Incredibly, even after the Monica Lewinsky debacle, Clinton is still revered as an elder statesman...

Clinton as president acted shamefully, Obama has only cost me more money and my last job. Bush and the "chad" thing in florida made me feel like he cheated his way into office. Leaving God in or out is a pesonal choice. All I am asking for, is a little more honesty, and dont be slow in carring out your promisses...

Clinton's redemption cleverly orchestrated by PR and lots of favours after his dismal failure as a president does not qualify him to reccomend any one for anything. He is a sad example of how stupid American can be in the face of facts about degenerate public figures.

The guy who looked at me and every American straight in the eye on TV and lied is tellng me who I should support. Yea OK.

You can watch the whole speech on Youtube. I thought it was better than Obama's in that Bill went off prompter and just went with it. Even half the facts from Clinton makes more sense than anything from Romney/Ryan but that's what it looks like from here in Canada.

No one was attacking Christianity itself. They were attacking the idea of having religion included in the democratic platform for what is suppose to be a secular government.

I think it was pretty obvious that the Dem's in the convention hall were attacking God - and more specifically Christianity. The word God has appeared in the party platform for quite a long time and in no sense has this ever implied that government is run on the basis of any religion.

I am not a religious person myself, but it's kind of obvious that there is an anti-Christian strain within the Democrat party. Politics is about values and morality so to say that religion cannot inform government is to ignore the inherent spirituality of being human. Government leaders have made reference to God for as long as America has existed and it has harmed no one. To oppose religious points of view reveals a narrowness of perspective. You don't have to agree with it, but it is important to other people and so I am tolerant of it.

The government may be considered secular, but the values that are contain within the governments laws are informed by religion as well as custom and tradition. America's Founders were nearly all religious to some degree or other and were quite open about the influence of religion in informing their views on government. "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights". Jefferson's words do not refer to a secular justification for separating the colonies from Britain in the Declaration of Independence. Yet the government was not then made to function from within a church.

The polls show a TIGHT NECK and NECK race Obama 47% approval and a 47% disapproval, Romney at 46% When in 2008, he was campaigning with McCain, Obama led with an 8% point lead, that was a giver that Obama was going to win, this time, not so fast. Bill Clinton said enough more than what I could say. That's the reason I am for Obama. Please read it, it only takes 48 minutes to understand every issue in this election. Clinton did delivered it well. Do not stay close minded and I encourage you to read it.

Politics is very serious and personal as your life depends on it. Voters have relatives who are unemployed (walfare), no health insurance, no higher education access, sick families and disability,or they themselves are already in this mess.

Your 48 minutes you well spend for reading will solve many unanswered questions you have raised.

Yeah, I can't wait to hear Obama's "give me four more years to prove that the socialist policies that failed in Europe will magically work here" speech. Obama has no clue that the economy is driven by people with jobs in small and mid sized companies, not by government spending. That's not a surprise, really. Obama never spent a day in the private sector, he's been a left wing drug abusing (unlike Clinton, who didn't inhale) rabble rouser all his professional life.

Just to put this in perspective, the Dems controlled the house and senate for the last part of the Bush lite years. They also controlled both during Obama's 1st two years. So whatever they want to blame on Bush lite - hey, you guys (including Obama) were there too helping to make the mess.

Say what you want about Bill Clinton, he WAS a masterful politician. He could work successfully with Republicans not normally known for being reasonable. Newt Gingrich, for example. Pres. Obama simply doesn't have the chops for the job. He just isn't interested in retail leval politics.

Do not knock Bill Clinton; he was the only President that ever accomplished anything in the Oral Office. With that said, as I have said before in my comments, until the USA changes the power of the House and Senate, you can put whoever you want into office as President, but nothing will change.

Fact of the matter is that George Bush hasn't uttered one word of criticism towards President Obama since he has left office. And refuses to do so. The US is going to take a Long time to recover from our past presidents policies. I still can't get over G W Bush's excuse of trying to recreate the US into a service industry instead of a manufacturing industry. Bush's idea gave companies up to 1.4 million dollars to have their products made in China. Instead of creating jobs in the US, he created jobs in China. The job growth percentage during Obama's term (+0.84%) is still higher than that of George Bush before him (+0.51% first term, -0.84% second term). He is even doing better than Bush's father, George H.W. Bush (+0.69%). Of course, they all pale in comparison to job growth during the Clinton years (+2.60 during his first term and +1.60 during his second term).

