It's a great point by China that China is happy to import more high tech items to help balance out trade. Next move, EU.

For Chinese perspective : Russia is defending herself from NATO eastward expansion, they have rights of self defense of retaliation against Kyiv, the ungrateful and renegade regieme. Just like Israel has rights to retaliation on Hamas. This is not China's wrong but the European double standards, why they keep mute over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza of the Palestinians?

You know what propels me kicking and gnawing the furniture?
It Is Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel rather ridiculous notion that EU commission has political influence to compel Chinese President Xi Jinping to respect any notion of a trading relationship that recognizes or respects global rules of trade or regulation.
Here is the evidence.......
Italy became the first G7 country to sign on to the initiative in 2019, when the government at the time promoted it as a way of increasing trade with China while getting investments in major infrastructure projects.
Neither outcome materialized. In the intervening years, Italy’s trade deficit with China has ballooned from 20 billion euros to 48 billion euros ($21.5 billion to $51.8 billion.)
For gods sake wake up.....

elephant200 - very good point. The Chinese certainly have a different, refreshing perspective.
Change Ukraine to Palestine and Russia to Israel. Both have the right to self defense.
This logic goes further with both having contested territories and annexation.

We know which way the tanks were going on Feb. 24, 2022 and that there was no threat to Russia prior to that.
Russia doesn't own the territory of Ukraine. That much is clear.
TaiwanIsNotChina
I assume we will not hear one peep from you about Israel's war crimes then, since you are convinced of the parallel. The logic does not go further, though, as Ukraine's legal borders are 100% clear and they include Novorossiya as part of Ukraine.
JJE
Both moved to cutoff the threats at the pass before they could fully establish themselves.
Both have annexed territory.
A key difference is the war crimes; one side is exaggerated for the ICC and the other diabolical but doesn't get the ICC.
Back to parallels - both had borders set; 1991 versus 1948 and 1967. Evidently these can change in both cases.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Nobody believes democracy is a threat to Russia.
Glad you are going all in on this analogy. So when will the annexed territory Russia holds be returned?
The both belong before the ICC. Stick with the analogy.
Israel's borders with some sort of Palestine weren't set in those years but thank you for playing. You should focus on why Russia couldn't stick within its borders which were internationally agreed.
wallace
Russia is the threat to democracy.
JJE
Both faced countries with unstable, unpredictable coup governments prone to violence on their borders.
Both will not return annexed land (of countries next door).
The 1991 UN borders stand parallel to the 1967 UN resolution that recognized Palestinian land borders. Both were "internationally agreed".
TaiwanIsNotChina
Yeah, Russia is kind of an unstable, unpredictable coup government prone to violence on its border.
A clearly criminal act.
Syria does not recognize Israel, which is pretty clearly not making peace as required in the resolution. The borders with Palestine are subject to mutually agreed upon swaps. Clearly inferior to the Belovezha Accords and the Budapest Memorandum.

Italy became the first G7 country to sign on to the initiative in 2019, when the government at the time promoted it as a way of increasing trade with China while getting investments in major infrastructure projects.
The Italians were lazy and uncooperative and refused to learn Chinese language or culture to adopt in Chinese.
SO why blame China for yourself don't doing your homework ?
Absurd statement !

Funny how the guy who insists that what is internationally recognized as Chinese territory isn't part of China reversing himself to complain about the illegality of the Crimea and Donbass population choosing to abandon the coup installed Kiev regime after it attacked them, and the legality of the Israeli regime's annexation AGAINST THE WILL OF THE POPULATION, ever more of Palestine.
