Will the US media own up to their culpability in radicalizing this young man?
lincolnman
This is the kind of filth that comes out of Trump's mouth and Twitter every day - and the same hate-speech that you get every night from Hannity and Limbaugh.
The entire right-wing media is a co-conspirator in these attacks and should be held legally accountable.
Strangerland
And it's exactly why every mass shooter since 2016 has been a Republican. Their leader is stoking this environment of hatred, and their MSM only blows air on the fire.
Strangerland
More mass shootings in the US this year, than there have been days this year.

Meanwhile, the House passed HR 8 in March. This bill establishes new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties and has had no action from the Moscow Mitch "Turtle" McConnell led Senate.
S894 was introduced in the senate in April "To authorize dedicated domestic terrorism offices within the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to analyze and monitor domestic terrorist activity and require the Federal Government to take steps to prevent domestic terrorism." It too sits in the Moscow Mitch "Turtle" McConnell leg senate with no action since April.
Some, but not all states have passed "Red Flag" laws which allow a family member or police to petition a judge to remove guns from individuals who pose a threat to themselves or others.
We have seen no action on this from the republican controlled Senate despite the attempts by the democratic controlled House. Republicans have zero solutions and are only capable of obstructing.

Once again the Trumpers close their eyes and close ranks to protect their sainted one - the one that traffics in hate and division. Sure, someone who says some Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists are "very fine people" isn't doing anything to ferment violence and hate... What a crock.
And the disenfranchised white males that sit all day long listening to the even more hate-filled rhetoric on Fox News and the other right wing hate machines decide to internalize that hate and act...so they go to their armories in their basements and haul out an assault weapon with a 100 round magazine and head to the closest Walmart, or theater, or elementary school.
Fact: Of the 10 most deadly mass shootings since 1949, four have occurred from 2017 to present. There's a reason for that - and that reason resides in the White House...
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/02/14/health/parkland-among-deadliest-mass-shootings-trnd/index.html
And the spineless Repubs will do nothing to upset their NRA Masters...
Moscow Mitch again Missing in Action...
If we want common sense gun control, we have to vote out every Repub from dog catcher to the White House... Let's get started.

*Witnesses say he went aisle by aisle through a store packed with people stocking up on back-to-school supplies*
Just no "good-guys" with firearms in firearm and tough-guy rich Texas. There goes that nonsense argument. The Alamo held out longer than that.

The root cause is that more and more adult men become social outcasts these days because they are eliminated from jobs market. This isn't an American problem. ironically, although being well known as a low crime country, Japan isn't unfamiliar with murdering rampages among the developed countries either. The nation is still licking the wound from that terrible Arson attack.

So this guy is complaining that a place called El Paso has too many Hispanics?

The president has to give a clear speech condemning white nationalism and racial hatred, but he won't. The white nationalists are an important part of his base.
Tangerine2000
As far as I understand it, white nationalists don't support Trump because his administration has seen the highest level of legal immigration in US history.
I think a lot of people who oppose Trump are missing something important. Many Trump supporters would be classed as white nationalists by some. They're not. They are just traditional working class Americans who generally vote Republican.
Genuine white nationalists see Trump as a pro-immigration president, and thus see him as part of a system that they are opposed to.
Sneezy
Weird that they keep praising him and committing mass murders in his name then.
Chip Star
Any traditional working class American that generally votes Republican should have abandoned Donny long ago. Neither Donny or any other conservative politician gives one freak about the working class.
I'm not buying this without some cites backing up this naked assertion.
Strangerland
No it hasn’t.
Tangerine2000
Can you please provide an example of someone committing a mass murder and praising Trump?
Richard Spencer, prominent American white nationalist, on CNN two weeks ago. In the video below at 1:38
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-I55mlrJQg
Can you please show some data that shows legal immigration has been higher in any other administration?
Chip Star
One guy does not represent all true white nationalist.
That was not the claim. You're conflating white nationalists who praise Donny with white nationalists that commit mass murders.
Chip Star
his administration has seen the highest level of legal immigration in US history.
Under Trump, however, net migration to the United States is tumbling, down 12% from fiscal year 2017 to fiscal year 2018, according to new Census Bureau data.

