Certainly not in Japan, nor where I live in NZ, or anywhere I know of for that matter.

Denmark is right. Still has 40000 cases, 20 deaths a day for 60% of the population boostered.

It means that they will treat it like the flu - accept that every year, many will get sick, and a small proportion of those will be hospitalized. Good to see logic prevail.

Congratulations on embracing vaccines, Danes! Over 60 percent 3rd dose - and rising fast - shows Danes sure do believe in the science.

I thought England did at least (Scotland, N Ireland and Wales still have some restrictions)

Denmark on Tuesday becomes the first European Union country to lift all of its COVID restrictions despite record numbers of cases, relying on its high vaccination rate to cope with the milder Omicron variant.

A high vaccination rate, an educated and sensible population is what Denmark has going for it.

There are risks in opening up when the infections rates are high, it’s a gamble but for the sake of the Danish people I hope it pays off.

Some good sense here, in direct opposition to the madness in Austria.

It seems many from the pro vax camp are somewhat disappointed omicron is mild because it casts a shadow of doubt over who takes the glory as the pandemic winds up.

There are thousands of deaths daily from Omicron. But one of the reasons that it’s mild is that people are vaccinated.

A well informed and well-educated country without the far-right nuts and anti-vaxers who pollute the airwaves and con people out of their money and their lives.

People who don't want the vaccine understand the risks on both ends of the equation....

if they understand the risk, why do many of them beg for a nurse to vaccinate them just before being intubated, not understanding it's too late for that?.

Last summer the UK also lifted the restrictions since the vaccination rate was great... well, we all see how it ended up when the virus mutates too much. Denmark, on it's highest incidence rate ever, basically surrendered and hopes, that there will be no further, more dangerous variant after Omicron.

No, they honestly cannot - it's quite unbelievable but it seems they truly cannot even when it's staring them in the face.

Nevermind that Covid is all over Japan and that stopping the virus is no longer feasible.

The government still keeps up the pretense that the ‘fear’ of infectious diseases is still from the outside.

With a population of 5.5 million, they are having up to 50,000 new covid cases per day, or about 1% of their population. That is a rate of infection that is even worse than in the States. So what they are saying is that those who choose to be unprotected, or who have weak immune systems, are on their own, except for help from their socialized medical system.

And this is certainly good news, right? Another vindication that Operation Warp Speed was a fabulous success and created vaccines that are "medical miracles" according to one former President...who has urged all his supporters to get vaxed and boosted...

Its definitely risky. Demark has decided to be Guinea pig for the whole world. Hopefully they can keep their kids population safe, I mean without any side/long term effects. We'll see.

Thats like thanking the iceberg for a successful crossing of the Atlantic. And entirely predictable that the fanatics would actually call this a success for the vaccines. Its the opposite.

Denmark is currently going through the highest rate of infections of any country - ever. Along with Israel who are onto their 4th shot. 

Deaths in Denmark are also at their highest than at any other point except for a few weeks last January and the rise shows no signs of stopping. 

The Danes have learned their lesson. The only difference is their leaders can admit they were wrong.
