Heartless.

What an idiot! He is like a Trump in waiting!
Palestinians are also semitic. Hating Palestinians (any religious denomination), Muslims, or Arabs is anti-semitic!
dagon
By that logic of DeSantis those that voted for the toxic culture of MAGA and the GOP in elections should also be held collectively responsible. And barred from further participation in the political process.
And as has been pointed out, Palestinians are Semites too and hate crimes are already being committed against them too.
wallace
Trump said something about Muslims and introduced a travel ban.
Desert Tortoise
Seems like he is making a speech about a non problem. I am not aware of any proposal to absorb refugees from Gaza in the US, and the Gazans themselves worry most about being displaced from Gaza and never being allowed to return. Ron Desantis, one of that rare species with vocal cords in his rectum.

Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!*
*Offer does not apply to Palestinians

White Spiteful people like Desantis wonder, why they are despised ,they are the racist bottom feeders
Bob Fosse
Only ignored triggered narcissists have to resort to shock value to get attention. More fading star than ‘rock star’. Bye ron

DeSantis though an Ivy League elitist is trying to appeal to his poorly educated Republican base, he clearlky does not know the dictionary definition of 'Semite" : a member of any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language, including in particular the Jews and Arabs.

Trump said something about Muslims and introduced a travel ban.
So did biden. So what's your point?
bass4funk
Hamas is, I couldn’t agree more.
See, this is the typical lib response to every problem they create, it’s not a problem and then later it’s a huge problem, so huge it just can’t be contained.
Given the fact that this administration has allowed millions of un-vetted illegals into this country and still coming, we have millions of people we know nothing, absolutely nothing about. So it’s plausible to think that this administration could decide to do the same thing and let in hundreds of American-Jewish hating Palestinians in. Now are all of them violent American-Jewish hating Jihadists? Of course not, but given this administrations stance on immigration and illegals they would just allow more people from everywhere and we have no idea as to where they’re from or who they are.
This is the consequence for voting for a radical jihadist group to represent an entire community, a community who in most part wants the Jews to leave their homeland or wants them dead.
Good, because he’s serious to the deepest core of his soul.

"President Biden signed an executive order to reverse what's been called the Muslim ban, signed by former President Trump, that banned travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. Mar 6, 2021"
Bob Fosse
He can be ‘serious’ all he likes. He’s going nowhere. Only his empty headed supporters think otherwise.
Bob Fosse
Bad hombres? Bogeyman for idiots.
Bob Fosse
If ‘American-Jewish hating Palestinians’ want to enter the U.S. they can do it already. Going to put a new checkbox question on the boarding cards?
bass4funk
To people that don’t care about immigration, but since it will be a serious issue next year, I would vehemently disagree.

