To Republicans who oppose this: What are you afraid of?

Mueller Time is just beginning and we can expect another marathon popcorn session. By the time all Trump's legal woes are over the fatuous orange faker will be out of the Oval Office. Don't count on a 2020 reprise!

3 ( +12 / -9 )

This is going to disable trump for the rest of his presidency.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

Flog that dead horse!

2 ( +13 / -11 )

one big fat YAWN!

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

possible obstruction of justice, public corruption and abuses of power.

I can understand why the elite (US and 'foreign) who've become even richer and more powerful during his reign would continue to support him, but not anyone else, especially those who want to see the US Constitution upheld and the country maintained as a democratic republic.

Beyond issues of national security, what do Trump and his elite backers (in the US and 'abroad') want kept hidden? If the legislative and judicial branches are stonewalled by Trump and his backers, hopefully an inside whistleblower, perhaps someone in the free, for-profit media, will find ways to let the public know what the Mueller documents show.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Flog that dead horse!

As long as the report has not been released unredacted to Congress, the horse is not dead.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

not anyone else, especially those who want to see the US Constitution upheld and the country maintained as a democratic republic.

You are talking about the same people who paid for Russian disinformation to spy on an opposing presidential campaign and later used it to precipitate a coup against the president of the US. Those people want to uphold the US Constitution?

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

And your team stilfles freedom of speech, and is trying to create a dictatorship. You want to claim you give a damn about the US constitution whatsoever?

3 ( +8 / -5 )

As long as the report has not been released unredacted to Congress, the horse is not dead.

The Left is in shock that their hopes and dreams have been smashed now that the Special Council has failed to deliver the goods. Mueller came up empty. No collusion. It’s over. Hopefully in the next two months or so the tables will be turned and a new Special Counsel will be named and those bad actors in the Democrat party, the Obama Administration, and in the FBI will be brought to justice. Will the Left want that evidence made public?

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Go for it! Trump overturned to Barr and said, he should make the call, so if Barr and Mueller are going over it and they feel certain names, methods or possible Grand jury indictments need to be redacted, they’re going to do that. I remember when Nunes released the FISA report the Democrats were screaming how dare he divulge and make the records public, they tried everything to prevent him from doing that, the outrage and condemnation was fierce!

Ohhh, the liberal hypocrisy...lol.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

@wolfpack The Left is in shock that their hopes and dreams have been smashed now that the Special Council has failed to deliver the goods.

The 'goods' were delivered to Barr. Few other than Barr and those with direct access to the docs Mueller submitted know what all's included in them. It's probably way too early for Trump backers to assume he's free and clear. Except perhaps for those Trump backers who want to see an uber powerful exec.

Will the Left want that evidence made public?

I can't speak for the 'left' (which in Trump-Putin lingo means those who even question either of the two ultra-rightists). But speaking for myself, I definitely want ALL evidence, regardless who is 'outed', released. Any and all corruption in DC must be exposed.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

A firm belief in collusion. That's the democrat core value.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Barr said in the letter Friday that he is scrubbing the report to avoid disclosing any grand jury information or classified material, in addition to portions of the report that pertain to ongoing investigations or that "would unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties."

Hmm. Who might those "third parties" be? Does one end with "Jr"? Inquiring minds want to know.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

For those afflicted with incredible cognitive dissonance, if there truly was something to hide from the investigation results, why would Mueller and all involved remain silent? It's insane how eons ago summations such as these would be wreaked as conspiracy theories.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Hmm. Who might those "third parties" be? Does one end with "Jr"? Inquiring minds want to know.

Could be, but maybe not enough there to charge DTJ with a crime, which means no laws were broken, but it doesn’t matter, for me the most important thing is that liberals spend as much time on this as they possibly can and obsess on it non-stop, and with the lack of policies the Democrats have to offer or pass that all helps Trump in the end.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Hopefully in the next two months or so the tables will be turned and a new Special Counsel will be named and those bad actors in the Democrat party, the Obama Administration, and in the FBI will be brought to justice. Will the Left want that evidence made public?

Why did you get so upset over the democrats naming a special counsel to investigate trump if you would hope the Trump administration would in turn do it back? All you talked about for 2 years was the waste of tax dollars etc. Now you want to waste more? What if nothing turns up, you won't feel like you were completely wrong after? I think if the democrats are investigated, I'd want the information made public as well, regardless of the findings. Its more about transparency, and you more than anyone on here, is afraid of that...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

To Republicans who oppose this: What are you afraid of?