Tangerine2000
He is often called the leader of white nationalists in America. So, what he says kind of represents what quite a few of that group think.
I am just replying to what Sneezy said, which was:
"Praising him and committing mass murders"
If that is the case, there should be some examples of white nationalists who commit mass murders who have also praised Trump.
Tangerine2000
Trump became president in Jan 2017. It doesn't matter if it fell from 2017 to 2018, it is still the same administration. What I am saying is that from when Trump became president to the present, the level of legal immigration into the US has been the highest compared to any other administration.
https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/frequently-requested-statistics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states
Sneezy
Yes: the subject of this article.
Tangerine2000
So, can you show me where Patrick Crusius praised Trump?
Sneezy
Yes: https://heavy.com/news/2019/08/patrick-crusius-social-media-trump-twitter/
bass4funk
What a piece of disgusting filth.
lincolnman
That will likely come out later.
What we do know are these facts;
This shooter posted a virulent anti-immigrant and anti-Hispanic statement on social media before committing this atrocity.
President Trump has stated; "Mexican immigrants are criminals and rapists".
Said of Jeb Bush; "He likes illegals because of his wife"...
Said a Mexican-American US citizen judge wasn't qualified to sit on an immigration case
Trump Tweet in 2013: Sadly, the overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and hispanics-a tough subject-must be discussed.
Said of the caravans coming to the border; "it's an invasion"...
InJune said; "Mexico must stop the invasion of our Country by Drug Dealers, Cartels, Human Traffickers, Coyotes and Illegal Immigrants."
Said during a rally in May in Panama City Beach, Florida, Trump spoke about the border patrol agents working to stop migrants from crossing the border illegally. When he asked the crowd, "How do you stop these people?" one rally attendee shouted, "Shoot them." At first laughing, Trump responded, "That's only in the [Florida] panhandle, can you get away with that statement."
I rest my case....
Tangerine2000
Fair enough.
However, these are just likes of Trump posts of twitter. Can you find anything in Crasius typed or verbally said in which he praises Trump?
As the article you posted a link to states:
“but claims Trump shouldn’t be blamed because his anti-immigrant beliefs predated the president.
My ideology has not changed for several years,” the manifesto, which you can read more about here, says. My opinions on automation, immigration, and the rest predate Trump and his campaign for president. I putting this here because some people will blame the President or certain presidential candidates for the attack. This is not the case. I know that the media will probably call me a white supremacist anyway and blame Trump’s rhetoric. The media is infamous for fake news. Their reaction to this attack will likely just confirm that.”
I think you are trying to convey that Trump has caused this, or that Trump is heavily responsible for causing the enviroment. I'm saying it's not that simple.
Something deeper, beyond Trump is responsible for this. I don't think it would have made any difference if there was a different president.
lincolnman
Oh please, we understand complete loyalty and devotion is required for Trump Land, but these are facts;
This individual had a hatred for immigrants and Hispanics...
He expressed his support for Trump's hate-filled, anti-immigrant tweets...
He made a point of saying "don't blame Trump", doing exactly what all Trumpers do - try to protect this President.
He took the chant at the Florida rally to "Shoot Them" literally - the one the President didn't call out, didn't say "we don't do that", didn't say "that's not American" - he just laughed an said "you can only do that Florida"...
Well, this Trump-supporting shooter showed you can do it in Texas too....
bass4funk
Which he meant about many of the gang members like MS-13 and other gang and Cartel members trying to get into the States and through through our open borders, open because the Democrats refuse to take any action-Fact.
Taken way, way out of context. That was not what he said.
He said, the judge being of Mexican origin and an Obama appointee would never give him a fair shot or not be politically bias.
