a far better person will be elected in the future.

Because they were the first woman to do what was previously shut off to them due to their gender.

Are you really so obtuse that this needs explanation or are you just being disingenuous?

She will go down in the annuls of history. Cancun Cruz and his “ilk” will be remembered as ineffectual trolls.

Feinstein sometimes frustrated liberals by adopting moderate or hawkish positions that put her at odds with the left wing of the Democratic Party, as well as with the more liberal Boxer, who retired from the Senate in 2017.

Similar to Nancy Pelosi this was her role.

The mainstream democrats will give their constituencies a culture war when they want a class war.

See the rise of right-wing populism.

I'm not obtuse enough to take liberal hyperbole at its word. She wasn't the first senator by a long shot. Any trailblazing is not described in this article. Unless being a female Democrat is 'trailblazing'.

DiFi was not a liberal in terms of California politics. For those unfamiliar or too young to know about her early days in politics, DiFi became the acting mayor of San Francisco following the killing of Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk. DiFi did so in a most dignified and respectful way.

I personally found her politics to the right of my own, but her politically legacy certainly is impressive. I would respect this legacy more had she had the awareness to retire last election.

I will remember her for her ardor to preserve vast areas of the Mojave Desert, a place I love dearly. The flora and fauna of the desert are far more fragile than most realize, but she did, and she worked hard to carve out a big chunk of that desert to preserve for future generations to enjoy.

Feinstein did some good as a politician but time and corruption ate away at her liberal legacy. She aged disgracefully and clung fast to her Senate seat until death snatched it away. Sad.

If one understands history you would know she wasn’t the first trailblazer politically. She served her country, I didn’t agree with her on most issues and she used to be a very centrist and pragmatic Democrat, the last 12 years of her life she become more politically radical. Very sad, but she was a decent woman overall. RIP.

First female Mayor from San Francisco, First female senator from CA, First Female head if the intelligence committee.

I'm not obtuse

As all of this was in the article above, that seems debatable.

To be fair, you could be disingenuous as well.

Great accomplishments and she was extremely moderate, not political and definitely not a hardcore partisan Washington swamp creature in those days.

Sad that in the end she changed for the worst. Real shame.

Great accomplishments

One could say “Trail Blazing”.

All signs point to a Black woman being appointed to DiFi's now empty Senate slot.

I smell congressman Clybourn’s hand in this again. What is up with Democrats in race, merit doesn’t mean anything to them at all anymore?

He paid respect to a person that passed away so the least you could do is say thank you instead of accusing people of being fake.