You must be another one of these people not aware that releasing the full report would involve violations of the 4th Amendment which may have already occurred during this witch hunt.

Mueller Time is just beginning

This is going to disable trump for the rest of his presidency

Yeah, right! haha

Democrats to prepare subpoenas for full Mueller report

A Legislative subpoena against the Executive branch: Toothless and laughable!

Absolute waste of time and taxpayers' money!

Start legislating already or seek therapy for your derangement, Nadler & co!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Trump won't mind. He said so.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Just sad.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Trump won't mind. He said so.

That's because he doesn't have anything to hide concerning collusion/obstruction. He's not seeking the full release of the report.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

The Left is in shock that their hopes and dreams have been smashed now that the Special Council has failed to deliver the goods. Mueller came up empty.

you got all that from a 4 page summary from a 300 page report stated by a man whos a Trump supporter. LOL. the report also states that it doesnt exonerate Trump entirely, if Republicans are so sure the report is empty then there should be no reason for it not be released and nothing to fear. The AMerican publican can easily summarise the report for themselves or do republicans think they dont have enough intellegence for that

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Absolute waste of time and taxpayers' money!

you mean like Trumps shut down, or Trumps $trillion tax cut expected to cost 1.5trillion over the next ten yrs, or even Trumps golf vacations which have cost far more than Muellers report which has actually netted the tax payer a profit. that type a waste of money!?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

kabukideath: A firm belief in collusion. That's the democrat core value.

I can see why the bubble set you up for that. From the beginning I said Trump would walk from collusion charges, too hard to prove. Now Trump fans are saying "No collusion" like "no carjacking." Great, but your guy is still scum. Clearing him of collusion doesn't negate his racism, bigotry, and useless status on the world stage.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

"[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

That sentence, which appears in the Barr summary, is a direct quote from the Mueller report.

Again, that is a sentence taken directly and verbatim from Mueller's report.

They are not Barr's paraphrased words. They are Mueller's direct words.

So, Trump-haters, let's drop this already.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Waste of money?

Trump has called for an investigation into the investigation.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

"[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

True. But notice that the [t] is lowercase. This indicates a clause or phrase preceding. Aren't you curious to know what it says? Is it a "but" or an "and"? And what about the underlying evidence? Congress has a right to know.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The bigger question is if there are indeed things in the report that confirms obstruction or collusion by Orange Man Bad or any of those in his orbit, why hasn't Mueller or any one of his merry band of anti-Trump lawyers not done the rounds on all the Fake News outlets to tell what few remaining zombie-like walking dead readers/viewers they have, "No, no, we DID uncover impeachable crimes." Their silence speaks volumes.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

The bigger question is if there are indeed things in the report that confirms obstruction or collusion by Orange Man Bad or any of those in his orbit

Barr's summary says that Mueller's report calls for no new indictments.

And if Barr is lying about that, why wouldn't Mueller have spoken up to correct the record by now?

This idea being pushed by people that Barr and/or Trump are somehow "hiding something" is absurd.

Although I know it serves certain politically motivated people's wishful thinking.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

merry band of anti-Trump lawyers

Who told you they were anti-Trump?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Mueller or any one of his merry band of anti-Trump lawyers not done the rounds on all the Fake News outlets to tell what few remaining zombie-like walking dead readers/viewers they have, "No, no, we DID uncover impeachable crimes." Their silence speaks volumes.

Mueller is a republican who probably voted for Trump. He also probably doesn't want to commit a crime? Why do you think he would? Why would he go around illegaly leaking info to Fox and CNN, Brietbart and the Drudge report?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

This idea being pushed by people that Barr and/or Trump are somehow "hiding something" is absurd.

Why is it absurd? Why won't Trump release his taxes? Why doesn't Barr want to show the report? Do you not want to see the report? You paid for it. Do you purchase tickets and fail to show up to the theater? Do you buy books and not read them?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

This idea being pushed by people that Barr and/or Trump are somehow "hiding something" is absurd.