That is true, that’s not a racist thing to say and there are a multitude of reasons for it, just like in our prisons, The inmate population is mostly comprised of blacks and hispanics, but to deny that is not dealing with reality and talking about it doesn’t make you a racist. The data is available to view.
bass4funk
The Democrats first said earlier this year that it is a manufactured crisis and now all of a sudden they’re screaming there is a crisis at the border, so the Democrats are confusing bunch, now they are desperate and want something done and complain we have to do something to fix this crisis, just makes you want to hit the head against the wall, because still, the Democrats do nothing but complain and that’s all they do.
110% correct.
Yes, that was said, but it has nothing to do with the shooter. You have people that are sick and tight not frustrated at what is happening with the border and I knew from last year that the Democrats keep doing this more and more people are going to express their concerns into anger towards Democrats as well as anger towards the government not doing anything about the border crisis. There is no justification for what this monster did, but as a result a lot of people are getting angry and that is no excuse for taking violent action to hurt or to kill anyone, but because of the lack of action and urgency of the government you’re starting to see more anger in more hate growing. The lack of concern and lax and open borders, the demonization of ICE and the border patrol is not winning the Democrats any friends or support and as long as there is no action or a stop to illegals and sanctuary cities, I’m deeply worried this is just the Beginning.
Tangerine2000
@lincolnman
lincolman, as I have said before, I am not American, I don't support Trump. I really, really don't care if he loses the next election.
You will alienate people who might agree with you on many things if you automatically assume everyone with a different opinion is a Trump supporter.
lincolnman
Duh, yea - do I need to re-post the definition of racial discrimination?
@realDonaldTrump #JebBush has to like the Mexican Illegals because of his wife."
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/donald-trump-deletes-tweet-jeb-bushs-wife/story?id=32256986
Wrong again....
And why didn't he call and shut down the guy who yelled "Shoot Them"? He didn't - and nuts like this take him at his word...and this is what results....
The blood is on his hands...
bass4funk
I don’t see any discrimination here, xenophobia, maybe.
Wrong again....
Ok, I will concede to that, fair enough, but doesn’t prove at all your a racist. Immigrant wife or wives to be exact, Jewish children, having a black women...live in the WH another secretary of HUD, it just gets harder and harder to make a case he’s a racist. The Democrats have pretty much lost the fight on that one. Another narrative debunked.
Why don’t the Democrats seal....never mind, I already know why. As for Trump not stopping the chant, Don’t know why and I won’t speculate, but I will say, you have a lot of people angry at what is happening at the border, wrong as those words are, it’s understandable given the crisis.
Ok, like with Maxine Waters saying to get into Trump supporters and their staff and in their faces and to follow, harass and tell them they are not welcome or like when Obama said, get in their faces, Sanders, Tlaib, AOC, They’re doing the exact same thing, going to McConnell’s house, harassing Tucker Carlson’s daughter in a public place, or the Bernie supporter that shot congressman Scalise, Andy Ngo who suffered a brain hemorrhage from the violent Antifa so many incidents, but all these people are responsible for their actions and causing nuts like these to act out as you said.
The blood is on his hands...as well
bass4funk
As you said, “before” But now it’s the US, so they have to abide by US law.
And there maybe a lot of reasons for that, priors, how they conduct themselves in prison or how they were around the cops, if they had an attitude or combative. You need to look at the entire picture, there’s more to that than just saying Black men get harsher prison sentences more than white men for committing the same crimes, always more, always a usually a valid reason
plasticmonkey
No it's not. These people watch too much Fox 'n' Friends.
Are you personally affected by asylum-seeking families from Honduras? No. Your outrage is manufactured by the sickos at FNC.
So you admit Trump is responsible.
plasticmonkey
