McConnell made a break with Trump, blaming the defeated president for having “provoked” the mob.

McConnell's a shape shifter. He needs to look at the roles his fellow Republican Senators Cruz and Hawley played in provoking Trump's mob.

He also needs to look at the roles his fellow Republican senators like L. Graham have played in enabling Trump and his followers.

McConnell needs to show he cares more about the country than he does about maintaining the wealth and power of the Republican Party. And his own bank account.

McConnell is is refusing to enter a power-sharing agreement with Senate Democrats unless they meet his demands, chiefly to preserve the Senate filibuster — the procedural tool often used by the minority party to block bills under rules that require 60 votes to advance legislation.

I've always been on the fence about removing this.

The good: People like McConnell won't be able to abuse the filibuster to block everything and turn the Senate into a legislative wasteland, which is his legacy.

The bad: Simple majorities means the majority can literally the ignore the other party, which leads to a reduction in compromise, which I don't support. On top of that, as majorities change, policies can vary wildly as the other party takes over and reverses everything the last party did, which leads to a substantial lack of stability and consistency. Long-term planning (especially for business) becomes impossible if everything can change every couple of years.

His wife and her family take care of their bank account. Old Turkey Neck doesn't have much wealth of his own. His wife is his fountain of wealth.

And Mitch "The Snake" McConnell plans his revenge for Trump losing him the Majority Leader's chair...

Will Mitch tell all the Repub Senators to defeat the impeachment and keep the Trump base? Or will be extract his vengeance and tell them vote for it?

If you know Mitch, you know that's an easy answer...
