What say you, Russia supporters?

UChoose,

Is that the sound of crickets?

I guess targeting civilians isn’t a good look for supporters of the “special military operation”, at least one caught on camera that they cannot (weakly) blame on “Nazis”....

So, to be clear, regime officials have admitted that the target wasn't the mall, that the missile strikes hit a nearby legitimate target, and that it was the large amount of highly explosive material that was stored close to the mall blowing up that caused the situation at the mall.

They also blamed the mall operator for insisting that people ignore the warnings about an impending attack.

If by ‘regime officials’ you mean the legitimate, democratically elected government of Ukraine, they have stated that this was an act of terrorism by Russia.

It’s the moskovite invaders who are claiming they weren’t aiming at the mall but at a weapons store, they didn’t hit the mall and it was deserted when they didn’t hit it.

In further news, Muscovite officials are said to be seeking more spacious accommodation as their rapidly lengthening noses need more and more room to grow.

And Putler is as far as ever from his dream of being a real boy.

RichardPearce - It appears that you are siding with Russia. Are you?

What say you, Russia supporters?

russia destroyed western weapon depot that was near the supermarket causing a massive explosion and is nearby the mainly empty shopping center which the local mayor said was warned with air raid sirens. You can find local witness statements, video and satellite footage of this.

One (again) wonders just how brave Putin Would be if Ukraine could reasonably hold Russian targets (and the cities unfortunately close to them) at risk of proportional response?

Bet he wouldn’t swagger (or is it limp) quite so much then….

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So either...

1) Russia intentionally targeted a shopping center to kill civilians

or

2) Russian intelligence is so poor that it was not aware that the shopping center was in use, which still begs the question of why target an unused shopping center.

or

3) Russian cruise missile technology is so poor it went way off target

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Or..

4) Russia thinks Ukraine, like russia, is plagued with self-exploding infrastructure; in Russia's case, flagships, military recruitment centres, chemical plants and oil depots, in Ukraine's case, shopping malls, schools, theatres and maternity hospitals.

Someone asked if I supported Putin, who, if not homophobic, caters to the homophobic part of his population, and that should answer that question.

But I do oppose the maliciousness inherent in propaganda and misinformation, so, yes, I oppose the person who asked the question.

Looks like Putin misjudged many things.

He wanted less NATO and his actions just added 2 more, strong, members, Finland and Sweden.

He wanted Ukrainans not to be trained on NATO equipment. The UK committed to training 1000 Ukrainians daily.

He wanted less NATO devices and the US is sending defensive anti-aircraft batteries to Ukraine capable of defending against 72 concurrent targets. This system is used at the US White House.

US is sending 2 destroyers to Spain.

He wanted fewer next-gen aircraft and the US is sending 2 more F-35 squadrons to the UK.

Moscow has swapped about 144 war prisoners with Ukraine. Why?

So, to be clear, witness accounts and independent expert analysis have proven all Russian statements about the strike on mall as false as they pretty much always are. No surprise there.

With Ukraine to follow after the war, and likely Japan at some point in the future too.

Russian claims disproved:

Claim: The shopping centre was 'non-functioning'

Enough evidence to the contrary - Video, witnesses show the mall was operating. Online easy to find

Claim: The bombing of a weapons depot spread fire to the shopping centre

Video of the missile strike on the mall itself. Distance between factory and mall also make it an unlikely claim .

Claim: The attack was 'staged' or a 'provocation'

bizarre Claim that contradicts their above claims - and think back to the thoroughly debunked Russian claims about Bucha murders and maternity hospital in Mariupol. And no evidence offered by Russia
