President Donald Trump also appointed Jackson as acting president of the U.S. Institute for Peace.

This is illegal, as is the using FBI and police by DOGE to force themselves into the building.

No, it's not.

The President-elect enjoys the right to appoint.

Sure. With the confirmation of the Senate.

I didn't see any Senate confirmation.

So, illegal.

A senior official at Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is taking a leadership role at the U.S. Agency for International Development, giving DOGE direct authority over an agency that it has worked to dismantle, according to an email obtained by The Associated Press.

The ruling came in a lawsuit filed by USAID employees and contractors, who argued that Musk and DOGE are wielding power that the Constitution reserves only for those who win elections or are confirmed by the Senate. Their lawyers said the ruling “effectively halts or reverses” many of the steps taken to dismantle the agency.

All according to the fascist playbook. And then some idiots will try to pretend this isn't fascism.

Does the head of USAID require senate confirmation?

So, nothing 'illegal' is meant to be the answer.

I don't care who runs it, provided they do what the law passed by Congress says they must do, without delay, prejudice, or incompetence.

There will still be 3 mandated congressional watchdog organization ensuring he doesn't waste money, just like there has been the last 20+ yrs.
