Russian criticism? What do our MAGA friends think about Lindsey going over to Ukraine and pleading for more money and military aide?

Just like McCarthy, Lindsey switches from RINO-scum to MAGA-hero each week...

Flip-flop, flip-flop...

As those of us who live here have been saying, US support for Ukraine's resistance to the Russian invasion is strong and is only getting stronger. The support is bipartisan as well, with only some hard-core MAGA and Nazi types objecting.

(Graham) *described the help as "the best money we've ever spent".*

You've got that right! Just 5% of the U.S. national defense budget went to helping Ukraine last year. The Russian military has been hammered and is against the ropes, Ukraine is going to take back much of what Russia stole and to top things off, the U.S. is training the Ukrainians to be one of the toughest countries in that region of the world and . . . and they're going to become a full fledged member of the NATO!

What a bargain!

12 ( +13 / -1 )

That's great and all, but how about telling that to 45 and DeSantis?

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Probably the only time I've agreed with Lindsay Graham in the last ten years. We used to say that one awshucks (we had a saltier term) cancels all attaboys but sorry Lindsay one attaboy does not even begin to compensate for the last decade of what came out of your pie hole. Still what he said needed to be said.

What a bargain!

Stopping Russia in Ukraine is a bargain compared to the cost of not stopping Russia there because Russia's next targets are NATO allies Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and probably and Uzbekistan, all of which like Ukraine Mr. Putin and the adherents of Russiya Mir consider to be illegitimate countries that should be part of Russia and on top of that they accuse Kazakhstan of conducting genocide against ethnic Russians. Why? Because the young who have grown up in an independent Kazakhstan no longer speak Russian and do not identify with Russia as their parents did, they identify as Kazakhs.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham disputed Russian criticism of his support for Ukraine on Sunday, saying he had simply praised the spirit of Ukrainians in resisting a Russian invasion with assistance provided by Washington.

Graham, shown in a video clip of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Friday, acknowledged his host's praise for military assistance valued at $38 billion since the outset of the conflict in February 2022.

He described the help as "the best money we've ever spent".

Well Lindsey, how do you square those remarks with your support to the guy that called Putin a "genius"?

Or that takes Moscow's side in the war?

Or that tried to withhold military aid unless a bogus political investigation was launched?

Does devotion to the MAGA-cult "trump" your position on support to Ukraine?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Yeah, I don’t know how Sen Graham manages to square his two mutually exclusive positions. He’s a foreign policy hawk trying to be part of a movement that doesn’t see anything other than China as America’s problem.

The problem is the MAGAots revere Vladimir Putin's Russia. It is their ideal of a arch conservative white aryan "christian" (pardon me while I gag) nation that suppresses ethnic, religious, and other minorities they also dislike. There is also a strain among both conservative catholics and evangelicals who believe fervently that voting is against god's will and thus "rebellion against god". There is an extensive catholic literature on this subject but it is also taught by college christian groups.

Well there we have it...

MAGA-hero Lindsey Graham who plays golf with the Ultra MAGA King and grovels at MAL at every opportunity....is now branded an idiot....

Fear not Lindsey...In MAGA-world you can go from hero to scum in one day, and back the next...

Minus all the garrulous diatribe, yes.

Freedom allows you to do that

seems like a good time to remind you that freedom and dominionism are antonyms.

Ok

There’s a wonderful long form journalistic piece in the Bulwark talking about the transformation of Lindsey in the Trump years as an allegory for how people loss their moral pillars in the face of a dictatorship.

“The Corruption of Lindsey Graham” a great read that i am still in the middle of.

Basically, Lindsey thought he was playing Trump and bent on a few things moral beliefs to get in his orbit, then a few more to stay in his orbit. Little did he realize that he was the one getting played and before you knew it, Lindsey was unrecognizable from the 1.0 iteration.

If he is talking like this (he is) it’s because he thinks that Trump is Toast (he is), and is trying to regain his foreign policy wonk status.

I’m glad if two things and sure of one:

I’m glad Lindsey rediscovered objective reality.

And I’m glad that John McCain is dead so he never saw what a sniveling nihilist he became in the first place.

And I’m sure that Lindsey will never be a voice of moral authority again

Got it - it's on the record - today Lindsey is an "idiot"....until next week when he's a MAGA-hero...

Fear not Lindsey...In MAGA-world you can go from hero to scum in one day, and back the next...

Freedom allows you to do that

Indeed - freedom to hypocritically contradict yourself making you look foolish...

He can be both

I would vehemently disagree

Hearing that laughable hypocritical remark is just way too funny

Says the devotee of a narcissistic sociopath. The payer for abortions who is now against them. The man who couldn’t imagine defaulting as president who now is in favor and says it’s because he’s not president anymore.

The “values” voter who supports the horn-dog on his 3rd wife but pays a porn star. And he’s your boi, eh?

Moral relativism, B.

What?

The “values” voter who supports the horn-dog on his 3rd wife but pays a porn star.

He can support anyone he wants, not mine concern as I do.

And he’s your boi, eh?

I like Lindsey doesn’t mean that I won’t criticize the guy from time to time.

Mr. Graham was exactly right when he said he expected Ukraine to continue fighting Russia until there are no more Ukrainians left to fight.

Rather depressing, why not try to do a peace deal, as 50% of life better than 100% of extinction, right?

Depends. If you are enslaved, quite possibly not. Particularly when you have the opportunity to do some damage to the slavers.

He never saw a war he didn't like. 'Russians are dying', he says, as he licks his lips with glee. What a vile statement. The purpose of war is not killing the enemy, but to force them to stop fighting. The fewer people who die, the better.

Russians seem to be good at drinking and dying in combat.

I have a wonderful idea for all of the Russia fans: The Russians pack of their kit and go home and go back to drinking. Nobody is going to kill them if they are home drinking.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Boo hoo the Russian fascists are the biggest victims out there. Their invasion has failed and their armed forces an international laughing stock.

More humiliation to come.

Kurumazaka, sorry, here is your quote. It's said by Desert Tortoise

there because Russia's next targets are NATO allies Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and probably and Uzbekistan, like Ukraine Mr. Putin and the adherents of Russiya Mir

Evidently you don't read the messages like me

Kerumazaka, with all my respect to you from Moscow:)

What Graham said was: "and the Russians are Dying, the best money we've ever spent."

I hope he realizes that that "well spent money" caused a much higher number of Ukrainian deaths...

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Yeah, i tried to explain that to certain people yesterday that for "Russians to die" also requires Ukrainians to die in equal or higher numbers.

They didnt seem to care, just want to monger that war some more.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Russians are dying for the deranged fantasies of their pygmy dictator.

Every single dead human being in this conflict is on Tziny Putin. May this demise be televised, and soon....

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Got it - it's on the record - today Lindsey is an "idiot"....until next week when he's a MAGA-hero...

He can be both

They tend to roll together.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

And Ukrainians are definitely dying in fewer numbers because they’d have fought with or without our help. Now that they can resist and eventually push out the Russians, it means fewer soldiers dying. Fewer old women shot in the streets. Fewer women raped and murdered.

Graham is right and fascist fan boys are wrong.

Posting diarrhea again black?

More embarrassment to come for Russia"s propagandists.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

On the relevant side at least the media finally gave up that Russia didn’t take Bakhmut.

The months-long siege of Bakhmut may have been a costly battlefield victory for the Wagner Group, but the private military company’s founder, Yevgeny Prigozhin, scored a major political win by capturing the city.