Nah, the dems and member of their propaganda wing, the DNC-controlled Media Industrial Complex, spent the past 21-months assuring Americans that their living God, Mueller, had the goods on Orange Man Bad and sooner than later he would be wearing a prison jump suit to match his skin color. Now that that promise has blown up in their faces, they must gin up something . . . anything to convince the conspiracy theory tin foil hat constitutes within their voting base to stick with them.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

This idea being pushed by people that Barr and/or Trump are somehow "hiding something" is absurd.

Only if you're covering for your boy.

The idea that we're going to be happy with Trump's plant saying 'I read the report, nothing to see, carry on' is ridiculous.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It's frighteningly magnificent watching logic and common sense being kicked out the door and replaced with earth shattering cognitive dissonance. Incredible!!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Trump has called for an investigation into the investigation.

Yes, but here is the catch, we should investigate the House Democrats, Adam Spliff, Nadler and Sawtale and find out with the unredacted release of the FISA warrant and how it all started and who was responsible.

Mueller is a republican

Debbie Wassermann Schultz is a Democrat and she completely sabotaged and destroyed Bernie Sanders chances of trying to get into the White House, so it really doesn’t mean anything that Mueller is a Republican.

who probably voted for Trump.

I don’t think so.

He also probably doesn't want to commit a crime? Why do you think he would?

FBI, Hoover, files on people, flimsy arrest warrants and although I respect the FBI, it doesn’t mean they are an untarnished organization that have done questionable things.

Why would he go around illegaly leaking info to Fox and CNN, Brietbart and the Drudge report?

As mich as I dislike the man, he didn’t leak anything, he’s not Comey.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Interesting how Mueller has gone from a pariah to a saint in a matter of days, this despite any lack of info - all we have is a truncated Mueller sentence the recently appointed Barr prepared. Even Trumpsters don't know how to react: at a recent Trump rally, they were confused as to whether cheer or boo when Trump brought up Mueller.

Wait for the data - for example, what is the definition of "peripheral individuals," and why would they be redacted? All else is premature.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Interesting how Mueller has gone from a pariah to a saint in a matter of days, this despite any lack of info

And we'll see just how fast they switch back to making him a pariah when we finally do get to see the contents. They may even be pretty much exactly as Barr has represented, and yet still be entirely damning about Trump.

That's why I suspect Trump and co are trying to stifle the report. Even if it doesn't recommend charges, it's going to lay out the truth about Trump, and that's something Trump doesn't want people to see.

The AG needs to ignor any and all subpoenas from the democrats. There is nothing in the regulations where the one branch of our government (Judicial) is forced to adhere to anything from another branch of our government (Legislative); aka, the Separation of Powers provision.

AG Barr needs to tell them to go pound sand. If the democrats are sooo intent on that seeing "everything" connected to the report totally unredacted and to include -- but not limited to -- all Grand Jury testimonies, have them file a legal motion and let that motion wind its way through the courts where the Supreme Court will eventually render a ruling (probably in a year two) on this issue.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Correction to the 5:15 post: AG Barr represents the Executive Branch, not Judicial.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I've seen toddlers that have more emotional fortitude than these Democratic crybabies.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Two year investigation and they cant find a thing, so lets "flog the dead horse" in the desperate hope there might the tiniest bit of dirt the Democrats and their supporters might be able to use to create another false drama - All this because their pet favourite lost the election back 2016.

Its not to late to get on a Trump 2020 win, Ladbrokes are offering $2.38 thats come down $0.30, not surprising with all the dud Democrats candidates putting their hands up.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

There is nothing in the regulations where the one branch of our government (Judicial) is forced to adhere to anything from another branch of our government (Legislative); aka, the Separation of Powers provision.

But you know what? There is! It's called Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e). This is the basis the D.C. Circuit used when affirmIng in 1974, in Haldeman v. Sirica, that Nixon must surrender to the House Judiciary Committee results of Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski's report on Nixon. Precedent has that such reports may be redacted for general consumption, but not only an unredacted report but the underlying evidence must be turned over to the House Judiciary Committee, or "Gang of Eight," as the bipartisan group is known. They then have statutory ability to determine how much to release to the public.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

But you know what? There is! It's called Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e).

The huge difference here is that there is no underlying crime or any evidence of a crime.

Again, a laughable subpoena by the deranged. No teeth or hope of enforcement. Complete waste of time.