One of the eye-opening things about these political threads is the desperation and fearful tone of those posters who hate the possibility of a better America because it's inclusive and fair.

It's probably time to just move past these lost souls and move America forward.

Had America not had two years of complete obstruction on the part of the Republican Congress, the country would be far further along its' recovery. The Repubs clearly said they would do anything to block this president and to heck with what it did to the country. It was more important to defeat Obama than to care for this country and We The People.

It's past time American obstructed the Republicans and got the country moving by putting people into office who won't redistribute wealth into the hands of The Elites, and who don't care about the overwhelming majority of Americans.

After 2,000 years it has become abundantly apparent that God is made in man's image (of Him) and not the other way around, regardless of whether you believe in him or not. That's reality. Remember what John Lennon said, "if enough people believe in the same thing, then that's reality". It seems to many people in modern-day capitalist America that G.O.D. = Greenbacks Or Dollars.

Personally, I don't see all that much difference between Obama and Mitt. Yes, their policies on the surface are different but deep down in side they are both politicans who will look after themselves first and the people second as politicans truly are another species.

Obama inherited a bad legacy without a doubt from George Dubbelya and so may indeed deserve another four years. Personally, I've been disappointed about his lack of action towards a solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict - that should be one of the key issues to help root out terrorism but I guess the average American voter only cares about their own backyard.

The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," which, as far as I can tell, isn't what's happening. Not saying I'm in support of or against what the Democrats did, it actually seems kind of pointless to me (the whole concept of bringing religion into politics at all does). Also, G-d ordered the genocide of the Amelikites because they attacked Israel while they were on their way to Canaan, also, because He is the Supreme Being... He doesn't need justification, because if He really does exist, we are subservient to Him and His will. @Jaymann I'm sure you're already aware of this, but that was an incredibly rude and offensive statement.

He doesn't make budget decisions. And besides, Romney hasn't addressed how to reign in the debt any more than Obama has.

I didn't lie about anything, you just want to believe that Obama is NOT responsible for our $16T debt as of now, as The current sitting President, of course, it's his economy, high gas prices, 8.3% unemployment as of now since 2008, it's his, whether you want to accept it or not. Of course, congress makes the budget decisions, for the first 2 years, he and the Dems had "green light" all the way, total control, as for Romney, I really don't think you want to compare CV on that. Obama doesn't even come close to knowing how an economy functions, obviously.

The strangest part about all of this is that the Democrats could have just ignored the Republicans. Some battles are better left unfought and you'll only dirty yourself if you get involved.

By changing the platform halfway through the convention the Democrats have taken the wind out of their own sails and sent a lot of mixed messages. Who's idea was this anyway? It's not to say I don't find it hilarious but come on, the Dems could at least try to act in an organized fashion.

Personally, I will say a prayer that Obama will address on $16 T debt that he ran up and how he proposes to reign that in. He already tossed the debt clock out, changed the name of the stadium.

Religion doesn't belong in government, not a single mention of any deity. People's relationship with god/s should be built in their private time, if they want at all.

You cannot exclude religion and try to marginalize a very strong segment of the American population, be it Democratic and Conservative.

The "progressives" showed who they really are. The democrats adding God back into their platform was to cover their butts, but it was too late. The entire world got to see their Godless followers booing and hissing at the very mention of God. Remember when Jesus was being led to his death and had to carry his cross through the streets? It's important to realize the GOP is not a Christian party.

When you scratch deeper, you see they use their god like a an all-powerful Big Brother to push their hate-based agenda, much of which was formulated in Biblical times when women had no rights (note how; even today, conservatives would wish they could strip women of their rights, taking them back to a status silat to that which existed in Biblical times.)

Obama called for a return to the 1967 border the day before meeting with Netenyahu, and then abruptly walked out of a meeting with the Israeli leader...he is the weakest US president ever in terms of support for Israel. Another reason why Obama decided and came to this decision, Florida! 4% of the Floridians are Jewish and of course, if he wants Florida, he wants to corner this voting block!