Yes, that really helps Trump and the GOP, go ahead. Seriously.
https://www.politico.com/news/2023/09/27/dems-migrant-crisis-biden-00118001
Bob Fosse
But I thought you wanted to stop them entering. Make your mind up.
bass4funk
Not just me, but yes.
It is, and we know this administration could care less what the majority of the nation thinks or wants, so yes, it helps Trump, ( DeSantis as well )and the GOP.
Blacklabel
Better story would be: DeSantis says U.S. shouldn't take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza.
could have stopped right there- doesn’t need any further explaining.
Bob Fosse
How are you going to stop ‘American-Jewish hating Palestinians’ from entering the US? Will there be some kind of questionnaire at the gate?
Blacklabel
So the leftists and leftist sympathizers here think the USA should take in Palestinian refugees based on a 150 year old poem?
Really?
Wick's pencil
The presidential candidates are trying to outdo each other in their support for Israel. Pathetic!
bass4funk
Sigh, I just said, you probably can’t or won’t, but that helps Trump and the GOP
Preferably a background check.
Blacklabel
If you don’t let people just walk into your country like Biden there are things called visa applications.
that have interviews and investigations associated.
GillislowTier
Why do any news outlets give this moron a platform. If he said his poop is purple and sparkly they would write a 6 page article on it?
plasticmonkey
"they"
Elections were held in 2006 and haven't been held since. A very small minority of Gazans alive today voted for Hamas. Collective punishment is wrong, no matter what your emotions are at the moment.
De Santis is just a heartless jerk.
You know this as a fact?
Ergo, collective punishment good. Me like very much (grunt grunt).
Bob Fosse
So, why are you getting all riled up again?
Bob Fosse
“Are you a bad hombre?”
Nakam
How many Arab countries have offered to take in Palestinian Arab refugees?
bass4funk
We knew what Hamas was before the Gazans voted for them, that was a given, they voted for them, they were warned that it could have a blowback effect and here we are.
Yes, and?
Well, as sad as that statement is, the Israelis will do their best to avoid civilian casualties, but Hamas brought this on themselves and the Israelis will put them out of commission once and for all
I think he’s spot on.
Look at the flag, you can’t claim something that was never yours to begin with. The two-state solution is just a dream now, Israel won’t and should never allow it to happen.
Don't like to get punched in the face, then don’t touch me or my kin.
I’m not. Just calling it for what it is.
No, but I’m also not part of a group that wants to hurt or kill Jews, or Americans.
Thank you.
itsonlyrocknroll
If Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis felt compelled to make such potent statement at least tone down, suggesting the potential for provoking antisemitic sentiment.
Wait until the Government of Israel anticipated ground invasion.
The potential humanitarian crisis unfolding could need careful political maneuvering in the coming days and weeks.
Nakam
Can you provide a link from your dictionary to the definition of antisemitism?
Blacklabel
No, an actual investigation, unserious person.
like as an example every Japanese woman who marries an American and wants a visa does. The one that takes 6 months- 1 year to get where they check the entire background.
cant do that for terrorist countries but can do it for US military wives?
Jimizo
That’s not collective punishment.
Collective punishment would be punching the assailant’s family members and neighbours in the faces.
Would you do that?
yamada1043
The hypocrisy of it all!
bass4funk
Then don’t punch me, my family, my neighbors in the face first then you don’t have to worry about reprisals.
Sanjinosebleed
What a horrible human being. Who in their right mind would want to live in the US with bigots like this loser running or trying to run the country??
plasticmonkey
Evading the question. It's just the usual whataboutism.
bass4funk
About rough estimates 3-5 million this year alone and from now around 160 countries.
I didn’t, I wouldn’t, not my style
wallace
If someone attacks you and then you attack every member of the attacker's family you will be arrested.
itsonlyrocknroll
Whatever Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sentiments, Hamas is totally responsible for the continued plight of the Palestinian people, its nation, the hideous inhuman atrocities and slaughter and finally hostage taking of defenseless Israeli men women, children and yes infants/togglers.
What in heaven name god sanctions/condones into faith/worship such atrocities
Algernon LaCroix
He's right, of course. That's why the socialists are screeching so loudly.
Jimizo
Yep.
Making a case for collective punishment is very tough.
Not surprising that nobody has attempted it here yet.
yipyip
Well said.
And simply put, anyone who supports Hamas is antisemitic.
Fighto!
Dwarf De Sanctimonious attempting to stay relevant.
plasticmonkey
I guess Nikki Haley is a socialist then.
The real world is not divided into such cartoonishly simple dichotomies.
bass4funk
I said, me and my family. Please don’t distort what I was trying to convey.
If you can’t read I would understand that, but since you all can, it means either you are being lazy or you just want to ignore the facts I put forward.
Trying to ignore reality doesn’t help your argument at all, should be surprised, but I’m not.
Jimizo
Eh?
I just asked if anyone wants to make the case for collective punishment.
I find the idea disgraceful.
If you want to make a case for it, go ahead.
plasticmonkey
What facts?
Nakam
Hamas and its supporters made a case for it last week with its massacre of civilians, so I found that as disgraceful as you do.
bass4funk
The facts that are always lacking in liberal debates.
I did, I’m sorry if it was more to the point and less belaboring, I try to shorten them, no need for garrulous banter.
plasticmonkey
@bass
Do you agree with Lindsey Graham’s statement about Gaza, that Israel should “level the place”?
Blacklabel
the millions of people illegally crossing our border.
They don’t seem to see the “bigotry” that you claim is prevalent (but supposedly only on one political side, right?)
plasticmonkey
Evasion after evasion.
Jimizo
I agree. It was disgraceful.
Do you think collective punishment is justified as a response?
No, you did not. I scrolled up.

This is a world of instant horror, given a life of its own with the aid of social media, all for better or worse.
The freedom loving, human rights advocating democracies, that prides themselves on restraint, even when faced with extreme hatred.
Peace loving peoples recoiling in disgust of harsh retaliation when presented a truth of finally having to witness Israel peoples desperation.
All illusions of any shroud restraint melting away, as Hamas refusal to free the hostages or let the Palestinian nation free of being held up as human shields.
What is left other than the terror of right now.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran have played this with the skill of an enemy in full knowledge of a freedom loving democracies Achilles heel. humanity conscience, of its people to call for appeasement when faced with huge casualties loss of life of a people trapped between a rock and a hard place.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran have taken advantage, all the global protests, to beat us collectively into submission.
Jimizo
Bass, you don’t understand the question.
Let’s not bother taking this any further.
opheliajadefeldt
Coming from a fascist, racist, mediocre IQ idiot these remarks can just be brushed aside...........like he will be in 2024.
Jimizo
He’s not an idiot.
He knows what appeals to certain types who are often idiots.
Important distinction.
Nakam
I do think collective punishment is justified if the an act engaged in by Israel does not amount to intentionally seeking out and killing civilians, and instead is an act such as cutting off water or whatever to the Palestinians in Gaza.
So, for me, the feeling of disgust for what Hamas did, and for Israel pulling the plug on electricity are of vastly differing degrees.
I also agree with Israel's Energy Minister who said no electricity, water, or fuel until the hostages are returned home.
Further he said, "And no one will preach us morals."