Now, on the other hand, there is ample evidence that crimes were committed in this witch hunt and ill-conceived coup d'etat to try to unseat a duly-elected president. Those perps should be brought to justice, from top to bottom.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The huge difference here is that there is no underlying crime or any evidence of a crime.

Say what?

Whether or not a crime has been committed and what evidence exists to indicate that it did or did not happen is exactly what an investigation does. It investigates.

Now let's go back and look at what we're talking about:

This is the basis the D.C. Circuit used when affirmIng in 1974, in Haldeman v. Sirica, that Nixon must surrender to the House Judiciary Committee results of Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski's report on Nixon.

The report on Nixon was required to be submitted unredacted to the House Judiciary Committee. Just as the report on Trump must be submitted unredacted to the current House Judiciary Committee.

And remember, these are people who have been elected by the American public to represent them, to be their eyes and ears. They are people with top secret clearance. There is zero reason to redact anything in the report for their eyes. For the general public, there almost definitely is stuff that needs to be redacted. But not for the House Judiciary Committee.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

And we'll see just how fast they switch back to making him a pariah when we finally do get to see the contents. They may even be pretty much exactly as Barr has represented, and yet still be entirely damning about Trump.

So damning, it might be funnier to see every liberals face when it’s another nothing burger.

That's why I suspect Trump and co are trying to stifle the report.

If so, Trump wouldn’t have given Barr the green light to release it.

Even if it doesn't recommend charges, it's going to lay out the truth about Trump, and that's something Trump doesn't want people to see.

It won’t matter because there won’t be anything shocking of new newsworthiness. Liberals are setting themselves up for yet another falll.....again.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

@Miyam,

You are correct. Unlike the investigations in the 1970s and 1990s, Mueller was never tasked to search for a crime. As such, 6(e) is not pertinent. To call what he did an "investigation" is a misnomer. He should have looked into what had happened in the run up to November 2016 on both sides. He never did. His witch hunt was designed entirely to connect the President with either collusion (which is not a crime in this sense) or obstruction. He and his conga line of anti-Trump lawyers didn't find any because none existed (at least not on President Trump's side).

And just like on Election Night, the democrats have once again rolled snake eyes. So, now they pivot by making demands to see everything (legal and otherwise) tied to the report. AG Barr has the discretion to do so only if he wants to. He is not legally bound to honor/recognize any democrat-generated temper tantrum subpoenas

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Ha ha! Bass, Trump said he "wouldn't mind" if Barr released the report despite having the power to order it released. Reminder: Trump also promised to release his taxes. Looks like both will have to come by the power of subpoena. I'm sure Trump won't mind.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If so, Trump wouldn’t have given Barr the green light to release it.

He hasn't, or it would be released.

They're delaying now. Trying to find any excuse they can to not release the report, or if they have to, to redact every last word that they can. And probably more, by a ridiculous amount.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Ha ha! Bass, Trump said he "wouldn't mind" if Barr released the report despite having the power to order it released.

He does have the power, that’s why Trump said to him, he’ll let him decide what he wants to do, can’t be more transparent than that. But you can tell, most liberals don’t understand the process, Barr can’t just release everything just with the snap of his fingers, the Democrats know this, every single person that’s a lawyer and law official knows this.

Reminder: Trump also promised to release his taxes.

Oh, dear lord....

Different story, forget about the taxes, looks like you’re not going to get that, as much as you’re not going to see a noose around the Presidents neck.

Looks like both will have to come by the power of subpoena. I'm sure Trump won't mind.

They can try. Lol

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Interesting that the same exact Nadler guy who wants it all released knew when the Starr report against Bill Clinton came out exactly why some things can’t and won’t be released.

He was against releasing that report to the public and also knew that it takes weeks to review and scrub it. Now conveniently he has forgotten all that.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Blah, blah, blah, liberal, blah, blah, blah, Trump is great, blah, blah, blah. Broken record with zero substance.

Trump is the boss. If he truly has nothing to hide, he'd order the full report be tweeted out.

Hiding behind Barr is ridiculous given Trump has freely handed out classified info to our foes and forcing security clearances to be given to 25 people that are risks to our national security.)

You sure are digging way into the last to find something to both about. That demonstrates that you have zero valid arguments why the report shouldn't be released.