That's right. It's just a coincidence that they're black. Or maybe black men have more of an attitude. You know, "uppity" and not knowing their proper place. Racism is not a problem in America anymore, right?
Next you'll be telling us that this shooter isn't racist. He's just angry about illegal immigration.
bass4funk
Had No idea you knew them....wait a minute.....
Huh?
As responsible as Sanders, Waters, Omar, Tlaib, Pelosi
So if you're taking an attitude towards law enforcement...like dumping water on cops or throwing rocks at them for example.
The Democrats keep it alive, they have to, that’s the ONLY that can get minimum traction in this debate climate.
I leave the liberals to speculate.
lincolnman
Trump said he was unqualified to rule on the case because of his background/race (Hispanic). The definition of racial discrimination is: Discrimination, unfair treatment or bias against someone or a group of people on the basis of their race.
Good - and I'm sure you'll also agree it was quite ironic (and stupid) given Melania is also an immigrant...
It's understandable to say "Shoot Them"? Really? It's that kind of attitude that enables these nuts to go out and conduct these massacres...
Dodge - but what aboutism.... These nuts take Trump at his word that it's OK to "shoot them"....
I'm not saying Trump is directly responsible, but his hate-filled and racist rhetoric enables and contributes to these white supremacist nuts going crazy and killing people.
bass4funk
Sure looks like it in the photo, Zilch.
You were the one that was saying these people were there long before white people came, that is true, but it is now officially in United States of America in there for anyone that comes in now or over the last 100 years it is the USA and as such, you are subjected to the its laws, we are a sovereign nation to come with that line, that is a losing argument. You can’t claim something that is not yours.
Ok, but again, that’s one version and the other version is, you need to look at the persons background and priors which all are contributing factors and conduct in determining how long a person gets, probation etc.
No, it’s a realist. I’m not a racist, don’t like racism or racists. The racist argument is for people that want t make excuses, leave the debate, shut someone down or backed in a corner.
bass4funk
Exactly, the same equivalent to a white guy wanting to kill Republicans like ducks in a shooting gallery.
Sad, but nothing can be done about that.
Easy, if you can blame Trump for this monsters actions, than you can blame Sanders, Waters, Omar, Tlaib, Pelosi as well.
California has a few thousand and they’re doing absolutely nothing, in fact, they want to demonize the very people trying to bring order to this madness.
No, they’re holding the guns to Congress by not allowing for any border closing or any illegal immigration reform to take place as well as to block any attempt to build a wall, barrier or whatever liberals want to call to appease their conscious.
Doesn't lesson the anger about our open borders and never will.
bass4funk
I already mentioned that.
Legal
Lame excuse, as humans, we all know the difference from right or wrong and have choices unless we are just mentally disturbed, the President has a much of a bearing on the persons decision to shoot these people as much as the Bernie Sanders supporter that tried to and almost killed Congressman Scalise.
Of course, you would say that, lol.
just like the Scalise shooter following Bernie’s order.
As it does with Sanders, Booker, AOC, Waters, Omar and Pelosi.
Sneezy
Bernie has never encouraged or approved of shooting people.
You also keep bringing up this one guy because he's the only example you have of a politcally motivated attempted gun murder by someone on the left. Meanwhile the right is churning out mass murderers faster than Vin Diesel can make Fast and Furious movies.
bass4funk
Neither has Trump.
I have more examples of violence perpetrated on the left towards conservatives, YouTube is just one click as well as the quotes from many Democrats.
2nd all the killings in America doesn’t mean you’re a conservative, come on dude...lol
lincolnman
Yes, but you didn't say it was racial discrimination, which it is...
As is Columba Bush...which shows what stupid thing it was for him to say...
And many people can be influenced to think their "right" is better, more spiritual, more moral, etc., than other peoples. That's what Trump hate-speech does.
Because its true....its in black and white....
Show me anywhere Bernie or any Dem has heard someone say "Shoot Them" and hasn't said anything...
See above...
