sabiwabi,

Sorry, I prefer to believe the Dubai Police and their assessment. It seems much more sound.

But hey, lets blame the Muslims, because that is what we're told to do

It is Muslims (ie the Dubai Police) 'blaming' al-Qaida or 'Muslims' as you attempt to put it.

It seems the bomb maker might be the same as the one who made the underwear bomb, which had lots of holes in it (the story, not the underwear).

And it also seems it was addressed to a synagogue, which is quite reminiscent of the "death to America, death to Israel" written in the anthrax letters, which turned out to have originated from a US government lab.

But hey, lets blame the Muslims, because that is what we're told to do...

Sabiwabi, you need to be under some kind of mental care and it concerns me that you probably aren't.

Bush got the US in to the stupid wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Mr.Obama is trying to get us OUT of these stupid wars.

Obama certainly does give that impression, but that is just an illusion. He is as much pro-war as Bush was. The only difference between the two guys is their skin color and the fact that one of them can form a complete sentence. The Democrats and Republicans are simply the two sides of same deceptive coin. Both of them use the al-Qaida branch of the CIA to further their agenda.

Sorry, but you have to be an idiot to try to blame Democrats to Yemeni terrorists. We have fools here who are trying to bring President Obama to the doofus level of Bush. Only a fool could be stupid enough to even try to go in that way of thinking. Bush got the US in to the stupid wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Mr.Obama is trying to get us OUT of these stupid wars. So not only do we have republican hypocrites here posting LIES but just all around fools who do not deserve to even be mentioned. If the Dubai police are saying that this had all the hallmarks of an AQ bomb it must be because Mr.Obama as AQ to time this right before the elections??? Idiots!

The police said they were tipped off to the device by a call from abroad, but did not name the country.

Tipped off by an Al-Qaida member who had a guilty conscience?

The bomb, sent from Yemen in a FedEx shipment, was prepared in a “professional manner,” police said.

Prepared in a “professional manner”, just like the anthrax attacks, which were initially blamed on Al-Qaida but were later discovered to come from a US government facility.

donkusai, that was a commendable effort to show the hypocrisy of the posters who claimed the same about who they opposed a few years ago. Your attempt at humor goes appreciated by people with clear heads. But the pot smoker liberals just didn't catch on.

donkusai: This is all just another attempt by the Democrats to scare people and make them too scared to change government next week (stats have shown people are less likely to change government in times of crisis). They obviously called in favours by their socialist friends in Yemen and then tipped off the authorities in Dubai so they could maximise the spin. Clear as day.

...and the best part is that those who would be writing the same story about Republicans have no idea that you're joking....

Clear as day.

I think you must have meant to write 'Clear as mud'.

"No UPS or DHL cargo packages heading to Chicago through Yemen took place in the last 48 hours as well."

The article says it was in a FedEx shipment. UPS and DHL have nothing to do with this.

The world have heard of Yemeni threats for some time now-- with one source I read claiming the state to be the next Iraq... but whether this latest one really had AQ hallmarks' still dubious-- Yemen do have a lot of wanna-be AQ groups and whether it's just convenient to use AQ on this one is another matter.

Mohammed al-Shaibah, Air Cargo Director for Yemenia Airways said to Yemen Post, "No UPS cargo plane left Yemeni lands over the land 48 hours. These accusations are false and baseless." He added, "No UPS or DHL cargo packages heading to Chicago through Yemen took place in the last 48 hours as well." "All packages are checked very carefully in Yemen, and there is no evidence to prove that this package came through Yemen." (Source: Yemen Post)

Somebody's lying.
