So people are telling these phone callers to f..off?? Wow! What a surprise! But it IS an election year in America, so should we be surprised??

I can think of more beneficial ways to spend that kind of money.

Money talks. GOP has 10 times more financial resources than Obama.

SuperPac money $300 millions from Karl Rove and $400 millions from the Koch Brothers are buying up TV airtimes and organizing heavy GOP phone call campaign to buy American politics. Actially, their total political investment is just about $1 billion for 2012 election.

American politics has been changing since the Supreme Court decision and It will never be the same.

I have never understood the american way of electing a president, pressurising voters to make a decision doesn't seem democratic to me, Can't the people make a choice of their own. I looked up the contributions for each candidate, interesting reading, some business and the educational establishment supporting Obama and the banks and wall st supporting Romney(no surprise). But what surprised me most was the amounts, over a billion dollars , most of which went to the advertising companies, sorts of leaves a bad taste. Society has a better use for that money, I'm sure.

American politics has been changing since Support for Obama dropped through the floor. It's no longer 4 years ago people and his minions aren't in love any more. Obama is borrowing from Bank of America. Romney is getting cash from real people.

Spork, would you please provide me a weblink to support your post? Obama borrowing from BOA and Romney getting money from real people? We are in middle of SuperPac money investigation, and your information would be very helpful for all of us. Thank you very much for your coorporation.

Uh, perhaps you haven't heard. The romney campaign machine is $12 million in debt. Apparently, he ISN'T receiving money from real or imaginary people.

"battleground states"

There are states that Obama is not guaranteed to win? Incredible...

The Republicans need to make California a battleground state again. To do that they need to have more California residents become taxpayers. Good luck!

Good news for Obama! Gas prices in "swing states" are coming down just in time for the election!

I'll keep the telephone calls, you guys (those of you in Japan) can have the election trucks with their loudspeakers blaring all day long. At least I can hang up my phone!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Excellent point JD. The noise from the trucks and from cassette players or actual people in stores is overwhelming. Why are there so many ads on TV and radio as well as phone calls even though the number is on the National Do Not Call list in the USA? FREEDOM OF SPEECH, a concept many neighbors and other parts of the world don't have.

Ha ha ha! But wait - it gets better: this is his news source!

Really, thank you, Spork, for making my night. I don't know if you are simply young and foolish or old and ironic, but either way - sweet.

The No Call list does not stop political campaign calls as the political campaign calls are excluded. They can still call us.

I actually enjoy receiving all these calls and enourage volunteers while we speak as I understand they are participating in democratic political process. I try to make themselves feel very proud. These volunteers are not getting paid. They are giving up their dinner time with families after work. It is wonderful to know that we are living in democracy unlike other countries lead by dictators. TV ads and too many political campaign calls are little price we need to pay. That's okay with me.
