Big brother rules. Mr Assange broke the establishments rules, so they go after him at all costs to make an example. You can USE their rules, but you must never break them. This is nothing to do with the Swedish accusations and everybody knows this, this is about the Wiki leaks. The government establishments worldwide were embarrassed. We are not supposed to have the establishments information, those are the rules they play by.

So the UK is going to illegally enter the Ecuador Embassy and arrest him on foreign soil? Ecuador needs to protect its Embassy and if the UK takes theirs down needs to do the same to the UK embassy in Ecuador.

The UK has so much to lose and for what a man who did not use a condom?

UK should let the guy rot in the embassy... with his mobility capped he's essentially in a prison anyways. His judgement day well come eventually when he tries to make a run for it.

They just want to shut him up before he leaks something that will be truly embarrassing to the UK Establishment... Gulf War, 9/11, Lockerbie, Arms Deals, Secret Services, assassinations, Royal family, banksters, media, etc..

The only way the UK can arrest him in the Embassy is by de-certifying the Embassy first. Basically, breaking relations with Ecuador. So that's far-fetched.

The UK however can keep guards 24/7 on the only entrance/exit of the building. Outside those doors is UK soil. So the moment Assange steps on UK soil, the UK can arrest him. Effectively, Assange can never leave the building.

Yes, because we are such a corrupt, evil country where people live in fear and dread. Get a life.

This Assange is a fugitive from Justice, not some innocent abroad. Maybe the police should take a leaf from South Korean border units and play crappy music at the hotel 24 hours a day until the embassy hands him over.

They should let him stay at the Embassy until he gets sick of it.

Assange is betting Ecuador's leftist President Rafael Correa, a self-declared enemy of "corrupt" media and U.S. "imperialism" who sympathizes with Assange but also feels respect for the British legal system and for international law:

Russia would kill him:

"Julian Assange says WikiLeaks wants to expose China and Russia as much as US. In interview, Assange denies US focus and says WikiLeaks can be force for opening up closed countries like China and Russia."

I guess I should be shocked at this abuse of UK extradition laws and concerned about how easy it is for states to trump up charges against someone between them. But in Assanage's case I have a hard time feeling any empathy whatsoever. It's all about him and his ego, not some global quest for truth.

If indeed he had more damaging information that he thinks should be in the public domain then why hasn't he released it?

He's only holding it back (if indeed there is damaging material at all) in desperate efforts to save his own behind. Personally I think he's got zip left in his whistle-blowing repertoire and he's just trying to stave off the inevitable. Since the weak-minded source for his leaks is looking at life in a US military gaol or even death, I think it's only fair Assange shares some responsibility, and even a cell down the hall.

There are other ways to get him out and now they have granted him asylum. Suppose UK could remove the diplomatic status of the Embassy. Ecuador would do the same at once to UK. Is the Embassy being blocked at this time? There are UK thugs or police outside of their doors. Saw a picture and it suggests that they are letting no one in or out. Maybe they intend on starving him out.

The UK is risking so much over this man. This is bound to unite South America against the UK and USA. What will the UK do if they have to fight all of them? If they knock off the embassy any war will not be defensive and NATO will stay out of it. They should allow Ecuador to take him to South America.

There are UK thugs or police outside

Same difference in my experience.
