Does anyone with half a brain really give any weight to what he has to say these days on any matter pertaining to covid-19?  He has been wrong every step of the way.  Just do the opposite of what ever he says and your chances of avoiding Covid rise incrementally.

And when the virus mutates to infect more younger students and students start to die. trump will deny it is his fault and try to distract with another culture war reference.

“We want to reopen the schools. Everybody wants it. The moms want it, the dads want it, the kids want it. It's time to do it,” Trump said at a White House event. "We're very much gong to put pressure on governors and everybody else to open the schools.”

This statement is not about what is best for children. It is about what is perceived to be best for the economy--schools opening to allow parents to return to work without their employers needing to do anything to solve the childcare issues in this country.   

Be ready for older teachers to retire in large numbers.

Wait until all those students return to school and flu season starts! I am not sure who will suffer more the students or the teachers because the virus will most definitely mutate and become more aggressive with all those nice young students to infect.

Late last year it looked like Trump had a fighting chance of being re-elected as president, but now everything is falling apart. Had he been more of a leader and made the tough decisions early on, he may have still had a chance. But now? He's clearly failed as president in how he's handled his first major crisis since becoming president.

And by the way, what about high schoolers who need a lab component? What about nerds like me who took advanced placement bio who really looked foward to cutting open a dead frog for dissection?

The Democrats are now basically saying screw lab science, field trips and gym class. What are you going to do, make little Jimmy do push-ups on the floor while his teacher watches to make sure he's not just sitting there watching Netflix?

Most parents want their kids to go back to school, but not surprising, the teachers union doesn’t want the kids to go back. Not like they do their jobs well, but they know they’ll get paid regardless, so if they can keep the kids home until next year, why would these teachers care? This is what happens when you go to a public school, you won’t learn anything, but you can at least claim you’re a good teacher.
